Poke nachos
Kayla S.

I came here with my family on a Thursday afternoon. We were a party of eight and they were able to see us a little bit earlier. Sitting outside is lovely and there are umbrellas for shade. However, the train does come by every now and then, and it can get a little bit loud. The server was very attentive and was checking up on us consistently. Now... onto the food. The food was amazing. We came during happy hour, and we ordered the poke nachos, the crab and artichoke dip, and the fish tacos. Everything was incredible. The fish was very fresh and prices are reasonable. Another star of the show was the shrimp tacos, which are not pictured. The calamari was super crispy. I also got the fish and chips which were delicious. The fries were crispy and the tartar sauce was great. I will definitely be coming back here.

Delicious warm bread

I've been coming to Bluewater for years now. I have to say I've had some good experiences and some not so great. This night was bad. I arrived to meet friends who were already seated. They had bread, but ordered more for us late comers. It was a while before a server came to the table, long enough that when he came to take our drink orders we had viewed the menu and were ready to order our food too. He was friendly and patient though. We again requested the bread that never came prior. They were somewhat busy as it was happy hour so we waited a bit. We just chatted and caught up. After a while we once again requested bread as it still hadn't been brought to us. Third time was a charm and we were finally brought bread. The bread was the highlight of the meal. Served warm, it is soft inside and crunchy out side with a soft butter accompaniment. Shortly thereafter, our food arrived except for one of our party's orders. Two people ordered firecracker shrimp and they were cold upon arrival. One decided to send it back. Sadly my scallops were so rubbery that the provided fork and spoon could barely cut through it. (You can see my picture from the last time I had this dish and the drastic difference was clear) I hate sending food back so I ate it but it was pretty bad. The missing order arrived and it was supposed to be blackened fish tacos. The ratio of cabbage and salsa on top to the small amount of fish in the taco was disappointing, as was the lack of seasoning. Also, we would have liked more water but it was never offered and we didn't see the server until we waved him down for the check. I've tried a lot of items on their menu over the years but the lack of quality and consistency I experienced on this night may have me rethinking that choice, unfortunately.

Bluewater Grill is my go-to for generous portions of fresh and flavorful seafood. I've been to this location a couple of times since it's in walking distance. It has both a casual and intimate atmosphere which is really nice. The service from staff especially at the bar could be better...may depend on the staff and may depend on which day. I wish it was consistent in terms of attentiveness. As a result, I honestly have mixed feelings about my overall experience.

Mother's Day lunchtime, and it was busy. Three of us were seated at a great indoor table to watch the people traffic on the Village. Ordered Fisherman's platter, Sautee Sand Dabs, Pan-seared Salmon and Shrimp cocktail appetizer--and endless bread basket. And a house momosa for Mom. All the food was fresh and cooked to perfection. Excellent service provided by James.

Just came here last night and omg, everything was SOOO GOOD!! It blows some of the other seafood restaurants out of the water...literally!!! Came here last night and was greeted with nice staff and seated at a nice table. Complementary warm sourdough bread!!! You had me at that! My mom and I ordered the octopus as an appetizer to share and my husband got the clam chowder. Both were delicious! I'm picky about my octopus and this one hits! Love the potatoes and sauce it comes with. Was perfect texture. My husband got the clam chowder and he loved it, even more than the one at Ketch, and I agree. It was very good and flavorful. Filling too! My mom and I were kinda full from the app but we still ordered the scallops and cioppino and a side of scallop potatoes to share. My husband got the trout. All were sooo good! The almonds were a great texture on the trout, as were his potatoes. The cioppino was very good, lots of clam, mussels, shrimp and various fish, so filling, we only ate half. The scallops and mushroom/spinach was delish! That dish was my mom's favorite. She loved the light sauce it came in. The scallops were cooked perfectly. We were so full but were celebrating a birthday so had to finish with a cake. The coffee cake was fire! Coffee ice cream was super good and I'm not a coffee ice cream person. Lots of taste and texture with the chocolate crust and white/chocolate chips and almonds in it. Bomb.com hehe! Will definitely come back! Food was spectacular and so was the service. :)

Indoor seating - can host large parties

Food was PHENOMENAL- every component was well prepared, seasoned, and plated! It was delicious - we really enjoyed the misoyaki butterfish as well as the sanddabs! Also, the portion sizes were great - especially for the kids meals!!! Service was very patient and friendly with us, even though we had 3 kids & a double stroller. The host, server, and manager made us feel welcomed & important! It was a great environment for our family - I was a bit concerned at first because it's a nicer restaurant BUT we were met with GREAT HOSPITALITY! There are RESTROOMS inside, along with a changing table available. There is a plethora of both outdoor seating and indoor seating; along with bar top seating.

