I visited Jack n' Diane's with a paid reservation and had a very negative interaction with the owner. While my party was being seated, I stopped by the completely empty bar. After waiting several minutes and finally being acknowledged, I politely asked the bartender for a canned beverage. She said I could not order from her and had to order from my waitress. When I noted that no waitress had visited our table yet, I politely asked to speak to a manager. At that point, the owner immediately emerged and erupted with a profanity-laced tirade, using extreme verbal aggression and telling me to get out, claiming I was "jumping ahead." We left immediately. The venue itself was clean, but the management style felt hostile and unpredictable. I've since found years of similar reports on community forums and other travel sites regarding hostile owner interactions and a reportedly toxic environment for staff. There has even been past litigation involving serious workplace allegations. I strongly encourage anyone to do their own research beyond the star ratings before deciding to support this establishment. I will not be returning. read more

He's incredibly rude and demonstrated low IQ and EQ levels. The pianists have liberties on who can and can't go on stage and discriminated me based on my gender (I'm a white male and they clearly only wanted people on stage who identify as women. Additionally, if the pianists do not like your group, the bar staff will overcharge you. Do not recommend going. In addition to paying, I was charged 4 times for different exuberant amounts of money the next day when I was no longer there. I was almost out $800 when I had originally paid $200. Luckily, I kept my receipt and was reimbursed, however the shady business of trying to double/triple charge your patrons is absolutely disgusting. Had a fun time listening to the performers. A group of three of us had sat down and got our order taken. As we waited for food, our drinks came out. We were encouraged by the performers and staff to move closer to the pianos as other groups left the bar. We never got our food. Our server was busy tending to a table of about ten people who were sitting in our old spot. He rang them out before us even though we had been standing ready to leave after the pianos had finished for the night. They were all sitting and clearly sticking around. After waiting for about 7 minutes for him to notice us, he finally came over. We told him we never got our food, and he told us he gave the food to the old table, which he had opened new tabs for but didn't think twice and confessed he had given our food to the larger group. Pretty pathetic service. Music was decent. One of the piano players/performers, a girl with braids and side shaves, was really giving and kept the party going. If she hadn't been there it wouldn't have been half as fun. I ordered a margarita bowl and didn't feel even a buzz. Tasted more like a lemonade with limes. If you go here, it's for the music. My husband and I went there on 2/15. We were treated well, thoroughly entertained, and had an amazing night! We actually witnessed the 21st birthday fiasco that is referred to in another post. I have to say that I have never seen a grown woman so angry over having to delay balloons and cake for later. She was extremely rude to the wait staff and doorman (wouldn't even let the poor guy help by discarding the deflated balloons). I felt sorry for them. Reserved a table and even got there early. We were excited because this was our second time there and we had a lot of fun the last time (over 8 months ago). It was over $70 for 6 of us to reserve a table. They let you pay money for song requests so each time we tried to request a song we got skipped over without even the decency of "we don't know this song pick another" paid a total of $40 to them stupidly. If you go just enjoy others song requests and don't waste your money on your own. Oh and the waiter told us if we gave them $20 we could do "the wheel of destiny" this is also a lie. I am so disappointed with this establishment. We could not get a glass of tapwater for free even with the purchase of a meal and cocktails. How can you serve food and not give free tapwater? Customers have to purchase a bottle for $3 if they need water. My objection isn't about the money. It's about the principle. What would they do if a customer has had a couple of drinks and wants to stop drinking and have a glass of water so they can be a responsible driver? Not reserved by other parties or set by a $ limit (could not answer why we couldn't be seated besides "we need to fill the front") How does one get a booth? We're a reasonable bunch - tell us how to reserve or what the spending requirement is and we'll make a decision.... But a faceless blanket no at one of our favorite bars really negated plenty of positive previous visits. Not getting our cover back didn't help either. Shuffled out of there ignominiously. Had a fun night at Jack n' Diane's! We reserved a table ahead of time which was $10 a person. I'm glad we did because it got packed with some people kind of awkwardly standing around. Our server was very attentive and we never went without a drink or a snack. The drink menu, however, does leave a bit to be desired. All of the drinks are super sweet with a lot of fruit juices. The main drink colors I saw coming from the bar were blue, pink, and green AKA a hangover in a glass. Definitely opt for a simple mixed drink or beer if sweet drinks aren't your thing! The music was also very good and they take requests. If you have a special occasion