Edit to add: the facility lied to the cops taking the report and said that I wanted to be there and to go to rock springs- That I was not upset and wanting to leave until the psychiatrist said they were just going to put me back on a medicine and said I could go home. oh and all their cameras don't record audio so they can and will lie about everything they say to you. It's all NOT TRUE. I decided I rather be dead than ever spend another moment in a place like San Gabriel crisis center even if it meant MAYBE getting funding to go to rock springs WAY before I saw the dr. . They lie and say they are an extension to rock springs. When in reality they're all just people collecting a pay check and clearly hate their lives/work they do. ---- Went to bluebonnet trails community service because I am uninsured after losing my job in April when my father passed. I wanted medication management and therapy. They recommended an inpatient facility called rock springs and said they had a bed for me but to get funding I had to go to THIS shit hole of a place- all volunteering and on my own will. It is connected to the county sheriff department and where they hold people in a crisis. I got there at 4:20 and by 5pm realized how incompetent the staff were, condescending and uneducated . I essentially had to BEG to call my mom. 40 min later I was able to call her- At this time I had told the case worker I wanted to leave. She said she would not give my mom the address and advised I just wait to see the dr. I agreed to wait to see the psychiatrist when the case manager said she would ask to get me seen sooner.(5:20) In between this time I asked to speak to someone and an African American male with gold in his teeth said "nah, you ain't the only one here you can wait". -- there were TWO other patients. I responded that I wanted to leave and he said "then go!". I said " go get my stuff and I will" he said no. So I slammed my door as hard as I could. A nurse came in and asked what was going on and I said I was told that I'd see the dr soon and it's been over an hour I just wanted to call my mom to tell her to head this way- we live an hour away- she said "I heard her already tell your mom to come, just take a deep breath". Less than 10 min later ANOTHER case worker comes in and says okay let's go call your mom to tell her to pick you up.I responded- oh okay so y'all are liars too. I told my mom to just honk when she was outside. I heard her. They buzzed that it was time for me to leave so I opened the door and they refused to let me out. From 5:20- 9:55pm this place held me there against my will. UNTIL my mom called the police bc she could hear me screaming to let me out and I made the door alarms sound by escaping. I was not court ordered to be there. Or even ordered by a dr. I was lied and told I had to go there to get to rock springs. It's all non sense. You're better off just being suicidal than EVER stepping foot in this place. read more

Was told the price for a mental health evaluation was 130$ which was good compared to other places, 1 month after getting it done I receive a bill in the mail for another 130 totalling it to 260$.. ridiculous!! Pitiful service. Psychiatrists still work from home which shows they truly don't care about helping a population that tends to isolate from other. Therefore, psychiatrists should know the benefit of clients meeting in person. To get a refill on medication, even though I have private insurance, they make clients go through leaving a message on their pharmacy line. However, no one returns your calls or follows up responding to patients' refill requests or even private pharmacy's refill requests. I spoke to a Medical Asst with an extremely thick accent I had trouble interpreting what she said. Basically, she told me to go through the pharmacy line even though I told her I've attempted to do that multiple times, my private pharmacy sent in a refill request but no one responded or followed up. The Med Asst was extremely rude & argued. Since I had a disagreement with a Medical Asst that I could barely understand due to her thick accent & choice of words, my psychiatrist decided to put a diagnosis of "unspecified personality disorder" which is just a way to discredit me. Ridiculous. Find private care! These are not highly skilled mental health "professionals". read more

I rate as a one because when I first started coming to them in 2019 I did a intake plus I gave them all my medical records after that I saw a doctor but after when the COV-19 hit everything changes I had change doctors to at that time i barely see my doctor they works from home if they supervisor want every back in. The office why the doctors not back in the office on futher about when you first come there don't they supposed do your finial aid but seem like they probably forgot but last Friday I had to update my financial with them asking for my medical records from my primary doctor they should have all that information something funny about blue bonnet staff members not all them funny but some them actually crazy in the office there though read more

Walked in to do my intake paperwork and was mandated to take a drug test before they would consider helping me. Fine, whatever. I've nothing to hide. Was told that it would take 6 weeks to see someone and that they'd call me to set something up. I called back after four weeks because I still haven't heard from anyone and the receptionist told me that they should have made an appointment when I did my intake. No one here's knows wtf they're doing. I told them I needed immediate help and they made no effort to accommodate me. Once again I feel invisible and like I don't matter. This place is the antithesis of being helpful. I'd give zero starts if I could. read more

