I ordered the seafood pasta salad, which was delicious. The Cajun Alfredo was also tasty. The portions are large--there isn't anyone going hungry! We were there with a big group of people, but our server Angie was AWESOME. One other woman was incredibly rude to us, but I'd come here again to receive the awesome service from Angie. Brought my Mom here for an early dinner around 3:30p on a Saturday. She had never been here and it was a beautiful evening. We were sat at a table right away. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the lake. Such a perfect day for it. The lake was so calm. It wasn't too busy yet so it was quiet, which we liked. Waitress came promptly and told us the featured meals. She told is about a Carna Asada plate. It sounded delicious. My Mom and I both got it. She changed her sides to the potatoes and fresh veggies. I got the sides it came with (roasted corn and rice). Food came pretty quick. Everything was so good, and very flavorful. The view is great. Cajun grilled catfish is fabulous. Frozen corn for vegetable is a little dull- but price point of $19 for meal with two sides is fair. I always love the food. The spaghetti and meatball special felt like it weighed three pounds. We had another meal with leftovers. We loved our food and portions generous. read more

I have been wanting to come here for a while and finally hopped into my car and went for a drive. I walked in on a Sunday around 11:30 and was seated immediately, and was offered a drink then I placed my order. The young lady that took care of me did an absolutely wonderful job and was very attentive. My salad was very tasty, the bread stick I could tell was a little old, but not bad. If I had any real complaint and my reason for one star, but I really hope it wasn't the case. I asked to use the restroom before I left and was guided to a single stall RR Thela's was uni sex so I had to wait, then it had a massive spring on the door to get it. Which made it very hard to get in and out of. But with as many seats in this restaurant I would hope they had another bathroom. Other than that it was a very tidy place and very nice. My husband and I love to try local places so he thought a nice drive from Rush County to the lake followed by dinner here would be a nice anniversary date. We really enjoyed our meals. His steak was cooked exactly as he liked and my catfish was tasty. We had the half pound of chilled shrimp as an appetizer and key lime pie for dessert. My parents food they agree was also very good. Ambiance was about what you'd expect for a lakeside cafe. Patio area was fantastic for the views of marina and lake. My boyfriend and I went here on a Sunday afternoon at the end of April. We had a wonderful experience. Parking was easy and the restaurant was clean. It was not busy at all and we practically had the outer patio to ourselves! It was a beautiful day and we found it so peaceful and loved the views. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well! We ordered the calamari appetizer, which was delicious. As my entree, I ordered the grilled chicken breast which came with two sides- I chose the rice pilaf and green beans! Everything was very fresh and tasted wonderful- the chicken was cooked perfectly! Such a gem to find this place in the southwest OH area as restaurants on the water are few and far between. The food is pretty good overall with good variety on the menu. The desserts also always please. Salad s weren't served before entrees. When asked about the salads the man said, "I don't know, I'm not a server". Told him to take entrees back and we would wait for our salads. I was part of a retirement party of 37 people. According to the manager whoever made the reservation was responsible for entire bill. The bill was over $600. He refused to work with us to split the bill OR let us pay for our individual order. Reasons he gave us were if he does this: some of us could "stiff" the restaurant, not tip the waitress, and company policy. So he insults us and refuses to work with us to take our money. Lesson learned: DO NOT make reservations! Take your party elsewhere! read more

I ordered a Yachtsman Burger it is advertised a 1/2 lb burger,, it is a 1/4 burger at best ,My wife got the chicken tenders and it was processed nuggets . the food is priced at a premium price and the food is low quality . the only thing this expensive establishment has going for it is the view of the lake . read more