like a bachelorette party, they even let you go up on stage, which was very entertaining. If you're celebrating a birthday, prepare for them to basically berate you on stage. It was funny for the crowd, but I can't imagine what it was like to be up there. They played all of the classic piano bar songs and I wished they would have tried to do the more "out there" songs that you wouldn't typically hear on a piano. It's a bit raunchy at times. Don't get pushed on stage by your friends celebrating your birthday unless you are very open to some good natured insults. Food was OK bar food. Beers were reasonably priced. The few mixed drinks that were passed around seemed to be rather light on alcohol... lots of ice. The place was crowded. Multiple long tables so you may be sitting with someone unfamiliar. The wait staff was very attentive, especially considering the high noise level and general raucous atmosphere. I cannot say enough about how talented & entertaining the pianists (who are also vocalists) are. Those musicians gave so much of themselves!! You won't find better entertainment anywhere! There was never an interruption in the music, the entire night, as there were multiple pianists, who switched off while one was taking a short break; so, while the musicians were interchanging throughout the night, the music never once stopped!!! There is a $5 cover charge (we paid $10 because we made reservations) and it's well worth 20 times that. I'd happily pay $100 + for that kind of entertainment (I've purchased concert tickets that cost way more and the shows weren't nearly as entertaining as the folks at Jack n' Diane's)!! The owner of this place is a jerk. Don't bother going and give this place your money. My friend forgot to pay a tab and they had the CC but messed up charging it. They will put a warrant out for your arrest no matter how much your bill is. Even once it settled then the owner is such a loser that he will "forget" to close out the warrant. Be prepared to be patient with the crowd, the long wait for your drink, and as the night goes on, the overly drunk patrons - many of which are in groups at long tables. The cover charge to get in is $5 and, no free water. It costs $2. We went after dinner, about 8:30, just to check it out. We were lucky enough to get there before the late crowd and we got a couple of seats along the railing/bar to the side of the pianos, which gives you a good view if you don't mind not being at a table. The piano players started about 8:45 and they were pretty good. They started taking requests, some songs of which were not necessarily well known, but they did great for the most part with music and lyrics. The players do switch up, and some are better than others. On a couple of songs the full band came on stage with guitars and drums, and I was surprised AND impressed to see a female drummer. I was in awe since this is something I've always wanted to do, and she made me want to go and take lessons! We left about 10:30 and it was already standing room only, hot, and it was getting crowded and a bit crazy. When we went out, there was a line at the door waiting to get in. They then let two more people in, so they do keep tabs on the crowd. Overall, it was a fun experience and we're glad we tried it. Maybe this particular place is better left to the younger crowds that like to drink beverages from fish bowls, but it's worth a try at least once. read more

The atmosphere was great and had an audience ranging from our age to middle aged adults and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. So the short story is that I had fun at Jack n' Diane's, but I can't give it a good rating because of some pretty major issues. 1) Don't charge for water at your GREENVILLE SOUTH CAROLINA restaurant. Or don't include free water unless people are ordering other drinks or food. My friend and I spent $140 on drinks and I can't get free water? Screw you, honestly. 2) Speaking of which, I'm totally okay with a cover charge, but the drinks are overpriced. 3) The piano players were rude as hell. You're playing at a piano bar in Greenville, so again, get over yourselves. They were making snarky comments about the customers all night. I'm sorry, but I didn't wander into a Dick's Last Resort. Oh, and if I give you $15 to play a specific song and you refuse to play it, give me my money back. Also tipped an average of $2-5 per song, were there from 7:30 PM until past 1 AM, and they didn't play half the songs we requested. More understandable than the $15 thing, but still frustrating. 4) Food is okay. My friends enjoyed their burgers but the fries were undercooked and the spinach-artichoke dip was barely passable. Basically I'll only end up here again if I'm forced to come as part of an official party, which is how I ended up here in the first place anyway. The wait staff are always friendly and the musicians are awesome. Matt, Zack, Jonathan, and the rest of the crew are always entertaining and love to have fun with the crowd....plus they can play almost any song requested. I have visited on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays....and so far my best time was on a Saturday! For me..it seemed like there were more single ladies there on Saturday...so if your looking to maybe meet someone or even make new friends this is such a great atmosphere to do it. Terrible customer service. Was promised a booth and then denied it even though all 5 booths were available. Manager refused to discuss. We were denied the return of our cover charge even though we were only there 5 minutes and did not order any drinks.
