Excellent place to go for Italian provisions, well stocked, friendly staff. Store made food is exceptional and reasonably priced... if they don't have what you want just ask, they probably make it for your next trip. I tried their chicken parmigiana sub on crusty Italian bread, so big and delicious, couldn't finish, saved for next day! The chicken soup was fresh made so I had to try it, very good. Many homemade soups available, just look in the cooler section for them, minestrone, pasta & bean, escarole, hard to choose, all good! Next time I go I'll try the butcher department. Don't waste your time ordering dinners from here. When Grub Hub called our $200 order in a little late,Brunos refused to take responsibility for the people they hire to represent thier business. They cancelled our order. It's obvious thier customer service is sorely lacking. They made no effort to correct the problem. I would rate thier concern for thier reputation - 00. To say the least I doubt I will patronize this sorry excuse for a business in the future. Customer satisfaction is not part of thier agenda. Had a party of 35! They delivered/setup all the trays, bread and salad. Food was excellent, not thrilled about the 2 pasta requirements on catering menu but they were really good!!! They delivered the food on time, set the food trays up, and we were only responsible for bringing the tray stands back the next day. The staff is wonderful but their food and meat is better. I had several side dishes catered for Thanksgiving. I was a bit skeptical and worried that it wouldn't be as good a home made. I was wrong. This is about what my experience was at this market. My husband & I bought about $70 worth of food. Their prices are very high too. I had asked the owner (the old man) how much the pepperoni was and he said $10.99. The pepperoni was hanging up on hooks, draped over (2 sticks attached together) the pepperoni with oil, was dripping down from all of them onto the counter area. I asked was it for one or the two attached sticks. The owner said one. I had told him it was a little too pricey for me so I didn't want it. Anyway, he made a pissed off face and then tried to drape it back up on the hook, couldn't do it. Then he tried another 2 times and on the third try the two sticks detached and flew over the deli counter, hit me in the right side eye area and oil was then in my eye and on my face and all down the left side of my winter coat. He didn't apologize. He knew what he did and told me to use SHOUT !! No I'm sorry from him when I said "look what happened there's oil all over my face & my coat." He didn't care no remorse. Luckily most of the oil came out of my coat after 2 washes but there's still shadow stains. And my eye burned from the oil. We will never shop here again. The old man is nasty. read more

I made the choice this year not to cook for Father's Day or go to a restaurant so we had Bruno's cater our event. The hot food was delivered hot and ready to eat. Everything was delicious and while we had only 13 people there was tons of food. Everyone took home leftovers. Pretty good sandwich place. Looks pretty authentic as well. I like the fact that the rolls have sesame seeds on them And the bread is not very doughy. I ordered the #3 which is eggplant, provolone, proscuitto, and I added balsamic. It was good but probably better heated up. My wife got a chicken cutlet sandwich that was very good. It was warm with fresh mozzarella. Prices were also reasonable and there were big portions. Great place i would highly suggest it. read more

So after living down the Jersey Shore for quite some time, I finally decided to visit Bruno's Meat Market in Manahawkin, NJ. I am mad at myself for not visiting sooner. I don't know why I never stopped in before, I had no reason not to, but today would be the day. This is the type of Italian Deli that you would find in North Jersey, think Bayonne, Jersey City, Secaucus! They had a great assortment of meats in the case. Steaks and Sausages tons of cuts and varieties. Huge assortment of Italian sodas and sauces and frozen ravioli. They had prepared foods, sauces in the cooler, hot foods ready to go from the steam, table, and a case full of salads and rice balls. I ordered two sandwiches, which come in three different sizes, 6", 8" and 16", the middle size was comparable to a half sub, but looked and felt like a football when it was all wrapped up, it was heavy as hell. The hot roast beef with fresh muzz and gravy was amazing, the chicken cutlet with prosciutto, provolone and sun dried tomatoes was just as impressive, the bread was perfect and they were stuffed. The star of the show was the fresh mozzarella that was sitting on the counter in a big ball, leaking all over the place, this stuff was super wet. Got home sliced it up, creamy with just the right amount of saltiness and bite to it. This was super wet, creamy, and was still warm. Simply amazing! So if your a North Jersey transplant, check out Bruno's for some nostalgia and great Italian food. read more

This Butcher shop and Italian Deli is really great. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Their meat is the best in the area! They are very reasonable considering the cost of meat has gone up so much. I stopped getting meat and deli stuff at the grocery store because the quality is so good and won't break us. An example of their outstanding customer service: a major Pasta company stopped selling pastina. On FB and Amazon an alternative pastina is selling for 10+ dollars, Brunos carries it for 2.99. I asked them about sayings was surprised,, the guy said I'm not charging my customers 10$ for pastina! Well done Brunos! Well done. You have a customer for life. read more

Catered an event for 45 people the other day, and Bruno's was absolutely excellent in every way. The staff was great; helping me to plan out a good combination of buffet items and add-ons. They treat you like a friend or even family; it's like you are calling your Uncle Louie! Will definitely be using them again! First let me say that their catering menu on the catering tab of their website made it so easy. It tells you what the per person price is and what's included. The food was amazing and the price was very affordable. Their chicken parm is one of my favorites. The bread was included and that was delicious!! This is by far the best place I've had anywhere south of Union area... it's like I walked back into a Deli in Belleville... I may post every time I get something from here because it's amazing. The sign says it's an old-fashioned Italian butcher shop, and that's exactly what it is. The staff is very friendly, in a Brooklyn sort of way. Yesterday I got a turkey sub, which was packed with fresh meat, lettuce, tomatoes, in crusty Newark Italian bread. I brought it home and shared with my wife for lunch. We were both satisfied and man was it good! Only $9 for a sandwich that was excellent and fed two people a nice lunch. I also got house made hot Italian sausage, which we cooked tonight with peppers and onions, it was fantastic. Grilling it you knew there was plenty of red pepper, my eyes were watering. The casing popped nicely, and you could tell it was made from good cuts of pork. Nice mouthfeel, no gristle or unidentifiable stuff. The only problem is that you'll never be satisfied with grocery store sausage again. We also got a soppressata, which again was great. Not sure if it's made in house; it's definitely not mass produced. Again, you'll never be satisfied with grocery store salumi again. In addition to meats they have frozen foods and Italian grocery items. You spend a little more, but it's worth every penny. I'm telling you, you need to go. read more
