Best seafood takeout on LBI. The flounder was fresh and flaky and the scallops were to die for. Kudos to the chef.

I have been going to LBI for 47 years and the Eighteenth Street Cafe is by far the best place to eat on the island.

At that point it was a small restaurant, BYOB, but it was immediately apparent that real gourmet food had finally arrived on LBI. (I still remember their version of shrimp and grits from that time.) We no longer had to put up with the prevailing surf and turf that we had unfortunately become accustomed to. Since then they've moved to their current, much bigger space and have created a beautiful, vibrant, inside-ourside restaurant that still serves excellent food (their lumache is terrific--we try not to order it every time) and has expanded to include pizzas--thin crust and very tasty; every one we've tried has been delicious. So we would definitely recommend Black Eyed Susans. The staff is welcoming, friendly, well trained. This is now a big, beautiful destination restaurant. The pizzas and beer lower the price point.

This was very relaxing and I truly felt like I was transported to a resort. They do a great job of creating a little outdoor oasis. Once we were seated, we literally wanted to order the entire menu. Everything sounded outstanding that it was hard to choose. We settled on the seared tuna and a pizza as our apps. We also did indulge in an order of homemade sourdough because when in Rome! The pizza was by far my favorite. The crust was so thin and so crispy. You could tell all the ingredients were very fresh and the dough was perfect. For our mains, my fiancé had the swordfish special and I went with a crab cake. I love that I was able to get a single order instead of a double. It was the perfect amount of food after all the apps. We agreed the swordfish was outstanding. So moist and not dry whatsoever like it sometimes can be. The real highlight of the meals for me was the homemade soft serve. As a huge ice cream stan, this was the perfect ending to my meal.

Well - we had to go see a music school engagement at the Waterfront today and decided to have a little lunch. First as a appetizer I order the Grandma Connie's Home made meatballs ($15.50) two meatballs, about 1/2 teaspoon of ricotta and some kind of marinara sauce that was more like tomato water than anything that resembled an Italian gravy - Horrible! Then wife said forget that and lets get sandwiches; ok - she got the Short Rib Grilled Cheese ($20.00), and I got the Bourbon Chicken Wrap ($17.50) - they were Both Horrible! Grand kids got the chicken fingers ($18.00) and they were a bit over cooked but tasty. Overall opinion = Food is way overpriced for the quality, flavors are blah to horrible and just no worth another trip. Too many good food places around, this one is huge pricy disappointment........

They had several dishes on the menu with their own unique twist. One of my favorites that was tried was burrata over a beet puree. I've seen burrata prepared easily over a dozen ways but never with beets. It was an excellent combination and left me wanting more. More my entree I had the sesame encrusted tuna. The portion was huge! They do not skimp here. The tuna was cooked perfectly rare and was very fresh. Surprisingly, one of the best things I ate at Manera's was the caramelized onion mashed potato's that came with my fiancés veal dish. These were out of this world and easily the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. I could have eaten an entire plate of them and that's saying something for someone that typically doesn't eat mashed potatoes! Another big perk is that Manera's is BYOB and much more reasonably priced compared to any restaurant on the island. You will surely leave satisfied after a meal here!

The waiter was caring, friendly, and professional. Secondly, the food was great, and actually even better than the last time. I started my lunch with a cup of their Chicken Tortilla Soup, which had a lightly spicy tomato-based broth infused with loads of shredded white meat chicken and garnished with a few tortilla strips. It was flavorful, comforting, and a perfect vehicle in which to dip their crusty Italian bread. Now the real improvement came from my selected entree. While the Asian Shrimp Salad that I had ordered previously was just mediocre, the Seared Tuna Salad that I got this time was delicious! The plate included mixed greens, sliced avocado, julienne cucumbers, pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, and sesame-crusted, sushi-grade tuna, which I ordered seared to a medium rare. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. Cups of wasabi and Asian dressing were served on the side and further infused a tangy heat to the dish. It was colorful, textural, and simply delicious. It was a real winner! Manera's Restaurant provided yet another enjoyable meal with dedicated service in a classy, yet casual, atmosphere.

Eggplant tower I would order every time I come here. Light and crispy and didn't fall apart when cutting in half to share. They executed the medium rare temp like champions too. Only 4 stars because the large greenhouse window could work if it had a decent view not a side parking lot.
