Had issues with check in. The key code to get into the unit was for another rental. It took us a couple hours to get resolved. Ants in the bathroom and kitchens. No follow-up from them on an item I inadvertently left. I called FOUR times. They said each time they would get back to me. They NEVER called with an update. So friendly. So deceptive. read more

We stayed in Kai Vista for 5 days. The place was sparkling clean. All the bedding was fresh as daisy. We had some issues with the microwave which they resolved very quickly. Overall probably our best vacation experience, we won't be staying anywhere else at San Diego in future other than Bluewater. read more

We stayed at an oceanfront property located on Mission Beach from 8/1 - 8/6 for our mini honeymoon. We had the upstairs unit which advertised a full glass wall that opened to the ocean. When we walked in we immediately saw that one of the window coverings was missing and another that wouldn't open because it was broke. In the living area, the area rug had stains as well as the furniture. The TV remotes were sticky to the touch and had hair stuck on them. In the bedroom, the nightstands were stained and the master bathroom sink was slow drinking due to hair and gunk which was visible when using the sink. This is only a small list of issues we experienced during our stay. The worst part of our stay was noticed when I was packing my suitcase which I had placed in the 2nd bedroom, I happened to look up and saw behind the TV that was mounted on the wall a child's pull-up diaper. To think that my clothes and wedding dress were in that room for 5 nights is absolutely disgusting. I would never stay at this particular property again. With a cost of over $6,000 to stay here we feel that we were ripped off because the property was nothing like it was advertised. Extremely disappointing...... read more

We've used Bluewater before so they were the first site I checked when I was planning another visit. The property was as good if not better than I expected. A great value too ! Super clean, organized and ready. Planning my trip was easy. Check in and check out were easy. It's nice to have good managers and owners. We didn't need to contact either one upon arrival or departures. We stayed near Old Town which was a great area with lots to do within walking distance and just a short uber ride for other activities downtown etc. Appreciated the large patio area and the hot tub and the long drive way and the outside barbeque and multiple televisions. Very disappointed and honestly pissed. I booked my stay through Airbnb, for a staycation for my boyfriend and his family for his 30th birthday. A week out from the rental some of his family members unfortunately got Covid and he also needed to quarantine. Instead of canceling, I reached out to the team to see if we could push the rental to a later date. I was told because it was within one month of our arrival date they were unable to change the reservations and that I could reach out to airbnb to see if they're able to help. I was left with no choice but to cancel my reservation and my refund $300 for a cleaning fee...the full rental charge all theirs.... This company doesn't care about anything but making money. As an owner of a floral business and going through Covid, and having many weddings and events cancelled and giving everyone of our costumers FULL refunds, even though we had to be closed and almost not making through this last year... businesses like this make me sick. read more

Everything we wanted for our stay! Home was clean, well maintained and very comfortable - they had coffee and filters - kitchen had all appliances and cookware - (no foil or baggies or cellophane wrap) just something you should think of if you want to wrap or store food. They did supply body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion for each bathroom, there were also blow dryers in each bath. TV's in family room and both bedrooms. Location is amazing short walk to beach, which we strolled down to multiple times a day! Close by coffee shop and 7-11 and stores to stock up on food. My family rented a home in Mission Beach through Bluewater Vacation Homes and everything went smoothly. There were a couple of issues at first (a few power outlets not working, codes to garage were wrong) but they were very responsive and got electricians out right away to fix. The house is beautiful and spacious (albeit outdated decor and kitchen and baths with awkward layouts). But was perfect for our family- 8 adults and 4 small children. We paid extra to heat the pool/spa which was worth it. And having the playground in the property for the small kids to play was a great hit. The views from the house are stunning and better than we had anticipated The Bluewater team was great. The only issue we had was the initial entry which was supposed to happen at 4. The door would not unlock and we could not reach anyone until they called us back at 4:20. We were finally able to enter at 4:15 but it was extremely frustrating at the time. The Bluewater team did come over to reset the Wifi when it was very slow. After that it worked much better. All in all it was a fantastic experience! read more

Worst Experience Ever they have all these high-tech locks that do everything but allow the door to open. Stuck on patio for an hour on check-in and then the very next day stuck on patio again. There customer service is so condescending and irresponsible to what the problem is and the resolve that they put forward as if we are bothering them with the fact that the door will not open. Will never use Bluewater Vacation Homes again. There Credit Card machine works though because they have no problem with the billing just having access to what you pay for is the issue. read more

I could not have been happier with my experience with Bluewater Vacation Homes. Their website was easy to navigate, they were upfront with the cost so there were no hidden fees and their service was top notch! We stayed at 5128 Oceanfront Blvd on Mission Beach and honestly it could not have been nicer. The layout was 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 2 car garage, Large kitchen and living room that were all open and facing the ocean. 3 of the bedrooms are upstairs with 2 of them having partial view balconies, The master bedroom is downstairs and it comes with a Jacuzzi tub and their own door to outside. The living room has a fireplace and large sectional sofa. Outside there was a gas fire pit with 2 outdoor sofas, a bbq pit and 2 lawn chairs on the opposite side to relax. The house is a duplex but I never saw or heard the other people staying there.( I know they were there though because the left their towels on the stairs) The design is odd where as we had the 1st and 2nd floors and I believe the other part of the duplex takes up part of the 2nd and all of the 3rd floor. The location is absolutely perfect! 1st you are on the beach. There is a small boardwalk(side walk with joggers, walkers, skaters and cyclists) between you and the sand. The property is also only a 1 mile stroll to Belmont Park in one direction and a 1 mile walk in the other direction for more restaurants, bars and shopping. I could not recommend this location enough as it was enjoyable for my party of 10. read more