Pretty good! Always a lively place, normally sit at the bar but also has great patio seating and live music. The foods all like a 7/10 nothing extra crazy good but still delicious!! Have tried basically all the apps at this point. Bartenders are very attentive and always offering free bread. Would recommend and will be back

Absolutely love going to Bluewater Grill. The service is always great, and the ambiance is hard to beat. We sat outside on the patio--it was heated, and they even provided blankets, which made a huge difference since it was a little chilly. The oysters were fantastic, and the seared ahi tuna over rice with green beans was delicious. The "dirt with worms" dessert was a big hit with the kids, and the crème brûlée is a must-try. I also really appreciate that they offer different wine sizes, including larger pours. Highly recommend!

Bluewater Grill is always a good stop, especially if you're craving clam chowder. Their chowder is creamy, flavorful, and loaded with clams. It's perfect to enjoy there or take home, and portions are generous. I frequent this location for the fish market and the happy hour. Also, I've ordered the Java Mud Pie for various occasions; make sure to order ahead for an entire pie. The pictures will convince you, trust me. It's hard to resist. They recently started selling sushi, so I need to try it during my next visit. They have a nice variety of seafood dishes, salads, and appetizers. Favorites include clam chowder, crab cakes, calamari, oysters, fresh fish entrées, and fish tacos, with classic desserts too. There's plenty of indoor seating plus a nice outdoor patio, which makes it a great spot to dine. The patio is heated and pet friendly too. The fresh sourdough bread is always warm and pairs perfectly with the chowder. Overall, it's a great choice for fresh seafood and such.

Happy Hour specials. Steamed clams, crab cakes and sushi. Free sourdough bread and soft butter as an opening.
Tony T.

I appreciate the Bluewater Grill Seafood. They have a decent happy hour, with a good selection of food specials and drink specials. The interior of the restroom was clean and inviting. The service staff was very attentive and checked regularly. The regular checks was a plus, because we kept ordering more drinks. We ordered the steam clams, a sushi roll and crab cakes. What stood out of the most was the steamed clams. The garlic broth was delicious, so save some sourdough bread for dipping. We also ordered oyster shooters. The "islander" containing tequila and the the "shucker's choice" containing vodka. The hard liquor was a bit over powering and was abrasive. A month prior, we visited the Coronado location and had the "michelada" oyster shooter and it was decent as the beer didn't over power the oyster. There's a lot of potential in creating a non-alcoholic oyster shooter, and hopefully smaller in size. I would recommend a mexican flavor approach with a tomato base or even a Japanese approach with ponzu. The "shooter" size was about a "single" glass, a bit much but gosh trying to down it was abrasive, just to get to the oyster. Overall, I'll stick to the oyster on the half shell as they have a special for that at Happy Hour. I appreciate the staff that served us and this establishment as a whole. Thank you for the experience during my work trip.

Shrimp, scallop, and mushroom pasta

Excellent fish restaurant. I have dined here a few times and I always enjoy what I order. The last time I was there, I had a shrimp and scallop pasta and it was amazing. The waitress we had was great. The ambiance is intimate and casual as well as could be romantic. They have a heated patio and large restaurant seating.

Came here on a random solo date and had a really great time. The service was excellent...we love a server whose recommendations land 100%. I wish I remembered his name because he truly elevated the experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and I had a great window seat that made it even better. The food was chef's Kiss! Clearly fresh! Thanks to my fellow yelpers for this find as they spoke truth regarding quality and consistency here. I'm already looking forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area.

Absolutely, we are dog friendly!

Do they have a happy hour?

Sunday to Thursday 3pm-6pm

Where is the parking?

They have their own lot on the side of the restaurant.

No reservations tor parties less than six. I'm concerned I'll show up tonight and have issues getting a table. Any thoughts on best time to get there so we have a relaxing and positive experience?

I've only been there for lunch, which is fantastic!! Don't know about the dinner crowd. Of course a quick phone call to them would be your best bet.

Happy hour hours?

Gluten free options available?

Yes, just ask your server👍🏼

What is the wine corkage fee?

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.
