We had the unfortunate experience of retaining NorthIndy for a railing project. Initially, I stopped by their store early afternoon to look at some of the product. No one was in, and I waited around the open store for probably 10-15 minutes when someone drove up. He said he was the owner. Very nice initial meeting then the wheels fell off. A lack of communication, many missed installment appts for a 2-man crew who showed up knowing this was second floor and didn't have a ladder. Fortunately, I the homeowner did have one that worked. The installers said they couldn't install part of the railing, so the GC had to install them. We were told there was a mix-up on the order and the wrong railing was ordered. I imagine communication with the GC and NorthIndy was part of the problem. The GC stepped up and installed part of the railing as the NorthIndy crew said they couldn't. Finally, I gave up and just wanted them done and gone. Both the GC and I had to call many, many times to get a call back and answer. I took off work waiting for them on at least 3 occasions only to have to call them and ask where are you? There are plenty of other sources for Westbury products and I'd look for anyone but NorthIndy. I expect a less than responsive reply, without taking any responsibility for their seriously lacking customer service.

The project: rebuilding a 75' privacy fence along the one side of our property to match the other two sides. We were happy with the quote and timeline and moved forward on the project. The one thing that I think would have kicked this experience up a notch would be proactive communication updates on the project each day - even if it were a simple text of where things stand. Based on original conversations, it appeared that knocking out the project in two days would be possible (we and our neighbors both have big dogs to keep separated).unfortunately, the project ended up being more of a five day endeavor due to an error by the builders (the Pretty side of the fence was built facing the wrong direction but they quickly corrected it after we addressed it). Overall, the end result was a beautiful fence despite a few bumps along the road.

The builders spent a lot of time shirtless and smoking cigarettes in my backyard. They had to to come back out to our property 3 times within the first two weeks because of issues. Issue #1: They forgot to concrete in 3 posts. Issue#2: They damaged a panel when they were installing it, they noticed this and then proceeded to turn the panel the other direction facing my neighbors house so that we wouldn't notice. My neighbor witnessed them do this. Issue#3 The gate latch ripped completely off of the gate week 1. Issue#4 The gate installed at the back of our yard was not installed properly and would only open about 6 inches. Our fence is now almost 3 years old. The vinyl fencing has many cracks. The company claims that this is normal and to be expected.

They are professional, have great communication, reviewed progress with me at every major milestone during installation, and built me a darned great cedar board-on-board dog-ear picket fence. The process was not without some minor bumps - I asked them to move and re-set some posts that wasn't perfectly parallel on one side of the yard (they fixed it, right then and there), and there were also some pickets where the wood started to split a couple weeks later (the foreman came out quickly and replaced all of the bad boards himself, personally). And the end-result is just amazing - all of my neighbors, and even people I don't even know, have complimented the build quality. Unquestioningly, I am absolutely impressed by the fence - it is sturdy and high quality, and is everything that I was hoping for. But what impressed me the most was the people. That 4.9 score with over 300 reviews? It almost seems unbelievable, but I can promise you that it is absolutely 100% earned and accurate. They deserve your business.
