There's just enough cream cheese icing drizzled to emphasize, but not hide, the cake itself. I picked up a pecan praline and a carrot cake -- both were good -- but the pecan praline especially stood out for me. That's something since carrot cake is always my first choice. While individual bundt cakes are always available, there are larger versions customizable for any occasion that might be a good alternative to cake. These aren't inexpensive, but for the nearly-two servings size and on special occasions, it's a nice option.

If gluten-free is your life, the bird bread, made with sprouted seeds is also really good. Gluten-free options on some of the treats is also do-able. You can order in advance, get breakfast treats by the dozen to go, or simply take your chances on what is already.

The tea selections are fantastic: white, green, black, rooibos, oolong, herbal and with multiple options within each category. A small sign on the wall will give you a listing of what each category is known such as antioxidant, immune system, low caffeine, etc. When you order your tea, the employees take the brewing process seriously. It isn't just hot water poured over a tea bag, but rather a special machine that heats the water to the precise temperature needed for the particular tea and then steeps the leaves for the appropriate time. (No teabags here, only tea leaves.) Tea City also has bubble tea with all the usual varieties and you can have your tea iced, also, if that's your preference.