This place is an absolute joke! I called them because my husband lost his medication, was acting very psychotic and had made threats to various things. What did they do? THEY CALLED MY HUSBAND AND TOLD HIM I CALLED THEM ABOUT HIM. He played the perfect gentleman card and told them he was just fine. Of course he won't admit to threats and acting insane! What did they expect!? They have ZERO compassion for what this is now going to cause when I go home from work this afternoon. My husband has called the police so many times, they have told me they are about to stop responding to our address. When my husband is like this, he will not leave me alone. I will get at least 100 texts and 50 calls during the day. If I am at home, he wakes me up every 30 minutes to an hour. Bluebonnet "can't" do anything about him and the police "can't" either unless he is a threat to someone else or himself RIGHT NOW. The law always protects the wrong people. read more

If I could give negative stars, I certainly would. My husband suffers from disorders that keep him from literally "living" his life. As a community we should be 'acutely aware' that help is essential to those humans. He was given a card for his follow up that gave him a date and time... the date and time came and a phone call did too... That phone call said, "we cannot help you because every doctor is on vacation and we don't have anyone to see you"...!! Next appt is another month out! What?? If you're going to provide services, then stand by your dang terms and appts you make! Liars or careless humans? You decide. He was given the appt in May, for a June 24th appt that has now turned into a July 20 something appt.... if he makes it there. They discount people with essential brain-health needs that are incredibly important -Just AS important- as anyone needing a pacemaker, an ultrasound, an MRI.... If your husband, wife, son, daughter, boyfriend. dad, mom, were living at their most toughest and drawn out drag ass hardest moment, well then you'd try too! But apparently these people are void of genetically being prone to -anyone- in their family being less than worthy on the mental scale. Selfish, ignorant and egotistical people running this. I've seen a lot of really demanding people, with high expectations of this place, I wonder if they stop to consider that this place does A LOT with limited resources. I wish I could dip the stars into the negatives. My first time walking into the behavioral therapy section of this place, First thing I notice is all the how and when to pay signs they have posted. Not one person asked how my day was or if I needed to seek out professional help right there and then. ALL THEY WERE WORRIED ABOUT IS WHO, WHEN they were getting paid. I am a 100% P&T disabled Marine Veteran who was sent here by the VA because of their back log helping other veterans. I even said to the coordinator if all they want is money this isn't the place for me. I highly recommend going some where else for your care. read more

I sought out Autism services and intellectual & developmental disability services for my 4 year old daughter through Bluebonnet Community Trails. On the IDD side, we only took advantage of a small part of the respite services, specifically the summer camp voucher. It allowed my kiddo to take part in a two week social skills camp for free! The social worker also informed us of some waiting lists to sign up for future services through the state. The ABA therapy, through the Autism services, is what really blew my mind. Before starting ABA therapy, our child was exhibiting serious behavior problems, self-harming, suffering from several phobias and was rarely speaking in full sentences due to a language delay. Working with one of the ABA therapists, Jen, has been life-changing for our family. Our child no longer self-harms, is on target with language development, engages with other kids and has conquered her fears. Her behavior is so much improved now that Jen has showed me how to reward the behavior I want and extinct the behavior I don't want. I have so much more confidence in my parenting style and my ability to help my child meet any challenge that may come her way. The future is bright! Thank you Jen! read more

The most inefficient place! Daughter had appt and dr was 3people behind! NOT even a phone call to reschedule - as my daughter was going to be late for work if she kept the appt. Rescheduled and now we are waiting and others have gone in before when we have the second appt of the day? Office staff is rude and drs are incompetent . My daughter was told she needed a caseworker but we were told her Dr WAS her caseworker and had been for 3 months. The lady just giggled and said "whoops" that is incorrect. Wow- just wow. We sought help elsewhere- this experience was awful. read more

Jen, Jessica, and the staff have helped my family ease our worries about our daughter with IDD and Autism. They provide therapy and help you navigate autism state and local resources. This is not the place for depressed people to go. They don't care about helping. It's just a job to them. Everyone was very unprofessional, the office seems like it's run so inefficiently. I went in for intake with all my paperwork to which they then said I'd have to make a seperate apt and come back to do the actual intake, so I did. They called me 10 minutes before my apt to tell me the intake person I am supposed to see was out sick and asked me to reschedule for the second time. It is hard for depressed people to reach out for help and they make it a million times harder. read more

