Had an outstanding waitress by the name of Haylie B that took care of us absolutely perfect, the best service we have had at any restaurant for many years. This has become one of our go-to sushi spots because it's always consistently good. The food is fresh, delicious, and reliable every time we visit. What really stands out is the service. We recently came with a group of seven people, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout the entire meal. Despite having a larger party, everything was handled smoothly and efficiently. Another huge plus is how easy it is to make reservations online, especially for groups. The process is simple and convenient, which takes the stress out of planning. 2/17/26 (first timer) - Sushi Lovers! Ordered the cherry bomb - very colorful and flavor combos, eat quick as the sauce takes away from the crunch of the crispy rice base. Truffle salmon -thinly sliced, great flavors! Black tuna- beautifully odd looking. Flavor was very different from standard super white. Nice bold extension and very healthy cuts. Anura sake (salmon) toro, was great flavor again thinly sliced. Seabream (madai), had great taste! Uni, which is very delicate was very fresh and overall high grade all around. Tuna tataki was an excellent combo of flavors, especially the toasted garlic chip! Sunomo salad (add the Tako - octopus) very refreshing. Last try was Amazing roll! Very big mix of flavors and almost crazy to the taste buds especially the Chimmichuri but beyond delicious! Overall: I ALWAYS RECOMMEND SITTING AT SUSHI BAR as first option w/date or alone, but that wasn't available for me tonight! Been a while so thought a quick revisit was needed. To start, this location went through a remodel which opened the place up quite a bit. Fresh art and more tables compliment the space very nicely. Since this was just a quick lunch and a cocktail I ordered small and light but they delivered. Maguro nigiri was bomb, scallop nigiri was fresh and buttery, and someone sure pumped up the Togarashi on their spicy edamame! Steamed is nice but charred was where it's at for me. Drinks were good and here's where the last star would have been won... tried the china doll and a raspberry mojito. Both were good, but this cocktail menu is all a little sweet for me. Blue sushi has always been my go to for great sushi. Service is generally impeccable and the food comes out fast and fresh. One thing to note is that blue sushi restaurants typically are playing loud music throughout the restaurant. This sometimes makes it difficult to have a conversation without repeating oneself multiples times. However, the ambience is lively and the employees always are bright, energetic and engaging. Last time I was here I wasn't impressed but decided to try it again for A QUICK, Sunday lunch happy hour. First I have to say I love the remodel it created a more modern atmosphere. The worst service in my life The service was very disappointing because of the waitress. She was rude, inattentive, and made us feel unwelcome. A little of a mixed experience. I ordered the Crunchy Red Roll and the Cabo Roll, along with some appetizers, and I have to say--the food was great. Fresh ingredients, great flavor, and exactly what I was hoping for. However, the service left a lot to be desired. I was seated at the bar and waited 35 minutes before anyone even took my order. At that point, I was about ready to leave. What made it worse was that another family came in after me and was greeted and had their order taken right away. I completely understand that restaurants are busy and that staffing shortages are a real issue, but at the very least, a simple "Hi, I'll be with you in a few minutes" would go a long way. It's disappointing because the food was genuinely good, but the service experience really took away from the overall visit. I'd be hesitant to return unless I knew they had improved their attentiveness to all guests, not just select ones. read more

Blue is our favorite Local Sushi place. This was our first visit to this location after they remodeled and expanded. They almost doubled their seating capacity in the expansion. In the past it was hard to get a table during peak hours, we would wait 30-45 minutes some nights. I think now it will be much quicker to be seated. This trip was a Sunday at 5pm and we were seated immediately, but it looked like just about every table was filled. I'm sure there would be a wait at 6pm, but with this many tables, I don't believe it would be a very long one. As for the food, just about everything on the menu is a solid pick. Our favorite starters are the Coconut Crab Soup, Itchy Sea-bass, Tuna Tower, and Blue Kani. For rolls the Lion King, Thriller, San Marcos, Hawaiian, and the classic Rainbow Roll. Today's visit was good, but the food service was a bit slow. I'll chalk that up this being the first few days of them reopening and it being completely full. I love their new remodel! The restaurant is much bigger and the atmosphere is beautiful. The decor and lighting is top notch. They have a great selection of cocktails and saki. I've never had a bad cocktail; the bests are the Strawberry Daisy, Blue Mule, and China Doll. The sushi and fresh and good portion sizes. I like that the menu is organized by raw and not raw, and vegan vs not vegan. They have a great selection for vegan and vegetarian sushi if that's what you're interested in. I've heard raving reviews about Blue Sushi before but still didn't really expect much when arriving. I'm pretty hardcore when it comes to sushi so I didn't want to get too excited for a let down. I was anything but disappointed. This is a hip atmosphere with quite a bit of table seating and a bar to match. The service was attentive and friendly. So friendly, in fact, that we ended up enjoying our experience so much we ended up leaving a half hour after close not realizing and apologizing on our exit. I thought this was a kind gesture instead of rushing us out, even though we did not mean to take advantage. Free edamame with a yelp check in is a plus, but even without the offer I would still come back here! The food is 100% worth it. You can tell instantly the ingredients are fresh, with many roll options to choose from. We ended up getting four rolls, with the assistance of our server - she didn't