    Fries

I really love this little market on Long Beach Island for what it has to offer. It's super cute, nestled right as you come onto the island, and has a cozy coffee shop with lots of homemade pastries (the homemade Pop-Tarts and cinnamon buns are a must-try!). They also have a small grocery section with organic and higher-end items, fresh salads made in-house, a deli, and even a grill. I came here this morning and ordered a cheesesteak with fries. The portion of fries was huge--honestly enough to feed a family of four. I was glad I had someone to share with, but keep that in mind if you order. The cheesesteak itself was just okay. The bread was good, but overall it lacked flavor. Personally, I wouldn't come back here for a cheesesteak, especially since there's another spot on the island that does them really well for half the price. I also grabbed a cold-pressed juice from the fridge. None of the drinks are marked with prices, so I didn't find out until the register that it was $7. A bit of sticker shock considering you could find something similar at a grocery store for about half that. That said, I'd absolutely come back for their coffee and pastries. They're delicious and feel special. I may just skip the deli/grill next time.

Always a 10/10. From the fun drink choices, to the deli style menu, to the cute lil stuff scattered all throughout the market- the local is an EXPERIENCE. My drinks are always made to perfection- I recommend the rainbow cookie latte, or s'mores latte- they always put a fun topping on them. Also try their homemade pop tarts! Nutella is my fav

This market is the perfect spot to stop in for coffee or lunch. There's so many options for made fresh sandwiches or packaged food options. The coffee bar is also too notch. I had the churro latte and they even topped it with whipped cream caramel and an actual churro. I also got the chicken vodka parm sandwich.

Almost every time I attempt going here, the line is out the door, but for a good reason! This market has everything. My sister and I stopped by before leaving the Island. We got there when it opened and there was already a line forming outside. The counter was stocked with fresh pastries (homemade and we also saw The Food Dragon delivering cookies!) I ordered a coconut cold brew and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. My sister got the cinnamon bun latte, a BEC, and one of their homemade pop tarts. I can't wait to come back again!

The Local is exactly that !! The local spot to get sandwiches, bakery goods , and some limited groceries. Staff were very friendly and helpful in answering any questions. No real ambiance but some great live entertainment while you order and take your food to sit. Overall our dining was really good and if you're in LBI during the summer worth a visit.

When my bestie told me that she often frequently comes here prior to parking on the beach next to me, I knew I had to make my own personal visit. I didn't know what to expect, but she always recommended true gems in LBI. Breakfast is a great choice when coming here for the very first time. Massive food selection from custom made requests to ready made sandwiches to grab and go. The outside of this place is very welcoming and charming for those that want to savor the morning cool breeze off the ocean. The staff is very bubbly and friendly and ready to answer all of your questions. I personally thought their offering of whole coffee beans and other choice merchandise made this place all the more appealing. I made sure to grab myself a long sleeve shirt as a souvenir which had wonderful feel and comfort. I decided to get for the beach their smoked mozzarella, pesto and roasted peppers sandwich, their turkey coleslaw thousand island dressing sandwich, and sesame cream, cheese bagel. Their prices are more than fair, especially for the area and I look forward to further exploring their menu. The next time we come down for a weekend visit.

I mean come on!! Their specialty lattes are above and beyond. I've been a few times and haven't been disappointed. Place is always packed yet the workers worked clean and efficiently to get the customers in and out. They have lots to look at while you're waiting. Lots of sweets and the market has so many options from prepared foods and deli options

The Local was a fun surprise. The coffee is extravagant--fancy and playful while still tasting like real coffee, not just sugar and foam. The shrimp roll totally shocked us with how good it was, especially coming from a coffee spot. Great treats, solid service, and an overall good time. That said, the pricing is pretty outrageous--very Hamptons-style for what you're getting. Still, we had a blast.

This place is absolutely adorable, went there for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm now addicted! Amazing food and drinks as well as sweet , kind people.

Came here 3 times during our stay: Tried two of the special iced lattes (keep in mind that these don't come with a lid due to the height of the whipped cream and any other toppings, so it could get messy for to-go): - s'mores (not my favorite) - coconut cream (this was a winner for me) Tried some sandwiches: - Italian hoagie (high quality deli meat) - philly (love the addition of broccoli rabe) - tuna melt - hamburger This reminds me of places you would find in NYC. It is a bit pricey, but the portions are big (in terms of the sandwiches).

My favorite place in LBI. It's so casual and cute. I love their specialty coffees. They have a wide array of items, sandwiches and bakery items. I can't wait to come back!

The vibes are definitely costal beachy and cute to see. I was very disappointed in the latte I got, unfortunately. It was very watered down and just overall was not what I was expecting. The strawberry pop-tart I will say was very good and worth the hype. All the other pastries unfortunately not. I got a blueberry scone that had no flavor and a cinnamon that just tasted blah. I was expecting more from this place and it was a little bit of a let down. I will try it again on my next visit to see if their other's sandwich's or specialty coffee are better!

This place is absolutely incredible! From the fresh brewed coffee's to the fresh pastries they have daily you literally cannot go wrong with anything you order here! Be warned, there is always a long line, but totally worth it and some of the help is a little young but if you're patient, you'll get your order and then some! This is a Total jersey shore, hidden gem been coming here for years, you guys gotta check it out !

However, I've developed gluten intolerance and it's hard to find places that offer options that accommodate celiac and gluten sensitive folks. I found that Surfside offered gluten free bagels and wanted to give a pork roll, egg, and cheese with salt, pepper, and ketchup. I was worried they wouldn't have any since I came late into off-season, but luckily they had plain and everything as bagel options. We took two orders of PREC w/ SPK - one on a GF everything bagel, one on a GF plain bagel. The GF bagels tasted almost like sandwich buns, but overall the breakfast bagel hit the spot without causing any terrible reactions. The everything bagel's seasoning definitely made it more subtle of the fact that it was gluten free. There's no seating at this place so it's more grab and go. They also offer coffee but I didn't opt for any. What's nice about the inside are the cool gift items they offer as well as the literal surf shop ambiance -- felt almost as if you were inside a shop in Hawaii. Price is premium in general on the island. There was a $4 upcharge for gluten free bagels so altogether we paid an extra $8. Total was around $25, but again during off season, we feel for the business as things start to slow down. Happy to support island businesses as long as the service is friendly and the food is great! Will give Surfside another chance next summer!

When we arrived, there was a QR code on the door to scan the menu, so we took the time to look it over while waiting. After finally reaching the counter, we were told that the coffee drinks we wanted are only available on Sundays. It was confusing and frustrating if the menu is limited on certain days, there should be some kind of notice before customers wait in line. Feeling rushed because of the line behind us, we ended up ordering two nitro cold brews (one with sugar‑free vanilla). Unfortunately, both drinks tasted exactly the same and were nothing special. Honestly, I could've made something similar at home and saved the $15. There are definitely better coffee options in the area. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, there was plenty of seating, and the food and sandwiches looked decent. But overall, the experience just didn't match the expectations.
