Came here for a Happy Hour cocktail Decent deal and drinks, wasn't very crowded and did take a bit to get drinks ordered but overall good.

Cocktail bar that serves only drinks! Casual atmosphere where no one rushes you, and the service is not rushed. Come for a chill experience.

It was refreshing to visit a place that is just a cocktail bar. It has a cozy atmosphere and the bartenders were all very friendly. They have the classics and a few of their own specials. I went with the black Manhattan and it was amazing. My wife got the redrum and it was a fun refreshing drink. The bartender accidentally spilled a little of my drink too while serving it and was very apologetic. He even took 10% off the tab, which was very thoughtful.

This place has a great vibe for an after dinner cocktail with friends in a cozy booth in downtown Oceanside. Friendly, casual service. An enclosed patio room in the front where you can sit a table & bring your dog if they are well behaved.

This is a sweet spot. They have a great happy hour between 4-6. The bartenders are attentive and the place is a very low key, low light environment. They have booths as well as tables. Not really much of a food selection.

This was mine and hubby's last stop on our date night. This was our favorite. Great drinks and atmosphere. Bar wasn't crowded at all and can easily have a conversation at the bar. There's also a small patio area out front. Staff was attentive and friendly. Amazing bar to end our night.

My gf and I decided to come visit here since it had some good reviews. We got to catch up with a friend and a quaint little place. I was kind of bummed two of the drinks I wanted to try but I guess they taste so good that they sell out which is a good thing. All of the bartenders were all super nice and pretty efficient. Nice little date night spot or even hang out with some friends on the patio! I'd definitely come back forsure.

I have to give a huge shoutout to Alexia and Asa!! they completely made my night! From the moment I sat down, both of them were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely fun to talk to. Alexia makes you feel right at home behind the bar, super personable, quick with a smile, and she remembered my drink after just one order. Asa was just as awesome, fast, creative with cocktails, and clearly knows his craft. The drinks were perfectly balanced and came out fast even though the bar was busy. You can tell both Alexia and Asa love what they do! they create such a great vibe and make the whole experience feel effortless. If you're coming here, definitely sit at the bar and hope you get Alexia and Asa, they're the dream team!

It's been a hard week, and papa needed a drink, so I stopped in here before dinner. The atmosphere is nice, the music is okay and not too loud, the bar felt welcoming. The bartender was a true mixologist who cares about her craft, which I guess is what the place is known for. From the winter menu I had a "Fire side chat". It was smooth and lovely. I also ordered a rusty nail, an easy classic "old dude" drink, and she looked it up to make sure her recollection of the recipe was correct. It was just what I needed.

Frankie's bar is one of latest additions to the Downtown Oceanside drinking scene and they are definitely adding to the diversity needed. Frankie's is part of the recently developed Brick Hotel conglomerate. While they are not DIRECTLY associated with hotel itself, they work WITH the hotel to provide an additional experience for their guests. Frankie's is located in Downtown Oceanside, just west of The Brick Hotel. They have a petite, yet nice patio available for seating, as well as, inside seating that offers comfortable booths, high tables & bar seating. The decor is very distinct & unlike any other in the area. It almost lends itself to a quaint, upperclass tavern with low lighting, faux crystal chandeliers, brick walls and wall paintings of women in risqué attire. Their rounded booths are SUPER cozy & coveted. Bar seating is also comfortable, yet crammed. The high-tables are ok and just big enough to place your drinks down & maybe an appetizer platter in the center (more about food later). But the highchairs, while sturdy, are very hard. I can also appreciate that their patio seating allows for this who have dogs. The ONLY ding I can think of for their ambiance is that the music CAN be a tad bit loud at times and folks have difficulty hearing each other. On the bright side, their music playlist is so diverse and I love it. I've heard everything from R&B, NeoSoul, LoFi and even Hiphop. The songs are typically melodic and make for a great atmosphere. One can also see the volume as a legit excuse to be closer to date or person-of-interest Just be aware that I wouldn't consider this place romantic. They have a simple bathroom setup (for men) with 1 stall & 1 urinal. I've noticed that it can get neglected when understaffed. Because they don't serve food themselves, Frankie's allows for food to be ordered from the hotel restaurant next door (Q&A Oyster Bar). The Q&A is known for their oysters and their Louisiana-Cuisine; all of which just adds to the uniqueness of the customers experience. Just ask for a menu and order with the bartender. Service here can be a tad tricky. This is because they typically have 1-2 staff at any time. Usually though, the 1 bartender can actually manage the crowd well if it's not too busy. But if it gets slammed, then expect to be waiting a while for a drink or service. I typically sit by the bar, where I can get served faster, but then I'm running elbows with folks. Perhaps one of the only downsides to Frankie's is lack of parking. But this is not their fault in-particular, it's an issue with Downtown Oceanside. This and being aware that the drinks average around $16 or $10 during Happy Hour. Overall, I love the hours of operation for Frankie's and they're even opened until 12AM on Sundays. I recommend passing through here for that "after-dinner" drink if on a date or if it's late at night and you don't want to go to a dive bar.

