Third times a charm. I booked a balloon ride for my birthday in January 2024 and had to cancel due to unfavorable weather and just figured it was a sign I had to come back to Sedona. Booked again in 2025 for my birthday and had to cancel/reschedule to a different day because of the winds and boy am I glad that the alternate date worked out. This was the highlight of my trip. This is by far a 10/10 life experience, and I've done a lot of things. I've taken nearly every mode of transportation and this was the smoothest and most peaceful means of travel I've ever taken, even the liftoff and landing were very smooth. I couldn't even feel when we lifted off the ground. The views are obviously great and now I can proclaim that I've seen Sedona from every height. I'll never get tired of seeing the Sedona red rocks and landscape, but there's something magical about seeing it from the air early in the morning as the sun rises. Truly spectacular. Our "pilot" Stewart and the ground crew were great and I enjoyed hearing all of the facts about hot air balloons and it's still quite amazing how we are simply riding the wind. Also watching the process of packing and unpacking the balloon is really cool to watch. And the toast at the end was the perfect end to the ride. I'm so glad I got to do this and even with having to reschedule, the new date made the hot air balloon ride the perfect bookend to my trip. Tip: If the winds and weather aren't favorable, if time permits, just reschedule. It's absolutely worth it to have this amazing experience. And these folks know the weather better than the weatherman, so if they cancel it's for good reason.

A great experience led by great humans. Sacrifice one of your early mornings to go high above the rocks, it will be well worth it!!

No better way to see this incredible landscape! Worth the financial investment. The pilots and crew worked hard to make it a safe and memorable experience.

Amazing experience! Absolutely worth it! Gorgeous views! I didn't expect to feel soo safe! Our pilot great!

Amazing experience!!!! From booking the trip , to the confirmation, check in , the experience and the after champagne toast ...EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT! The pilots and all crew were so professional, friendly and funny ! I'm even a bit afraid of heights and expected to be nervous and nauseous ...quite the opposite! The overview and directions eased any nerves and the flight was beautiful, peaceful and something I will cherish and remember. PERFECT DAY !!! Thank you ...The McFaddens Long Island ,NY

Very organized! Friendly staff and competent! We loved it, a beautiful way to enjoy the stunning Sedona environment!!

The entire staff worked together amazingly to create an unforgettable experience and memories to last a lifetime (and that's a tall order)! Our pilot Mark especially made the trip even better with his humor and guidance through the ride. I have to say that coming into this, my 12 year old son and I have a very real fear of heights but Mark made the entire experience one of the best things I've ever done in my life, and there was not one time that I felt nervous AT ALL. Mark and his team are truly great at what they do. I can't recommend them enough!!

If you're thinking about a hot air balloon ride in Sedona, don't hesitate - do it. Yesterday, we flew with Red Rock Balloons and had an unforgettable experience. Mark and his crew were professional, kind, and full of knowledge. From the moment we arrived in the quiet morning light, we were made to feel completely at ease. Watching the balloon inflate as the sun began to rise was breathtaking, and once in the air, the beauty was beyond words. The flight was smooth and peaceful, drifting above canyons and red rock formations as the golden light of sunrise spread across the landscape. Mark's guidance throughout made the journey even more special. After landing, we were treated to a champagne toast with mimosas, sharing laughs with the crew and fellow passengers. I had put this off for years, blaming the cost, but now I know I'll do it again. It's more than just a ride - it's a memory that will stay with you forever. Bucket list worthy in every way. Some of the ancient cave dwelling areas are only accessible by a grueling hike, but we saw them all. The 45 minute trip if well worth the time and worth the added expense over the shorter trips. On our first flight, we developed a warning light and had to land in Sedona after about half the trip. They got us back to Cottonwood and rescheduled us for the next day. The team couldn't have been more accommodating. On the second try everything was great and they went all out to ensure that we had a great experience. Super customer service and consideration for clients. We will definitely recommend and definitely do this again when we are in the area. The Sedona area is beautiful from the ground and fabulous from the air. Just do it!

Not only was the flight and adventure, but the pilot kept a continuous monologue of what we were seeing. So I walked off the chopper knowing more about Sedona's geology, native culture, Ponderosa Pines, how the elk come down the mountainside the snow piles up, and more. I wasn't expecting to see ruins of ancient cliff dwellings, but and was pleased when the pilot pulled along side - that was really cool. The entire experience was safe, well lead and informative. DO IT!

