Many of them are in their twenties and some of them have just an ok knowledge of products, but everyone I interacted with was very nice. I bought a pretty expensive serum off of a recommendation and ended up having an allergic reaction (not her fault I have really picky skin) and everyone was very apologetic and the return was a breeze. I tracked down almost every associate in the store to see what they'd all recommend, and was pleasantly surprised at all of their knowledge and their willingness to help. I think they were definitely more willing to help people who seem like they will drop some $ here. Which, in all fairness, they are working a sales floor and this is their job. A good trick I've picked up is leading with "price doesn't matter" (even if it does lol) when asking for help, and seeing what they recommend off the bat. If it's out of my range, then I'll ask if they've found a drugstore dupe for the high end product then compare the two. In general, their selection of drugstore options is WAY more limited than ULTAs is. If you want good dupes and more to pick from I'd go to ULTA. Sephora does offer some high end brands and more expensive products in general, but it's a good place to find a nice addition to my normal product lineup. The bulk of my cosmetic shopping is at ULTA and I save Sephora for special splurgy items. I ended up grabbing a laneige moisturizer (I trust anything k beauty) and a inky list redness serum and both have worked beautifully for my skin. With that said.... its the only place I can still find the discontinued perfumes that I love (which are also, consequently, the only perfumes I can wear on account of my allergies). I can find my Donna Karen Chaos and my Emporior Armani, Emporio Armani White, and Emporio Armani Night. So this is where I go for all my perfume. They carry EVERYTHING -- you name it. If they don't have it, they will special order it for you and get it in the store ASAP without charging shipping or fees. That's the type of place I love to shop -- great service, anything is possible. The owner can help you find anything. The prices are awesome... better than Sephora or department stores. The guy down the hall that NEVER talks to me, was sho' on my line after he walked past me and got a swift of this smell! Him: "Whoo! Porsche, whatever you have on smells AMAZING!" Me: "Well, thank you! I recently went on vacation and found an amazing perfume store that sells an abundance of body oils that last me all day!" Him: "I must say, it smells great on you, whatever it is!" (As he smiles at me) Yup! I blame it all on Nur Perfume, a family owned perfume store that sells over 100 different body oils, incenses, essential oils, black seeds, and soaps. Whatever you want for your body, they have it! My girlfriend and I stopped in here as we were checking out downtown Richmond and taking pictures of all the murals. I couldn't miss Nur Perfumes as they have a huge sign over their building. As I am a lady that loves smelling fresh, I was excited to come in here and check it out. As I walked in, I quickly noticed their selection of oils on the back wall. Nur, the owner of the store and his sister, Sakara, spent over an hour with me as I smelt all of the body essential oils. Good thing we were the only ones in the store, HA! Nur Perfumes offers different sizes catering to your needs. Once you find an oil that you like, you then select your price size and Nur will place the oils in the small tubes and label them for you. The prices are extremely reasonable. I love that they have ALLL the perfumes that you could think of. As soon as I told Nur what type of smells I liked, he didn't hesitate to provide me with scents that were a perfect match! Now, ladies, they even have some scent names that will surprise you! My big eyes got excited when I read an oil that read, "Pussy". I quickly looked at Nur and said, "Ohh, I need that Pussy in my life". And sure nuff', I did! Their scents last you all day, better than perfumes from Bath and Body works or Victoria Secret. Best of all? They ship to ANYWHERE! I am totally set for a couple of months with my recent purchases, but I can't wait to begin shopping online for more scents. Nur Perfumes, I am in LOVE! Do you hear me? She walked us through the history of perfumery and the categories of scents. We were free to sniff at any and all of the scents as we desired. We were then off to create two perfumes that we wanted. The only limitation was our own imagination! I set my mind on a summer one (Spring day with fresh flowers and clean linen) and winter one (eating my favorite cookies near the Christmas tree). It was such a blast attempting to create these scents and smelling how the different scents would work with each other. Despite the tall order, I was able to concoct the exact perfumes in my mind's eye with Sherry's help. My hubby created a beachy evening one and a mulled wine one that smell amazing, too. This was such a unique, memorable experience and I especially loved the shared experience with my partner. I love perfume and have a few scents on rotation so it was really neat to learn more about the craft and create my own. I can't recommend this studio enough!