Good drinks, cool looking bar, service was ok. Yvette and I came here for happy hour. I think we had 2 drinks. It's aesthetically pleasing in there, but the other bar next door was better. The vibe was better. I guess I wasn't really feeling it that day.

I don't know that I would call this a dive bar.... Definite look and cleanliness of a bougie bar, lol. Great music on a Friday night. Good drinks.

The duck was cooked amazingly - maybe a little on the salty side but not enough for me to mind. The lentils and fennel were a fun combo to pair with the duck. This was my second time here, and I love everything about this place. First of all, kudos to the bartender--I forgot her name, but she was incredibly generous and kind. She accidentally forgot my drink and kept apologizing, but I told her it was totally fine since we had a large party. To make up for it, she gave me two shots instead of one and even added a big discount. The ambiance of this place is unique and very artsy. If you're looking for a cool, one-of-a-kind spot to hang out, this is it. There's so much attention to detail throughout--even the restroom door is thoughtfully designed with a modern, creative touch. My friend ordered a variety of cocktails, and everyone enjoyed them. The food was great as well. I ordered the hummus plate, and it was the best I've ever had--so fresh and served in a generous portion. First off, they have a "wait to be seated" sign at their entrance, but it took a while to get anyone to seat us. When we were inside, we noticed there was another entrance and people were just walking in, so "waiting to be seated" was just an option? We ordered a beer and seltzer and it took easily 10-15 minutes to get our drinks. Drinks that were in cans by the way. Music was good, DJs were good, but the whole vibe of the place is kinda everywhere. This lighting in this place needs to be more dimmed. DJs are spinning right in the middle of the room, and there's a clothes rack just chilling against the wall. The baristas are way in the back, and you can't really tell who works there. It took equally as long to get the check as it did to get my drinks. We only had 1 round of drinks. I dunno, waiting for canned drinks just threw me off. I can't imagine how much longer it would have taken to get a mixed cocktail. I only saw one guy mixing drinks and a bunch of women just hanging around. I'm assuming workers that look like they don't work there.

