What a cool bar! We stopped in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and enjoyed sitting at the bar. There's an outdoor area which was pretty crowded, but the bar inside is very nice. I had an Old Fashioned, my wife had the Permanent Holiday, and my stepson a Rum and Coke. The drinks were delicious! Officially over the Bluebird experience. They started making pizzas this weekend, so we decided to give their new menu a try. The small bar was fairly full and their small dining room was mainly families with small kids, so we grabbed two seats along the side rail right next to the bar service area and not one person from the 3 guys behind the bar elected to greet us or see if we wanted to order a drink, so we decided to leave. They were too busy chatting with one another (not making drinks). Extremely annoying. I guess they are doing just fine without us. Bummer. Pies looks good from their posts. read more

Talk about a cozy atmosphere with a lovely design layout -- with delicious, complex drinks that match! This might be my favorite place for a high end cocktail in the area. My most memorable drink of the night was ironically my last one, Forbidden Knowledge. It's unusual to say the least, and most people might hate the lovecraftian ingredients, but I enjoy trying something that looks like there's a story behind it. One of my favorite game series is Elder Scrolls, and this drink just screamed Hermaeus Mora and the dark library within the Wretched Abyss. I didn't have high hopes for the taste, but surprisingly, it suited my palette. Sweet, a little bitter, with a tart bite and sharp herbal kick to the senses. Chatted with the amazing bartender who concocted the drinks that night, and he told me that some of them, like this one, came to him in a dream. He showed us the prep work it took to keep the ingredients fresh and ready for mixing. Gotta appreciate the creative energy and effort it takes to designing culinary experiences like this, so hats off to the staff here. They were so open and made us feel very welcome! Somehow this place continues to get better. My husband & I would visit when we were dating, 6 or so years ago. We were worried the pandemic would shut it down but to our surprise bluebird distilling was bigger and better than ever when we returned to town this Spring. On this trip, we enjoyed a soft serve strawberry vodka infused ice cream that was DELIIISSSSH. We also got a few of their signature cocktails, each one better than the last. The ambiance is casual & there's a nice balance of indoor and outdoor seating. Service is casual and effortless, with the staff providing service to any table that asks or looks like they need help (in comparison to a server with a dedicated section). We're also frugal people and we were surprised to see the cocktails cost $10-14/ a drink when they could charge $12-18. But hey! We were pleasantly surprised by how affordable the signature cocktails are and grateful the people of Phoenixville get to enjoy this awesome distillery. We can't wait to come back next time we're in town. Keep up the great work! read more

I've been here over 1/2 dozen times in the past few years and love the craft speakeasy-style cocktails! While the extensive House and Classic Cocktail lists of 30+ cocktails can be overwhelming, try the seasonal cocktails from the House list! I've bought at least 3 bottles of the Honey Whiskey - well worth the $40! Note there is no food or snacks available. The grain to glass distillery has an impressive selection of spirits - bourbon, honey whiskey, rye whiskey, wheat whiskey, single malt, dark rum, citrus vodka, gin, agave blanco salvaje (similar to tequila), and blueberry brandy. There's something for everyone! The "Cool Cool Cool" fruity summer cocktail really hit the spot and tastes like strawberry lemonade. The strawberry, lemon, mint, and ginger beer perfectly masked the rye whiskey and balanced out the flavor. I enjoyed it so much that I got another round. Love the "Incider Information" seasonal fall cocktail with vodka, apple, pear, cinnamon, vanilla, fresh lemon, apple cider vinegar. It was well-balanced with a subtle citrus sweetness. The "Beast of Burden" winter cocktail was another tasty cocktail with a nice fruity twist on a Moscow Mule with vodka, blackberry, fresh lemon, cinnamon, vanilla, and ginger beer. The "Gold Rush" summer cocktail with 4 Grain Bourbon, honey, and lemon was spirit forward and packed a punch! Next time I'll request for Honey Whiskey which might help to sweeten the drink and elevate the flavor. The warm "Mullied Apple Cider" is pipping and Honey Whiskey makes it a fun way to stay warm. The "Gin Chillin" with juniperus gin, ginger, fresh lemon, honey, ginger beer has a bold ginger flavor and tastes like a Moscow Mule. The patio is dog friendly and has plenty of table seating - high top, picnic, and small tables. The bar is are open late to 11pm on Mon & Tues and midnight Wed - Sun. Sadly, there's no food! Found bluebird distilling after visiting their sister coffee shop, Char & Stave in Ardmore, PA. Located about an hour from Philly, Bluebird is whipping up crafty cocktails in the coolest little space. Well actually the space isn't little at all, it has about 4 rooms, including the outdoor patio. The cocktails are relatively affordable ($12-$14) and you can ask for things off the menu like my passion fruit mojito, so long as they already have the ingredients , making on menu drinks. They have something for everyone: gin, vodka, whiskey, rum and even slushees. The distillery is also dog friendly, which is a plus! read more