let us down. Whether you like raw or cooked sushi, everything was phenomenal. As someone who is not very familiar with Sake I was super excited to have the option of ordering a sake flight. I got the partly cloudy sake flight. The server described it as a sweeter, more fruit focused flight. I loved the sho chiku bai and would order that alone next time. Perfect Mothers Day lunch! Our server Krista was very attentive and was on top of everything, which was pretty amazing considering they were extremely busy. All of our food came out rather quickly to our delight. With it being a holiday I was prepared to have to wait a long time but that was not the case. I had visited this Blue location before, but forgot how great it was, until my most recent visit! We stopped in pretty late (about an hour before close) but the patio was bustling on a warm night and the servers inside, where we sat, were on point. Very pleasant and attentive with drink refills and suggestions. The interior is adorable and very well decorated with lots of blue and bright colors. There is a Yelp special, if you check in before ordering, that will give you a free order of edamame, so be on the lookout for that. Always a great starter at the beginning of the meal. The sushi came out quickly and was super fresh and delicious. We started with the Itchy Salmon and Itchy Seabass. They were served the exact same way, with Serrano, cilantro, and ponzu sauce. Both were fabulous but I think we preferred the seabass version, just because it held together a little bit better. For our initial rolls we got some of our favorites - the Crunchy Blue (Crab/Eel Sauce), the Cowgirl (vegan), and the VLT (vegan). We wanted a few more rolls and asked our server what she loves/if she had any suggestions for two more. Oh. Em. Gee. The two she suggested were so tasty, we actually finished them before even starting our original "favorites" we had ordered! She recommended the San Marcos Maki and the Wild Run: San Marcos Maki - This is a raw roll that features tuna and shrimp, ponzu sauce, and an expertly seasoned charred jalapeño on top. Yum! I'm definitely ordering this again next time I go. Wild Run - Another raw roll, but you wouldn't know it was raw by looking at it. It has salmon, crab, avocado, cucumber, and red caviar on top. It was SO refreshing and light! Also added to the "re-order" list. In the fall, I came here to meet a family member for a late dinner right before closing. As I was being walked to my cousin's table, a pregnant hostess greeted me at the door. While walking, I slipped and fell because the floors were wet. She looked back, saw me struggling to get up, and didn't even offer a hand. I asked her to come back and look at the wet floor so it could be cleaned. Thankfully, I wasn't hurt. I then proceeded to my table, but the hostess never asked if I was okay and instead rushed us out of the restaurant. As we were leaving, my cousin almost fell on the same wet floor that I had just slipped on because they NEVER cleaned it. I again pointed out that it was a serious hazard and was completely ignored. I felt this was extremely careless, so I called and reported it to a supervisor. I spoke with Sean Maguire, who was very apologetic and told me he would make it up to me. He said he would email me and that when I decided to return, he would take care of my table. I agreed and received his email. Yesterday, I decided to take him up on his offer and emailed him to let him know that my son and I would like to dine in. To avoid any misunderstanding, I asked if there would be a gift card or how the check would be handled, since he had promised on the phone that he would take care of it. To my disappointment, he emailed me back saying he would now give me a $20 gift card. LOL. How insulting. Mind you, if I had gotten hurt, this restaurant could have been on the hook for thousands of dollars. I told him NO THANK YOU and that we would not be coming. How insulting, to say the least. This was a complete all-around terrible experience. I will be telling everyone I can to avoid eating here, because this is an awful way to treat a returning customer after such a serious incident. If you made it this far, just know these people are money-hungry and do not care about you as a customer. Stay away if you can. -This is the Google review and I am posting here and will post everywhere else I possibly can because after I left my first review in Google Reviews they had the audacity to respond with LIES for transparency I'll post their disgusting response. In a picture! I can't believe they had the audacity to respond that way! The manager that I talked to after this incident promised me over the phone that he would take care of my table if I decided to give them another chance. Whats insulating to me now is the fact that they wanna lie and block me from being able to respond to their comment on Google reviews talking about how they rushed to help me when I fell on everything I love that is LIE! & even more insulting that they are now trying to make it seem like I just want a hand out! I love Blue's downtown location, so was excited to visit this location for lunch while nearby. Located in a shopping center, there's parking right out front, though can be more difficult to find when it's busy in the area. Despite arriving with a big group at peak lunchtime, we got seated right away and our server was very friendly. The space is nice, with bar seating and lots of tables. Like the other Blue locations, the decor is fun and modern, and fitting the sushi bar theme. I ordered the house salad with ginger dressing to start, which was delicious as always. I ordered a sushi roll too, which was delicious as always. I didn't order from the lunch menu, though other coworkers did and really enjoyed their meals too. My sister and I are reviewing all Omaha sushi restaurants and this was our 2nd trip! We were blown away with all of the options! The menu was HUGE and vegan-friendly! We split 3 rolls: Tataki Maki, Negi Yellowtail, and the Crunchy LA. This was a mixture of classic, specialty, raw, and cooked rolls. They all were very different but so good! My favorite was the specialty Tataki Maki whereas my sister preferred the classic Negi Yellowtail. Keep in mind that this place has very few non-sushi options!