I don't have enough good things to say about how these guys - at every level - so gracefully and graciously handled our beach house reservation in the wake of COVID-19. We were set to get married in La Jolla on April 4, 2020 (for which we rented a beautiful house on Windansea) - which obviously we were forced to reschedule and forced to try to rebook and coordinate 20 wedding vendors and to do our best not to forfeit tens of thousands of dollars in the process. The kind of stuff that makes your brain explode. Every time I called Bluewater, they answered. Emails always returned promptly. During a time when other vacation rental companies in the area were really taking advantage and doing people dirty - (like SEABREEZE, whom we had a separate beach house rented for other friends and who was a nightmare to work with and even under Gov. Newsome's shelter in place orders refused to budge on a refund) - Bluewater consistently treated us with respect, decency and empathy. They refunded our original reservation, and just the way they handled the entire debacle made us **only** want to entrust our business to them in the future. I heard someone say early on when this whole global health crisis ramped up that it would make very clear what companies (and people for that matter) were good and ethical, and which were not. Could not hold more true in Bluewater's case. They have to have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in rental profits during this but in having done the right thing by their guests, they will reap it tenfold in repeat business, future business and karma. THE SECOND WE RESCHEDULED OUR WEDDING DATE, WE REBOOKED A BIGGER BADDER BEACH HOUSE WITH BLUEWATER. Which we are now delighted and so happy to be able to stay at in the Fall. Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts for being a bright spot during the nightmare & chaos of cancelling and rebooking a wedding, and one less thing we had to stress about. read more

Of you have a house to rent, do not use this irresponsible management company They rent to large parties, creating loud noises, with lots of upset residence in the area. This July 4, the renters fired commercial fireworks over the houses in the area, forcing owners to call the police and fire dept. This went on for over an hour. I complained to them but they ignored me. This has happened several times for the 4th celebration. On other weekends they have parties with 10 to 30 screaming parties, loud music, which go on until 1 am sometimes. If you do not want problems from the police, city, or fire dept, do not use this company. read more

I am one of those yelpers who goes on when im really happy or really unhappy and this is an unhappy experience to give others a heads up so you don't waste you and your families time discussing plans. I was excited to find this vacation rental company online as I prefer to work with management companies than individual owners. I spent hours looking over their website for possible options/dates that might work for my family. I was going to book the place but sent them an email because I was confused that it showed it was pet friendly on the top with a paw print but the writing deep in the description said no pets. The company responded with an email that "Unfortunately, we only market this home. You will need to reach out to the homeowner for your questions through their listing here (with VRBO link)." When I went to the VRBO link, none of those dates are available and the price is significantly higher than listed on Bluewater Vacations website for those same supposedly available dates. The Bluewater Vacation email response was professional and appropriate I guess, I don't know what else they can say. I am just thoroughly disappointed that their website property information is essentially useless and not correct. How is someone searching for a vacation home supposed to know if it is accurate and up to date or just holding a marketing spot for some owner's VRBO? read more

Great rental company from check-in to check-out! Clean and spacious condo in a great location with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, washer/dryer, central air and 2 parking spots in a secured garage! Quick one block walk to the boardwalk and beach as well as 2 block walk to quieter Mission Bay! Updated appliances and everything you'll need to cook meals while still very close to several good restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. Listing was accurate. We got a deal because of construction going on... I would have been disappointed if we had paid full price for the unit, but it was nice and what we expected. Had one issue while there that was fixed very quickly. There was no way to get into the front door (had to go through the garage). Bluewater Vacation homes was a wonderful company to book our vacation through. Our party of eight thoroughly enjoyed staying at a house managed by Bluewater. The rental had very comfortable beds with high quality white linens. The home was very clean upon arrival. The bathrooms were sanitized. The hot tub was well-maintained. Included in the rental were nice towels for the hot tub. Washer and dryer newer and large size. Laundry pods included was a nice touch. Good WiFi. Most importantly my group was able to relax in the setting. There was plenty seating and the large couch was a big hit. The neighborhood was quiet. No planes overhead. One block from the beach. Ideal location for families that want easy access to the beach but do not want the noise and crowds of other areas of San Diego. Easy parking as well. read more

This is a wonderful space -- original and beautifully designed in a sweet neighborhood close to shops and restaurants. The hosts were courteous and quick to respond. The house was spotless. We had a place in San Diego (mission beach) booked months ago paid in full in June, plane tickets are bought and on Friday night 10 days before we are going to arrive we got a cancellation because they kept it up on another site because they wanted more money and canceled the contract that was made with us in good faith. We thought this was a good reputable company but found out it was not. Do not book with this company unless you want the chance to get cancelled right before your vacation. read more