Ordered the Tropic Thunda frozen drink and it was strong and delicious! The group and I had zero complaints. This is my go-to spot when friends come to visit. The cocktail menu is a great balance of unique drinks with the classic staples everyone enjoys. You can also do a flight of their straight liquors if you're into that. There is plenty of seating inside and out. The staff is friendly and great with suggestions. For parking you can try your luck with metered street spots, but I usually do the church on the corner and do a cash donation. I like to start at Bluebird and then walk Bridge Street. My husband and I stopped here while strolling through town as he has heard excellent things about it. It's a pretty big spot sitting on the corner of Main Street. Theres indoor and outdoor seating which I love. The place itself was clean and had an industrial feel. The staff was awesome! Stopped in for an afternoon cocktail with friends and loved the drinks and the vibe. Bluebird has both indoor and outdoor (uncovered) seating that is appropriately socially distanced, and they kept several doors/windows open to maintain air circulation since it was gorgeous outside when we visited. Each table was equipped with hand sanitizer made at the distillery, which was a smart way to adapt to pandemic life. They make well over a dozen different spirits including rye, bourbon, vodka, rum, and gin. Our friends opted to do a tasting and were a bit overwhelmed choosing just six of their many options (flights include six 1/4 oz pours for $10). Their method of serving the tasting seemed a little bizarre --- they brought over an oversized clipboard equipped with a menu and had placed the cups overtop of the menu listing for what they contained. I think it was particularly confusing because they combined the two flights onto one board, but I'll admit the table wasn't really big enough for a second clipboard anyway. They seemed to enjoy their whiskey options and wound up purchasing a bottle of their seasonal winter whiskey. BF and I opted to trial some of their craft cocktails. I chose the CoolCoolCool (rye whiskey, strawberry, lemon, ginger beer, mint), enticed both by the name (Nine-Nine!!!) and the fruity spring vibes, and I loved it. BF chose the Irreversible Sin (rye whiskey, cinnamon, lemon, vanilla, bitters), which was also delicious, though more of a fall vibe. I am really an alcohol lightweight. But Bluebird can make me want to scroll through every one of their spirit offerings. Yep. Scrape me off of the barstool, fella. I'm done. 13 different spirits available. And a changing cocktail menu that is interesting, not plodding or pedantic. But inventive and inspiring. The bartenders will answer your questions and share knowledge even if the place is full. I loved, pre-Covid, the crowded vibe in one room...kinda a club without music. And the other room had games you could play Jenga or Bananagrams, and sip the beverages until you needed another. The space was wide and the ceilings are high and the backdrop composed of giant barrels either filled or ready for another. Nice to sit amongst the very workings of a live distillery. When I first visited, they had a few favored grains. Now they have a myriad from which to choose. And sometimes, burbon infused maple syrup that I have to say, I hide from my family because it is not a regular product. I am so glad they survived covid and are thriving, there are two other locations, one in Philly. Totally a cool place to sip spirits. read more