We are on Brookville Lake a lot and have never tried Ainsley's. We thought we would give it a try for lunch. We called ahead to see if they had parking for trucks hauling boat trailers and she didn't really understand what I was asking so I asked it in a different manner and she said yes that they did. The answer should have been no we don't have pull through spots but you can park sideways in the regular parking spots. The question is can you find a few to park in on a weekend, it was tricky. When we got there the hostess which I assumed was the same person we talked to on the phone asked how many and if we wanted to sit outside. We asked her if there were any tables that were covered by the overhang as we did not want to sit in the full sun. She said I don't know but did not offer to go look for any so we chose to sit inside. We both ordered burgers I ordered the Yachtsman. The burgers came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. I asked the waitress to bring me mustard because I do not like mayo. She did not bring it so I asked her again when she brought it to the table and then the hubby asked for ketchup for his fries. Neither one of those items were on the table I don't know if this is covid-19 related or not because they all came in the little packages that you tear open. We waited and waited in the waitress never brought it I finally got up and went and asked somebody by the kitchen for it. They were out of a couple of beers that the hubby asked for and finally settled on an iced tea. The burgers were okay nothing to write home about. I had also ordered the onion strings that I paid a dollar fifty extra for and they were supposed to be nice and crispy on the outside and they really were not they should have been fried a little longer. We went on the 4th of July knowing we were taking a chance since nothing else appeared to be open. Food came out very quickly (too quickly to not have been microwaved). My daughters "linguini with marinara" looked and tasted exactly like canned spaghettios. I had nachos. You could see the layer of grease from the Hormel chili in the dish. It was food. That was about it. Nothing good, but not bad enough to not be edible or complain when we rolled the dice coming later in the day on a holiday. Meh. read more

I'm a guy who walks with a cane and rolls with an electric wheelchair and this place is far from friendly to folks with disabilities. The door to their deck has a nice sign saying "Wheelchair Accessible". All you have to do is pass over a section of lawn topped with small half buried pavers. This looked like a minefield to me so I entered through a door to their indoor deck only to find a fan/evaporative cooler in my way as well as tables and chairs laid out like a maze. I managed to get through the maze with only minor injuries to the tables and chairs. Oh, did I mention that I tried to use my cane, only to find that the floor around the evaporative / swamp cooler was soaking wet and slippery. Someone should explain to them that Swamp/Evaporative coolers work well in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and other places with low humidity. They don't work at all when the temperature is 90 and the relative humidity is 70%. I won't comment on the food which was OK but the environment was a total disaster. This place is not for folks like me. It is clearly HANDICAPPED ANTAGONISTIC. read more

We love this restaurant! The seafood and crab salad is incredible! My wife and really enjoy sitting on the decks overlooking the Brookville Lake. The only problem we have ran into is the wait times. We just went Saturday evening and they told me an hour wait. They took my number so they can text when they have a seat for us. We ended up going in to check on our seat, they let us know they texted us but I did not get the text until I was standing at the desk. The reception is bad in that area though. read more

The 35 minute wait and the past experiences my friend had here made this place sound promising. Unfortunately, I was super let down. After a long day on the lake we were looking for some food before our 1 hour and45 minute drive home. We were seated on the covered patio which was pretty toasty but I was told some new fans were an improvement. Our waitress was not friendly in the slightest which should have been a sign as to what was to follow. We ordered one drink from the bar which we saw sit there for 10 minutes. After roughly 15minutes the waitress brought us a fresh one. We ordered salads, a coup of soup, nachos, cheese sticks and bread sticks. Our water cups sat empty for about 5 minutes before they were filled up again. Our food took FOREVER. We watched tables that sat down 30 minutes after us get their food and finish eating before we ever saw ours. Our waitress told us the kitchen was backed up and working on the orders of two large parties in the patio (Maury: "that was a lie"). When asked if the kitchen had forgotten about us she said, no they are just really slow and she wished there was something she could have done. (Maury: "that was also a lie"). Thankfully, another waitress came by to ask if we needed anything and once we told her our food would be nice since we had been waiting for almost an hour at this point it wasn't much longer before it came out. After over an hour of waiting and trying to keep an extremely tired 3 year old busy, we finally got our food. The nachos were great and the French onion soup was delicious. My tossed grilled chicken salad was great until I found hair in it and the cheese sticks were subpar. At this point we were so fed up that we asked for a manager. It took another 10 minutes before the manager came to talk to us and she opened the discussion with "your waitress tells me you received poor service." Without an apology she assured us our food would be comped. My salad was never removed from the table and I wasn't asked if I would like anything else. The waitress came back to ask how the check would be split up. I was on my own but told her I would not be paying for my salad because I didn't even get to eat half of it before I found a hair in it. The friends that I was with kindly put my order of their check. Of course we had to wait another 10 minutes before we got our check. We still paid $30 and were "comped" about 15%. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Have served before and I usually have a lot of patience for waitresses especially on busy nights; but to me, this experience was unacceptable. I will have to say the food I saw coming out of the kitchen did look and smell great and the other waitresses seemed nice and got their meals out quickly. I'm hoping this poor experience was the exception at the hands of our waitress but I will most likely never return. read more

