Worst customer service ever. They talked me into buying a product that made my whole skin burn and the area around my eyes red for days. I went to exchange it a few days after the return policy had expired and they said no, even though I've spent $1000s of dollars there. I came in yesterday and everyone was so nice!!!! They gave me advice, i asked for samples since my skin is very sensitive and didn't want to buy something that would irritate my skin. I washed my face once I got home, used the samples and loved the results. I ended up buying the products they recommended for my skin online. I am giving 2 stars only because I want to give heavy thank you and about out to the lovely girl from hourglass ! She was not pushy and lovely to deal with ! I forgot her name but I was in the store on Thursday the 28th of March - at around 2pm. She got 5 stars ! Unfortunately, the woman at the cashier was atrocious! She was sharp and nasty . I kept my mouth shut because I knew it would end in altercation. All I was doing was exchanging the product, and she snarled at me about why ? She also did not check on gift w purchase after the hourglass woman had asked her to do so ! She was a great example of how much customer service is dead ! Ashleigh is super helpful I just went into the store I was very overwhelmed by hair product since I'm extremely low maintenance She took the time to show me how to use hair spray (I'm not kidding, I'm super hair illiterate ) She also showed me and applied this amazing blush She also knows all about Vegan products My husband and I are Vegan She explained to me the difference between just "not tested on animals " and "Vegan" Her colleagues were very friendly The store is very clean and bright Great location Easy to jump in and out And Trish mascara is the best . Yaasss, yaass, yaasss! A great addition to the neighborhood. Thank you for joining us! Bluemercury is the bright-eyed, optimistic counterpart to the sometimes intimidating Sephora. Although in its infancy, this location is the best I've ever been to. I've stopped in to browse or purchase three times and all three times were wonderful experiences. The staff was eager and friendly but no pushy. They were generous with samples and introduced me to new products. This spot has excellent brands such as Fresh, Caudalie, Laura Mercier, NutraBisse. They have European brands you might not find elsewhere. It's extremely helpful that they'll give you a sample to see if you like the product before dropping a c- note on an eye cream that could potentially not be match. They also have cosmetics and make-up applications, which I have not participated in but looks fun. I'll be back soon and often. The staff at this location were awesome. Samir color matched me and did an excellent job. He had such a vibrant personality and took his time to explain the product. Jacqueline was also very wonderful. She gave me an overview of the Chanel skin care products and I can't wait to try them out. Very bad experience with Manager. She was a 55 year old woman with Freckles all over her face, and dark hair who was rude and unapologetic for her attitude. When I asked the young man at the register if he can grab me two lipsticks that I was interested in purchasing, the manager walked over and said to me " give me the lipsticks." I told her, her comment was rude and unnecessary and she shouldn't speak to clients that way. She refused to apologize and asked me to leave. Will never buy from here again! read more

Four stars because of one employee. I'm sorry, it's just my experience. Walking in, there was one employee that was very friendly and helped me find what I wanted. I wish he helped me at the counter, too. This tall freckled-face woman was all smiles with the previous customer and then I step forward with my product in hand and the smile drops. I have no clue why she was so serious towards me. It just ruined my happy experience. Was it because my product wasn't over $40? From the receipt it says her name is Rochelly. A+++ to Kelsey. She helped me stay super low maintenance and figure out how to incorporate sunscreen. She set me up with a Nars primer with SPF and a concealer to help even out skin tone. She wasn't at all pushy and was super helpful in explaining exactly how to use the products. Love that the store is clean and not crowded. read more

Annoying that the google search leads to hours of 10-7 everyday, which this store on Greenwich doesn't open til 11 on sundays--store needs to update this!! Otherwise store experience is mostly as expected. Staff can never find the products/colors I'm looking for due to very poor organization of makeup at each blue mercury store I've been to. read more

So annoyed with this location. Purchased a mascara three weeks ago and the sales assistant double charged my card by accident. Instead of refunding it she told me to dispute it with my credit card which I'm now ten calls and three weeks later still trying to do. Very disappointed in lazy staff here. read more

The one star is the rating for the sales people - not the products. If you know exactly what you want - you're good. Nice mix of brands that Sephora does not carry or brands they do, but organized in a nicer fashion. If you need help or have a question- you're out of luck. I was looking for a gift and there did not have what I originally wanted. How hard is it to help someone find a body scrub and shower gel ? Apparently very. How hard is it to put tissue paper in the bag to make it look nice. Apparently very. Apparently I'm the first person to ever buy a gift in the store. I could go on - but I won't. read more

I accidentally left my entire travel kit back in Los Angeles and stopped in here for hair and facial product. Sadly I have been using the same brand & items so many years I could barley recall what they were. Although the store did not have most of what I use the sales associate (Aubry according to the receipt) was very helpful in getting me sorted out on the fly. Excellent customer service. read more

Having been in a few times now, I can easily say that today was the last. I was excited for a most welcome alternative to Sephora joining the neighborhood...but don't dare mention the dreaded S-word! More on that later. On each of my first two visits, I was completely swamped by circling associates, despite having noted I was just browsing the new shop. Tres uncomfortable - I ended up leaving, empty-handed, in under a few minutes each time. The next time, I went in for some Bumble & Bumble Dryspun Finish, knew exactly where it was so I nabbed it within seconds, and then waited awkwardly at the counter for no less than five minutes before having to ask one of *four* associates in the totally empty store to come check me out. She did apologize profusely as clearly they had all seen me standing there, so, points on that one I guess. Today, I went in to look for a specific Nars lipstick that didn't appear to be on display. One of the associates (out of three, another of whom was busily putting on her own full face of makeup for the day) offered that although unlikely, they might have it in one of the stock drawers. While that associate checked, another asked if I had seen the color recently, as they only carry the 'current collection.' I said I had seen it in a magazine this month, and on quick search, showed her that the first Google result just happened to show it as "in stock" at Sephora.com. BAD IDEA. She then gave me a mini-lecture about how, and I quote, "that means absolutely nothing. Sephora stock is outdated so it's probably not even a current line." Whoa, nelly. I actually laughed as she continued on defensively, because it was profoundly awkward and so unnecessary. I can appreciate that then, it was rude of me, but I ended up cutting off her tirade, repeating 'okay, thanks anyway, okay...okay, thanks, nope, got it, understood, it's fine, thanks anyway, no really, got it, please, thanks, bye' and walked out. Oh, and at time of writing, Nars pure matte in Mascate *is* part of the current line (per nars.com, not Sephora, don't worry). All in all? I'll suffer the Sephora crowds to spare the varying (and completely unwarranted) levels of both indifference and attitude at Bluemercury. read more
