The horses are so gentle. The trails are so beautiful & so many different ones to take. Maui & Paola are the best hosts.

Excellent nature hike!…read more The tour guide at the beginning of the trails was super helpful, knowledgeable and friendly! The trail was well kept and beautiful scenery! Did this hike with work friends for the first time, but will definitely be back! $6 entry well worth it!

I recently went to the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve in Murrieta with my dog, and overall…read moreit was a really nice hike experience. The parking area is huge, which was nice because it didn't feel crowded or stressful finding a spot. There are actually two separate hiking areas -- one for people only and another for people with dogs. We parked near the visitor center and walked across the road to the dog-friendly trails. We didn't finish the entire hike, but we ended up doing about 3.75 miles, and I'd say the full trail is definitely over 4 miles. The incline honestly wasn't bad at all -- just enough to feel like a workout without being miserable. The trails were rocky and sandy in some areas, so I definitely recommend wearing running shoes or hiking shoes. The scenery was beautiful. Lots of trees, open nature views, and peaceful spots for photos. We didn't see any wild animals during our visit, but the area still felt really natural and relaxing. I went on a Tuesday, so it wasn't busy at all, which made the hike even more enjoyable. Admission was also pretty affordable. Adult admission was $6, and bringing a dog was only an extra $2, which I thought was super reasonable. I did get a little turned around toward the end of the hike, so I wish the trail markings were a bit clearer in some spots, but overall it was a good experience and I'd probably come back to explore more. I'd personally rate it around a 6.5 to 7 out of 10.