This was a very picturesque restaurant/bar we found during a recent minitrip to the Liberty are. They have a patio with a wicked view of the water which we took full advantage of as well as a fine looking inside (well for the 30 seconds I saw while we were passing through to go on the porch. They have a very large and pretty diverse menu of a lot of different kinds of food. I kept with the maritime theme and got their Catch Of The Day fish sandwich. It consists of a hand breaded cod filet, with red onion, lettuce, and tartar sauce packets (). The fish was more rubbed than hand breaded and it was flavoured beautifully. I didn't even bother with the pathetic tartar sauce and let the fish flavour rule the day. The fries were quite good as well. As for some of their other dishes one of my daughters got the spinach salad and loved it and the other got a burger and hated it (I didn't try either one so I have no opinion of my own on them.) Anyway it was a good meal in an awesome environment so I'd say this was a worthy experience. read more

We were camping at Quakerstown over Labor Day weekend. While out sight seeing, we stumbled across this restaurant. We weren't very hungry but wanted to check it out so we went in for appetizers and drinks. When checking in we were asked inside or outside. It was a beautiful day so we chose outside and was seated immediately. The beer was ice cold and the breadsticks that we split were very good! We looked at the plates of diners around us and everything looked delicious! The view of the water was awesome while we ate and drank. Service was fast and friendly as well. The next day we played a round of golf at the near by golf course and decided to go back to Ainsley's for a meal. We ordered a Greek salad, lasagna and cheese ravioli. Everything was soooo delicious!! We also sat outside again to overlook the water. We were told there was about a 15 minute wait for outside seating but we only waited about 5 minutes. Service once again was fast and friendly. We can't wait to come back on our next trip and try more items on the menu. read more

First time coming to Ainsley's cafe and I have to say I was very surprised. I came on a nice day and we sat outside overlooking the lake and the boats docked. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. The pricing is on the high side so be aware. The food was good. I had a Margarita pizza and was a little bit disappointed by it because there was no tomato sauce or anything. It was just dough tomatoes and mozzarella cheese and that was it. So it definitely wasn't your traditional pizza. As soon as I would pick up a slice all the toppings came off from the tomato juices. My friend got the Cajun chicken Alfredo with shrimp and that was amazing. Way better then the pizza. I did order a margarita and was disappointed that I could t taste any of the alcohol. But over all it was still a great time and great experience. I would definitely come back when visiting again. read more

If I could give a negative star review I would. 4 of os went to Ainsley's for supper Friday night 9/24. We've been there several times this year. New management. Prices are up and the quality is extremely down! We always get the prime rib sandwich and it's always been a good sandwich. It's normally about a 8 oz. portion. All 4 you could read a book through. The sides (onion straws) went up from a $1 up charge to a $1.75 for a onion! Never, never will we be back. LOCATION ISN'T EVERYTHING. YOU CAN'T CHARGE MORE FOR BAD QUALITY!!!! read more