Happy Hour is a steal, but only if you're quick enough. From 5-6, all of their cocktails are $7, when they're typically priced from $9-13. Of course, even at full price, the cocktails are worth it; this is not your typical quickly-slung, well gin and tonic (though you likely know that if you're coming to Bluebird). There are lots of pros to Bluebird Distilling. Parking? Check. Though small, a parking lot a luxury not found at most other Bridge St. businesses. Great space? Check. There's a plethora of indoor and outdoor seating, family style and high tops, cozy and modern. However, on the day I visited, there didn't seem to be any air conditioning? It was a bit warm in the barrel room, but there were plenty of other spaces to sit. Very good cocktails? Check, check, and check. I ordered a gin and juice, and the vibrant green cucumber juice was freshly pressed just prior to my arrival - and you could tell in the taste. The bartenders are friendly, but precise, and clearly proud of their craft. Our cocktails were delicious and picture perfect, if that matters to you. Tables are clad with board games. This is a great spot for a date or a lowkey drink. Bartenders are careful with their mixing, so I can see how that could create a bit of wait during a peak visit. Fortunately, on a Tuesday after work, it was very mellow. Be warned: they don't have a kitchen. They sell a few small snacks, but it's a distillery. It's a great for a pre-dinner drink or a night cap. I wouldn't come here if you're looking for rowdy, but rather carefully crafted local spirits. My husband were looking to do some cocktails to go. We wanted to enjoy something with dinner. We called and were told that they did do their drinks to go. We were so happy. They had some interesting hot cocktails that we ordered. A hot chocolate, hot toddy, and a butterscotch drink. We called in the order and my husband picked them up. He said the booze was so strong in his vehicle, he was praying he was not going to get pulled over. Once home we sat outside to enjoy the hot drinks and they were way way way too strong for my taste. My husband enjoyed the hot toddy, but the other two were not enjoyable. Overall, we loved the idea and how well described these drinks were, but it did not taste good. But, their in-house bar is focused on cocktails, and they've hired the best bartenders in all the land so that they have fantastic cocktails with great, homemade mixers, Every cocktail they make is fantastic. They're better than the exclusive speakeasies in the city, better than the drinks at cocktail bars in NYC, DC, etc. The vibe inside is nice. The service is great. But, go for the cocktails... For the most part their spirits are pretty good - they certainly offer some unique flavor profiles. Love the Gin the best. They also have an outside seating area. Like everywhere else on Bridge Street, parking is at a premium. That said, there is a yang to every ying. The price of coolness in this case are drinks that range in price from $11-15 a pop (non happy hour). That gets pricey quick, so nursing a drink is essentially monetary self protection. Someone recommended this place to me for happy hour when I was traveling for work and it was a great choice! They make every cocktail with care right in front of you. They're very detail oriented. We were there during a happy hour special when cocktails were only $7. I wanted to try almost all of the cocktails they had. We ended up getting the Mandela Effect, the Pseudosophistication, the Good Life, the Gin 'N Juice, the Lucid, and the White Curls in a Hot Pink Hot Wheels. My two favorites were the Mandela Effect and the Pseudosophistication followed closely by the White Curls in a Hot Pink Hot Wheels. These were some of the best cocktails I've ever had. All of them were very good. The space was nice too. It wasn't loud or crowded, they had enough seating, and they had games to play while you hung out. They don't have any food there. this is one of my favorite blue state distilleries. we visited several in pa,ct & ny on a recent roadtrip. the four grain bourbon (barrel strength 7yr) was our favorite and the barrel proof rye was also excellent. we got there before they opened, but were invited in by a wonderful woman who even treated us to some homemade egg nog, which was delicious! we didn't stay long, but it seems like a great place to hang out, next time we're in town. we'll definitely be back! read more

I haven't been to a ton of distilleries but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Bluebird should be the gold standard for a distillery with exceptional spirits, fantastic cocktails and a super chill space to sip and enjoy your craftily, concocted beverage. I am typically a fan of the brown alcohols, with bourbon being my first choice. I knew I had to try their old fashioned the first time I came here and am so glad I did. Their bourbon is smoky, yet sweet and smooth. When mixed with ice, a dash of sugar, bitters and an orange peel - it is the old fashion that other old fashions should strive to be like. As Ron Swanson would say, 'clear alcohols are for rich women on diets.' Normally, I would agree but I do enjoy a nice gin or vodka cocktail now and again. I have had a variety of drinks here including gin and vodka ones. Every drink has been a winner in my book. It gets very crowded so be prepared to wait a bit for a drink, but that just means that no short cuts are being taken and every drink is handled with tender, love and care. This was our second visit to Bluebird Distilling. This place does not disappoint if you are someone who appreciates craft cocktails. The atmosphere is hip and the music is also awesome. Our first visit was for after dinner drinks with my son and 7 or 8 of his good friends. We tried several of the bourbon cocktails and they were all amazing. I also highly suggest the tasting menu. We chose mostly bourbon and they were all exceptional. On our second visit we were definitely not disappointed. The three of us had the Led Balloon. It was just as consistent and balanced as the last time we had visited. The sour Italian soda is delicious. I would highly suggest this place to anyone who enjoys an excellent cocktail. Plenty of places to sit, plus a number of board games available to play, and even a couple classic arcade games (Mortal Kombat and Rampage). Their spirits menu is extensive! They make all sorts of types: Whiskey, single-malt whiskey, bourbon, light rum, dark rum, vodka, gin, and so on. Plenty of mixed drinks, from the classics (like a couple takes on the Old Fashioned or Mojito, Mint Julep, Tom Collins, etc.) to more contemporary drinks (like the White Curls in a Hot A Pink Hot Wheels). I had the Campfire Chat, which is a rye whiskey-based drink, and my guest had the Bluebird, which was akin to a fruity, blueberry mojito. You can also order flights of whichever spirit you want. They also sell bottles of their spirits, plus other memorabilia. Going out in Phoenixville, but don't feel like a beer? Start (or finish) your night here.