I simply wanted to ask what he was serving and clarify the seating/pool arrangement, including any differences for hotel guests versus outside visitors. Instead of answering or letting me finish a single sentence, Eric repeatedly talked over me, curtly stating it was "sold out" with no explanation. When I tried to understand what exactly was sold out (the hotel, the pool, the rooftop bar, or seating), he continued interrupting and directing me to the hostess stand. He even scolded me that he had already repeated himself four times, while adding that I wasn't asking the question that mattered although he never let me finish a sentence. The entire interaction felt dismissive and almost hostile and condescending (insinuating I can't understand because of my ethnicity and that he was actively trying to make me leave rather than provide basic service or information) It was especially disappointing on a holiday when hospitality standards should be at their best. No amount of busyness excuses such rude, impatient, and condescending behavior toward a guest who was simply trying to ask a reasonable question. The bread is excellent. I thought I remembered them having lame hard breadsticks. No, they have really, really amazing bread. We ordered Calamari as well, and then ordered an extra side of the Calamari sauce to dip the bread into. Was only a dollar! Amazing sauce, like a vodka sauce sort of. We also got the Chicken Fantasia, and the Eggplant Florentine. SO GOOD. Both. I wanted to eat them both myself. My boytoy is Italian and super picky with Italian food. I recall it being a delicious and a wonderful dining experience. I have been looking forward to bringing my family and friends here all week. I am giving this restaurant 3 stars, because their food is still AMAZING and their staff is super nice and I believe deep down inside that they just had a REALLY OFF night. We had reservations for a party of 9 last night. The table was set up nicely and accommodated a few extra if needed, which I thought was cool. We started with some adult beverages: an Old Fashion, some Hotel Nacionals, a Fashionably Late, and a couple of beers. Everything started great. Dennis, our server was very cool and friendly and gave great suggestions. We ordered the mac and cheese sides and they were delicious with huge pieces of savory bacon in them. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which we never received and didn't even realize it until the very end when we received the bill because of all the other issues we had... but we'll get to that in a moment. But let's talk about what did go well... the delicious food we did get. We ordered the Pig burger which was sooo good and came with crispy fries. The fish for the fish and chips were 2 huge pieces and were delicious, came with yummy seasoned waffle fries and the tiniest tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I had to request 4 more for that amount of fish, but no big deal. Dennis brought out as much as we needed. Their ranch sauce is really good too. Don't judge just because it's a little peachy'ish and looks thousand island'ish. lt's still some very good ranch. My son said he really tasted the bitterness of beer in the fish batter but maybe it was just in that piece he had; I could not taste it in the piece of fish I ate. The short rib was really tender and delicious... the sauce was just a tad salty for my taste, but the mashed potatoes it sat on sort of balanced it out a little. The fried chicken thighs were really cooked well, juicy, crispy and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two Teres Major steaks. One rare with mashed potaoes, one medium rare with grits. The rare one came out medium and without any mushrooms, took FOREVEEERR to remake (the rest of the table was almost done with our meals...& not sure why it took so long since the restaurant wasn't that busy and it's a RARE steak). The one with grits came with mashed potatoes instead of grits. Dennis was super nice and apologetic and corrected both mistakes when we let him know. He then brought us a big bowl of grits. The manager (blonde gal) came over and apologized for the mistakes tonight, letting us know that usually does not happen, and let us know she'd be comping one of our steaks and would be bringing a dessert on them. We thought that was very nice of them. However, as nice a gesture. we never did receive that dessert. My husband handed Dennis his credit card before the bill arrived (before our friends could try to pay the bill) and not sure why but our bill never came, and we never saw Dennis again either after he boxed up our leftovers and took the card. We had to ask another server for our bill because we had been waiting for quite a while... and needed to head out as we were already late to meet friends at a lounge. The other server came back with my husband's credit card, the bill (that's when I finally noticed the brussel sprouts sides we never got but were charged), and let the server know. He immediately apologized and took it off the bill. So I'm not sure what happened last night at Flying Pig...missing and charged brussel sprouts, steak overcooked, missing mushrooms, mashed potatoes instead of grits, then a comped dessert promised but never delivered. WOW. I had to apologize to my friends. I was totally hyping up this place and it underdelivered. They automatically got their 20% gratuity for our party of 9 but anyone that knows me knows how much I absolutely love great service combined with exceptional food and that could have easily been a 30-35% tip had they been on their A game! We only come to Oceanside once a year. Maybe we will try again next year. Maybe not. This trip was about trying out a bunch of different restaurants and giving honest reviews on dishes/businesses we haven't tried before, or in a long time. Do better guys.

Better off ordering a kombucha which comes in a can. Water is bottled. Service is too attentive when you first arrive then seems to disappear once you have been served. Really a 3.5. NOTE: if you make a reservation they charge $5 per person cover plus you must spend $30 per person. Also they taxed the cover which is inappropriate.

Mom serves the food and pop runs the bar. It's a very cozy and intimate place to listen to jazz. On our visit there was a trio playing. Being a small place it's intimate and we got to meet the band members during the break. The trio did a set and after a short break it was a jam session. Several other musicians arrived, and it was a great session. Some points to note. It's a small venue and great for a trio but with the jam session it got quite crowded, though in a good way in my opinion. Lots of interaction between the audience and musicians. Also, with only mom and pop working, service can get a little slow. They are known for their cocktails, and they are very good. Also, a selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Wine also. They serve food but we didn't try any.