Plane through Sedona valley, to the Skywalk at the Grand Canyon, helicopter down to the Colorado river, float on a pontoon and do it all again in reverse. The ceiling was held together with zip ties, the instrument panel was strictly analog, and the navigation consisted of a $100 Garmin. At the Grand Canyon, we did a helicopter tour (5 minutes), a pontoon boat ride (100 yards), and a "Sky Bridge" walk (they confiscate your phone so they can charge you $60 for pictures). All connected by an inefficient and really slow one-way shuttle bus system. Oh, and 95% Asians, who were all smart enough to take a bus from Vegas. Some Chinese investor funded this oasis, and does all the marketing in China. On the way back, it took 45 minutes to get the plane started, which inspired a lot of confidence in our chances of surviving the flight back. The pilot (great personality) and adventure factor (death defying) give it a two star rating.

That is good because the light pollution is low and it also means the stargazing is probably far better than probably wherever you came from. So, for the "tour," you drive out to the middle of nowhere--to a school, actually--then you walk with your group and guides to a field where they have chairs, blankets, and a bunch of massive telescopes set up. The blankets help but dress warm. In fact, dress warmer than you think. With the wind, it was very cold out during our experience. Now, for stargazing purposes, it is definitely better if the moon is not full, and it is also better if it is not cloudy, but nature constantly reminds us who is in control. We had an almost full, extremely bright moon, and plenty of clouds. But we still had a great time checking out the various stars and planets and even the moon itself. If you are able to plan your tour, try to do it when the moon is at its darkest. The entire tour, if you want to call it that, lasts about an hour. It is not a thrill a minute experience but it is educational and, for those into astronomy, fascinating. This is definitely not for younger kids but mature teens might enjoy it. Plus, you almost certainly will see at least one falling star.

The guides seemed really knowledgeable. My advice is to wear warm clothing. It was really cold when we went in late May. Our tour was at 10pm. They do provide chairs and blankets, which was much appreciated. Like other reviewers, my negative would be the cost. It was $150 each for a one hour presentation. It was a neat experience, but not worth that much in my opinion.

A MUST TO DO IN SEDONA!…read more This would be the third time visiting Sedona in the past three years. Before we had our personal vehicle, we used to go off-road to the trailhead for the Devil's Bridge Trail. However, as the driver, we don't normally get to enjoy the scenic views like our passengers can. Today, we had the pleasure of riding with Lee. SHE IS AMAZING!!! Lee was full of energy and had a lot of knowledge of Sedona, its landscape, and G-wiz. Definitely made this private tour an awesome event this Christmas vacation for our family. At our party were just two adults with one three-year-old. Lee wanted to ensure that we had the proper booster seat or child car seat that would work best for our son. This tour that we had gone on was the Red Rock West. She did brief me that a portion of the trail would be the same route that I had taken a few years back when we drove to the Devil's Bridge Trailhead. I was honestly fine with it, like how I mentioned that I drove that trail before. This time, being the passenger princess, it was nice to actually learn more about Sedona and its beauty. A big benefit was that I could fully enjoy the roller coaster without strategizing my lines going over this dirt road. During this trail, we did have a part where we got gotten of the Jeep and walked around, even exploring the preserved log cabin from the first pioneer of Sedona. As a bumpy-rated trail, it had enough bumps, challenging climbs/descents, and beautiful scenery to keep all parties happy. We are definitely looking forward to going back next time to go on another tour! Thank you, Sedona Offroad Adventures, and especially Lee, for this memorable trip! And please tell Bo that Jax is looking forward to finishing his game of Checkers with you next time! We wish Merry Christmas to the team!

We later found out that the other one cancels a lot more of their tours, so I think we got the better one. The booking process is annoying. They have a website, but you have to call to book. They also don't give you any kind of confirmation number/email or anything. At $250/person, it's not cheap. They pick you up in a shopping center parking lot early in the morning that has plenty of spaces. They can also pick you up at your hotel if you're staying in town. You call the day before to get your pickup time. The ride itself was really beautiful. They put 6 people plus the guide in the basket. It's a tight squeeze and I wish they didn't put so many people in. We happened to get in on the side that didn't have as good of views so it was hard to get pictures. Flight time is 1-2 hours. Once you land they do a champagne toast with a pastry. I wish there was the option to skip this because we didn't really care about it and it took about an hour. I would have rather hit the trails earlier than stand around waiting to be driven back. All in all, I'm glad we did it, but I would look into smaller groups in the future.
