This gem is located in Metamora on the Ducks crossing side. After doing some Christmas shopping we were hungry and ate at this diner. The menu is limited but it all looked delicious. We ordered the sloppy joe 2 for 6.00 dollars. What a deal. Also grabbed a bowl of corn and potato chowder. Very comforting. They have lots of homemade desserts blackberry cobbler pumpkin pie and cinnamon rolls

This is the kind of smalltown restaurant that defines what it means to serve "down home" cooking. This isn't fancy. It's just plain good. While I'm typically more of a burger guy, when I go to a down-home place like Have-A-Bite it's fried chicken I'm looking for and it sure doesn't disappoint here. Yelper Rick G. was a big fan of the tenderloin. As a tenderloin blogger, I trust his opinions there. The basics? Accessibility is surprisingly solid - Metamora can be really hit-and-miss (it's an older, folksy town with the main claim to fame being the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site and an emphasis on old-timey music and antique shops. The front entrance is workable - there's a slight lip at the door. The dining room itself is pretty well laid out and I had no problems. I didn't try the restroom. There's sandwiches here, traditional diner fare, fish/shrimp, appetizers, several dessert options, and more. The fried chicken had it going on. The mashed potatoes were inspired. The people were friendly. Is this the best meal I've ever had? Nah, but it's delicious and definitely a shining jewel in this small town and one of the best options for those who need wheelchair accessibility. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

We've passed by this place and they do t seem to be crowded but we went during lunch and there were people eating there and going through the drive thru which is good. I had the roast beef sandwich with fries and the fries are okay. My wife had a chicken sandwich and I don't remember which one but her complaint was the menu board doesn't tell you what is on it. Her's had bacon which she didn't know and it came with a special sauce. What I did like about the place is that they have items you wouldn't find at a RR. One thing I didn't like is that I ordered a double but the roast beef was cut thicker so it was hard to tell if I got an extra slice instead or more thinner sliced meat. But it was still good with the BBQ sauce and horseradish which I like here since it's like RR. My wife liked the roast beef so she may eat that next time.

The cafe is located in the converted historic ROM Webber furniture factory. The Big Four cafe name honors the railroad line that used to pass through town. Courtney, our server, was friendly and attentive. She kept water filled and checked on us frequently. Food came out quickly. I had the Herb and Garlic Chopped salad, which was beautifully plated, fresh and delicious. Romaine, tomatoes, onions were topped with cheese and avocado. The garlicky vinaigrette dressing was tangy. I I also had a cup of the Texas Chili, which was topped with cheese and jalapeño slices. The beef was tender and the soup base slightly spicy. My husband had the Cuban Press (at Courtney's recommendation) and it was tasty and hearty. The sandwich was made using Indiana ham, slowed cooked pork and melted cheese. He said his sandwich was an easy 5 stars. Don't miss the beer battered onion rings which are fresh made and delicious. (I stole a couple of his rings.) There are roomy restrooms with changing tables. Free parking is available in front of the building. Worth a visit.

Definitely a two thumbs up experience and worth a drive!

The food took about 15 minutes to prep and appear at our table. The servers checked on us frequently. We ordered breaded tenderloin sandwiches with onion rings. One of the servers told us that the pork was locally sourced and hand battered. Other regulars, next to us, recommended the onion rings as a side. The tenderloin was not pounded thin, but thick and juicy. The breading was light and flavorful. The bun did not hold up well, but it was fresh. The onion rings were amazing. The helping was generous and the breading was a light beer batter. It was a great meal made with local ingredients. The building is smoke free, but there is a patio that appears to allow smoking behind the main building. The rest rooms were super clean.