I found the whole process of getting an appointment like some kind of a prison system as seen on TV. Total disrespect of a humans personal privacy and no clue as to someone's history. After a couple calls I ran the opposite direction and felt happy to do so. It might be OK for people sentenced to prison but not for people who are everyday hard working Americans. Horrific. Avoid. Went here some time ago to seek treatment for persistent depression. I was not on any medications at the time and was hoping to be offered an anti-depressant or other options. After a several month wait, I finally got in. The doctor talked to me for about 3 minutes asking general questions and then proceeded to tell me that I should submit to ECT (electro-convulsive therapy, or, "shock" treatment). I asked for an alternative and was prescribed Geodon and Risperdal. I investigated these medications and found them to be anti-psychotics for people with schizophrenia and similar serious illnesses. I contacted the doctor and asked him what my diagnosis was and I was told, "dysthymia" which is basically chronic depression. I asked about the appropriateness of using anti-psychotics if I was not psychotic and the doctor couldn't really give me a coherent answer. When I asked about anti-depressants, I was offered an MAOI which are hardly ever used anymore. I wanted a second opinion so after several more months and a lot of protest, they allowed me to see another doctor there. This other doctor didn't even look at me through the entire meeting and was busy filling out paperwork while asking, "well, what do you want". I told her my story and she told me there was nothing that she could do. I asked, "so you can't treat someone with depression?" Her answer was shocking, "Nope. Not when there is no depression or anything else wrong with you". Irritated, I responded, "Well if there is nothing wrong with me, I find it highly questionable that the other doctor I talked to wants to give me two anti-psychotics and electro-convulsive therapy". She responded, "Yeah, and you didn't want to do it which leads me to believe you're just here for attention, or maybe you're filing for disability. I don't know". I have used both the MH and MR side of Bluebonnet Trails and have always got excellent service for the number of people they have to work with. I have always been treated with respect and fairly. I do not know what I would have done if I had not had help with the severe depression and stress I was going through. As for the MR side; the autism testing is reasonable and they help explain every detail of the test. The Day Hab, seems to run efficiently and appears to be getting better. read more

I was referred by my daughter's school counselor. She needed help with anxiety and depression. We went to the intake appointment and waited for an hour and 45 minutes to see someone. They tried to talk us into a urine test for drugs and seemed very irritated that we refused. {this is not a concern of ours} We were sent back to the waiting room for another 15 minutes. Finally we were taken to a room where we had to talk to the person on a video screen, in which he never looked directly at us. He said he wanted to set up an appointment with their psychiatrist who could set up medication with her? Not having even talked to her yet and that was the first thing they said/assume would be done? This didn't sit well with me nor instill any confidence in them for me. We opted for the counselor route and left with him saying a counselor would be calling me to set up the appointment. Fast forward 4 days with no call. I call back on day 5 just to be told that she is on a wait list.... that is *6 months long* and if I needed help in the meantime, we could make as needed walk in appointments with whoever is on staff that day. I don't like this option as I'd like her to get to establish a relationship with one person. It's hard for her to start with someone new, revealing things that are hard for her to talk about with strangers. I guess if I'm not shelling out bigger money for the psychiatrist {over a counselor} and medications, my child's welfare isn't a priority. Incredibly disappointing! read more

Horrible. Great at paper shuffling and wasting your time. Great at providing bureaucratic nightmares! They have great brochures/handouts that suggest all kinds of services. It took three trips (they don't answer phones or return phone calls) and finally a visit with a supervisor before the real intake and jumping through the hoops began. (You really need skill to figure out which office to go through in the maze of hallways.) My son clearly qualifies, but they finally admitted they have very long wait lists, not enough providers, not enough workers,,,. Respite, ABA, residential assistance, psychiatric care is really out of the question in reality - but their brochures say otherwise. They finally called and said we qualify for "general revenue" assistance, but would not say what service actually was covered or available. Still no services whatsoever. We have been waiting for EIGHT months. We then got a call that another man at another location would be assisting and that our paperwork was sent to him - nope - he turned out to be just another intake person who said we would have to go through the whole application process all over again and that his wait lists were MUCH longer and his personnel more stretched. And he only can ACTUALLY provide barely 30 minutes a month despite ALL the rhetoric about all the services he says he provides! You see, it is easier to pay for brochures and bureaucracy that to really help people. This is the reality - just like the VA - bureaucrats collecting paychecks for time spent in a bureaucratic malaise. Update - Eight months later - no services. read more
