You can tell how hard the flight crew works behind the scenes to make everything safe, seamless, and special, and their passion truly shows. Mark, our pilot and owner, was stellar; knowledgeable, calm, funny, and clearly someone who loves what he does. Floating over Sedona at sunrise was beyond words and honestly one of the most breathtaking experiences we've ever had. If you're visiting Sedona and considering a balloon ride, do it. Completely worth the early wake-up and every penny.

You also could sign your waiver online. Check-in was easy and our flight was super smooth and amazing! Our pilot explained everything and we were prepared for landing and just told us what to expect and it was a smooth ride. I had such an amazing time and I totally was worth every penny. I can't wait to do this again and my next trip here! The ride from their office to the launchpad was about a 10 minute ride. I think we were in the air for about an hour and a half and then once we landed, they took us to a spot where we could have some champagne and relax, and then they took us back. The whole experience was four hours long. Book them!

Plane through Sedona valley, to the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon, helicopter down to the Colorado river, float on a pontoon and do it all again in reverse. The Hualapai lunch was gross but really, whatever. I wasn't there to eat. The tour guide was retired military and did a great job narrating the tour and keeping things interesting. I'm officially addicted to helicopters now....

The ceiling was held together with zip ties, the instrument panel was strictly analog, and the navigation consisted of a $100 Garmin. At the Grand Canyon, we did a helicopter tour (5 minutes), a pontoon boat ride (100 yards), and a "Sky Bridge" walk (they confiscate your phone so they can charge you $60 for pictures). All connected by an inefficient and really slow one-way shuttle bus system. Oh, and 95% Asians, who were all smart enough to take a bus from Vegas. Some Chinese investor funded this oasis, and does all the marketing in China. On the way back, it took 45 minutes to get the plane started, which inspired a lot of confidence in our chances of surviving the flight back. The pilot (great personality) and adventure factor (death defying) give it a two star rating.

Some of the ancient cave dwelling areas are only accessible by a grueling hike, but we saw them all. The 45 minute trip if well worth the time and worth the added expense over the shorter trips. On our first flight, we developed a warning light and had to land in Sedona after about half the trip. They got us back to Cottonwood and rescheduled us for the next day. The team couldn't have been more accommodating. On the second try everything was great and they went all out to ensure that we had a great experience. Super customer service and consideration for clients. We will definitely recommend and definitely do this again when we are in the area. The Sedona area is beautiful from the ground and fabulous from the air. Just do it!

Not only was the flight and adventure, but the pilot kept a continuous monologue of what we were seeing. So I walked off the chopper knowing more about Sedona's geology, native culture, Ponderosa Pines, how the elk come down the mountainside the snow piles up, and more. I wasn't expecting to see ruins of ancient cliff dwellings, but and was pleased when the pilot pulled along side - that was really cool. The entire experience was safe, well lead and informative. DO IT!

That is good because the light pollution is low and it also means the stargazing is probably far better than probably wherever you came from. So, for the "tour," you drive out to the middle of nowhere--to a school, actually--then you walk with your group and guides to a field where they have chairs, blankets, and a bunch of massive telescopes set up. The blankets help but dress warm. In fact, dress warmer than you think. With the wind, it was very cold out during our experience. Now, for stargazing purposes, it is definitely better if the moon is not full, and it is also better if it is not cloudy, but nature constantly reminds us who is in control. We had an almost full, extremely bright moon, and plenty of clouds. But we still had a great time checking out the various stars and planets and even the moon itself. If you are able to plan your tour, try to do it when the moon is at its darkest. The entire tour, if you want to call it that, lasts about an hour. It is not a thrill a minute experience but it is educational and, for those into astronomy, fascinating. This is definitely not for younger kids but mature teens might enjoy it. Plus, you almost certainly will see at least one falling star.

There were three telescopes set up, and 6 people sharing. It was really cool how the guides could just push a button and the telescopes would adjust to view the particular spot they were describing. The guides seemed really knowledgeable. My advice is to wear warm clothing. It was really cold when we went in late May. Our tour was at 10pm. They do provide chairs and blankets, which was much appreciated. Like other reviewers, my negative would be the cost. It was $150 each for a one hour presentation. It was a neat experience, but not worth that much in my opinion.
