Excellent quick service, friendly too! Delicious seafood here, I had the lobster roll and my dining partner had the lobster bisque and Mediterranean salad, which had shrimp and crab on it. He is usually not a lobster bisque lover like I am, and he raved about the soup, stating it was amongst the best he has ever had. We were both pleased with our main courses, mine came with old bay seasoned fries. We ate outside on the "porch" which remained cool due to plantings of sea grasses around the seating area. Gotta say for a recommendation that my cousin picked not a bad restaurant not saying that my cousin picks bad restaurants but what I'm saying is you just trust a family member you barely see and they actually pull out something decent I had the millionaire meatloaf or at least that's what they called it and it was quite enjoyable the sauce that they had over the potatoes was amazing although I will admit the combination of lobster and potatoes was an interesting flavor wouldn't want that probably again but everything else was very nice. WOW!!! What a pleasant surprise. Blue Water Cafe knocked it out of the park! everything was well-seasoned, on point, and the portions were large. Mussels were out of this world (reminded me of Europe). Absolut seafood pasta had generous, heaping amounts of seafood with incredible sauce. Lobster mashed potatoes - light, fluffy, rich, and creamy - bingo! and the fries were crunchy and not overly salted. Once again Blue Water Cafe was everything I expect it to be. Came here again on our annual outing with the family. Weather has been crappy here all week so we were able to get a table immediately. I love that it's BYOB here both to save a little money and to bring wine we know we're going to love. We were seated at the same table as last year (odd coincidence) and started looking over the menu when they brought over an ice bucket for our wine (a nice Italian rosé). For appetizers my daughter and I both got a bowl (you heard me, a bowl) of the best clam chowder I've had on the Island, the rest of the crowd had wedge salads or house salads. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best clam chowder I've had here...not even close. This year I went with the seafood scampi special - shrimp, crab, and scallops over angel hair. Wifey had the stuffed shrimp special, my son had the salmon picatta, daughter had the shrimp pomodoro, and her fiancé had the grilled salmon. Five meals of perfection. Just the right serving size, excellent flavors, great service. Keep in mind they don't take reservations so on a normal night we would have waited. Also, limited parking so pay attention to the signs on the streets. This is a great place to eat, but it can get a little loud inside. 100% recommend! P.s. my son lost his ear buds here tonight, but when he called they had already found them and put them aside for him. This place is amazing. They do not take reservations so plan on waiting at least 30-45 minutes on the weekends. There is a very cute outdoor seating area that you can wait and bring your own wine, etc. The food is so good. We ordered two apps and both equally delicious-the crab dip was surprisingly our favorite of the two. The steamed local clams had a delicious butter garlic sauce that we devoured with the garlic bread it came with. Dinner was lobster roll and the absolut seafood. Both were extremely tasty and we ate every bit of it ( sorry I didn't take pictures). We ended the night with two cappuccinos, gelato and a chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was amazing-it was not stall nor freezer burned (sorry to say many local businesses in the area have either stall or freezer burned dessert). For years we have gotten take out here-as we did today-$300 worth. it's sooo gone downhill -tomato and mozzarella panini-worst I have ever had. bread was horrible. like a big sooty hot dog roll 2 pieces of soggy tomato (both pieces of tomato on one half of the panini-so the half I ate had no tomato -salads-all mediocre -crab nachos-horrible. and I mean horrible. like a big pile of cheese used to be amazing. -pasta's-small portions mediocre -OVERPRICED. On Mother's Day we celebrated with our annual brunch at @bluewatercafelbi . This restaurant always serves the freshest and most delicious brunch. This year was even better because all 3 of my kids were home to celebrate with me. We ordered: - pork roll, egg, cheese on bagel platter -eggs blue water: eggs Benedict -crab Benedict -cafe combination: eggs, bacon, ham, pork roll, home fries - side of pancakes I have to say they serve the crispiest home fries around. Came here for lunch on a Monday, my last day in LBI. It was a hot day but we sat outside anyway. Anthony was our waiter. I got the fish taco special and my cousin got the avocado club which she has had before. Her sandwich tasted like summer! It was cold and refreshing and light. I loved my fish tacos! They were exactly what I was craving. They came out with the old bay french fries and I had to change that but they corrected the order quickly. A rainy Saturday night with a struggle to find a place to eat in beach haven. A 90 minute wait down the street so we moved along and thought we'd see how long the wait was here, an hour wait. Saw folks doing byob while they waited. We went to check out other places then bought a bottle of wine and headed back. Luckily table was ready in 30 minutes and we were seated promptly. Service was good. Food was pretty good albeit high prices for a short season area. A nice touch would face been bread for the table but they don't offer that. Chowder was pretty good. Blue Water cafe a hidden gem in the heart of Lbi where seafood taste like seafood and everything else is a second priority. Had many seafood dishes here all were good but I am not here to review everything. This lobster roll the had prepared me.. very delicious. Roll to lobster ratio was above average. However they do only make lobster roll salads. Usually I say if it's green keep it clean but that is not the case when I comes to lobster rolls. I enjoyed it, did taste better when I took another one home and heated it up and threw some butter on that thang. What a meal! I dare you to find a better pairing than the garlic bread dipped into the lobster bisque. Our lovely server even brought over a small saucer of lobster bisque for me so I didn't have to dip into my wife's. The caesar Salad was Chilled, crisp and flavorful. The crab cakes were meaty with just the right crunch. Even the chicken tenders and fries, which my 24 year old ordered off the kids menu was delicious. One of my favorite breakfasts spots! We usually come here on our first morning while we wait to check in. They are BYOB which is a plus. One of the best spots to get home fries and a good iced latte. Aside from breakfast they also serve lunch and dinner. Their clam chowder and lobster roll are very good. This restaurant also has a really great outside dining set up. You definitely should visit on your next LBI trip. read more

The food and service is outstanding! Abby, our server, was extremely helpful in answering all our questions, even though we have been to the Bluewater Café many times. Millionaires meatloaf and seafood risotto were the two entrées we ordered. They were made and cooked to perfection. My compliments to the chef, who I am told, has been there for years. So tasty and sizable enough to have some leftover for later. Tiramisu is a new dessert added to their offering, and it may have been the best that I've ever had! I love a restaurant that offers cappuccino, but most times it turns out to be disappointing. Not so in this case. Abby assured me she has makes the best cappuccino, and it lived up to my expectation. Kudos to Abby! I live on the island year round and had a guest this week so we went to the Engleside Inn, Howard's restaurant, and now the Bluewater Café, which, by far, hands-down is the absolute best and a must go to! read more

New to LBI. Stopped in for lunch our first week here and had a very nice lunch. Had lobster roll sandwich which must've had one whole lobster of meat on it. It was amazing! Also had a crabcake sandwich which looked really good. Had a bowl of clam chowder, it was the best clam chowder that I have ever had! Also took home two bowls of soup. It was so good.
