The Blue Top Grill has limited parking since they have been in business since 1951. The daily special is alway good. The food is fairly priced and the quantities are plentiful. I got the hamburger steak with onions on top with two sides consisting of slaw and fries. They threw in a cornbread muffin as well. The service was a little slow but luckily I was in no hurry. The homemade cake looked great but I did not get any. would recommend this establishment which operates from 11 a.m. til 8 p.m. My only other observation was that the onions topping my hamburger steak included the top layer of the onion which was something I care nothing for. Nice little place. I talked to two of the locals who said they have the best burgers around. There is indoor and outdoor seating. If you are getting a to-go order or picking up a call in order, go to the outside window. Dine-in orders are ordered at the tables inside. I placed a to-go order at the window, and my food was ready in about 10 minutes. If you pay with cash you will save some money. The burger was moist, and all of the toppings tasted fresh. The burger could have used a little more seasoning before it was cooked. The fries tasted like they were fresh cut. It does not appear that they season the fries. Burger had good flavor, and fries were a little limp but tasted good. Fresh cut fries tend to be limper than frozen fries. Soaking the fries in iced water and double frying them would make them crisper. I would definitely return for the burgers. I asked for everything on the burger. Everything was mayo, ketchup, onion, lettuce, picles, and tomatoes. read more

If you're local - don't bother reading this. If you're visiting, don't sleep on the Blue Top Grill. You're not going to find any place like this, anywhere. If you distilled home made, southern diner, and local, over proofed it, and then Large Hadron Collider smashed that into a food experience - you'd get Blue Top. I had the BLT with Slaw. It was exactly that. No weird spices, no variation on a theme, no exotic bread, no fancy production style. Just, good. And they have that awesome crushed ice you can't seem to find in this day and age of clear icecubeness. If you're not from here, keep in mind, they speak southern, move at the speed of however they want. They don't have vegetables on Wednesdays. They have both types of tea. Everything is original. The chicken fingers were pretty good. The meal was a large portion. Honey mustard was good but was not a big fan of the fries. They were very soggy. Overall I give it 4 stars. Went for the first time to the Blue Top Grill today. I have lived in the Aiken area for a little over a year now and cannot believe I didn't go here sooner. When you first arrive you are a little unsure as the restaurant looks like it's been there a long time, and it's in the middle of a neighborhood. But don't worry, this place is great. The restaurant was pretty busy when we went in, but we were greeted quickly. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The reviews say this place has great burgers so I ordered the big cheeseburger and fries. I have to say, the reviews are right. This was the best cheeseburger I have had in a long time. Not a fancy burger on some specialty bun, but the kind of old fashioned fresh made burger you used to get at drive ins. And the fresh cut fries were excellent as well. No frozen out of the bag stuff here. I also got a corn dog to see if I liked it. I wait all year for the fair to get a corn dog, and the corn dogs here are just like the ones at the fair. My wife got the fried chicken and my daughter a club sandwich with onion rings. They both said they enjoyed their food as much as I did. Just a tip though, everything is made fresh. They told us fried chicken would be a 30 minute wait. We didn't mind since we were in no hurry, but if you are wanting the chicken you might want to call ahead if you don't want to wait. Overall, the Blue Top Grill is hidden gem in Graniteville you shouldn't miss. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I'll definitely be back. read more
