I checked out this downtown lounge in Spartanburg last night and really liked it. It's underground with late night vibes, tasty drinks, cigars, and entertainment. I'm 30, and while most of the crowd was 40 plus, there were people my age too. You could tell a lot of the people there were regulars. Everyone was kind. The music was a nice mix, not too old school and not too modern. A decent volume. The owner said they sometimes have live music as well. This place has multiple TVs for sports, karaoke, plenty of seating, and really good ventilation. I don't smoke, and the cigar smell didn't bother me at all. The back den area was calm, private, and had a TV. They also have VIP lockers and updated cameras, which made the place feel safe. The food and drinks were good and came out in a decent time. The owner, Desmond, took over this place four years ago and was very welcoming. We even played a game of chess and he beat me. The whole place felt friendly, almost like visiting family. Yoooo it's a whole vibe... the old school smooth laid back music was just what we needed... no rachet ghetto foolery. We got wine recommendations from "D" and loved them. She gave us a tour of the place, told us about the membership and was a pleasure to talk to. Once the dj set up and started playing it was an added bonus to the vibe that was already set. You have to go here. This is the coolest place in all of Spartanburg. Located in a basement of an old building. It is just a great place to relax and drink. Don't expect to be able to talk. it gets really loud! Seating get full and can be hard to get a good spot. read more

Great atmosphere, great music. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Wait staff was completely inept. Once a drink was ordered the waitress would come back to the table 10 minutes later and ask what you had ordered. 20 minutes after that the drink came to the table. On top of that they charged you for twice the amount of drinks you had ordered. Owner went ahead and ran the credit card for the incorrect amount after being told the tab was incorrect. I was in town on business, not expecting to find any entertainment. I drove by and saw "Jazz" on the sign and had to check it out. Pleasant environment, great music, nice people and conversation, & the best chicken and waffles. This club is the best thing this town has to offer. I stumbled upon this place one Friday night and it was instantly then and there that I said to visit this place each time I'm in town . The owner is very nice and her help is the best . Located in the basement of an old downtown Spartanburg building, Blues Boulevard is a cool, little club with big sounds. It has a modish, candle-lit décor complete with hanging lamps over the tables. Watch those lamps! Everyone bumps into them. This venue presents blues and an assortment of new, old style and smooth jazz. Artists are drawn primarily from the Carolinas. There's a wealth of talent here, so it's not necessary to cast the net further. Melodius Earth, often booked for Fridays plays classic jazz from the 50's and 60's. Amazing food! Come as you are. Everyone is welcome and their staff are the coolest people ive met in Spartanburg. I watched one of the guys there make my burger and i swear it was made with the precision of James Beard nominated chef. The owner of this establishment is very rude & disrespectful. You need to learn how to speak to people when having a conversation with them. You will not stay in business long talking down & treating people the way you do. You really need to have an attitude adjustment. read more

Just happened in last night and really enjoyed ourselves. The band was great. Drinks good. Staff friendly. Food looked good too although we didn't eat. I assume it wasn't very packed because of the cover charge...after all, live music is free at Delaneys. But pay the cover, you won't regret it. We'll definitely go back. read more

Great place to kick back! If you like jazz/blues music, this is a great place to spend the evening. They have open jam nights for performers (something this town could use more of) and the place is right next to Wild Wing & Lime Leaf (& a bunch of other places), meaning that if you want to break from all the music you can! The location is perfect, the staff is really friendly, and the drink specials are great. My advice would be to go on a night when there is no cover and see if you like it or not. It would be really nice to expand the local jazz community and this might just be the place to do it. read more
