We rented a 1 bedroom condo for 4 nights starting Monday 2/10/2025. We were given keys and a parking slip along with directions to parking and our condo. When we got into the elevator, there was a sign that stated the water would be turned off Monday - Wednesday 9AM to 5 PM. We asked for some compensation but were told that they would refund ALL of our money and we leave now. we had just done the 6 hour drive from Phoenix, so we didn't take that option. when Thursday came and we thought we would have water all day, they turned the water off from about 10:00AM to 8 PM. We had NO water, couldn't flush the toilet, and when I complained that we would probably plug the toilet, the management told me where the public restrooms were. The condo was clean and well furnished and the beds were comfortable. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place. the building is over 50 years old and the plumbing is failing. NOT WORTH THE MONEY WE PAID. read more

Pleasantly Surprised. After reading some of the reviews, I was worried about what our unit would look like. The minute I walked in to the unit, I felt relaxed. The unit had a very relaxing vibe. I was presently surprised + all units are ocean front + parking is free and very close to unit + recent replacement of all kitchen appliances + clean + spacious with great furniture layout + pool and hot tub open and available + Helpful and friendly staff The only suggestion I would make is to replace the current queen sized beds be replaced with King sized beds when additional upgrades are made. read more

First of all when customer is disclosing how many guests will be there, customer expects sufficient enough bedding. We had a problem with that. When called to the lobby, got unpleasant answer. "Housekeeping is gone for a day. You will get it tomorrow". Well what are we supposed to do today?! After explaining the situation to the front desk employee we got a pillow and a blanket. We stayed in unit 710. Upon arrival I checked out the unit it wasn't clean at all. Receipts from previous guests were on the floor, hair on the floor. Next trouble was getting shampoo and soap. Apparently it is a high commodity at Capri by a Sea. We are family of 5 people who take 2-3 showers a day. After seeing how hard it is to get shampoo I just went to the store and got it. Dishes in the kitchen we're absolutely nasty. Frying pan was used and never washed. When I asked for dish soap that was unavailable as well. Overall unit is very outdated, both toilets were making weird sounds 24 hours a day. My suggestion is if you are going to charge top money at least provide clean and well stocked units. The only great thing about this stay was the location. But I am sure we could have pay less and find a cleaner place. Pretty sad! read more

We rented a place through homeaway. Condo is great! Wall to wall glass looking at the beach. You can hear the waves crashing from your living room and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The complex has parking and a nice pool and hot tub which is not connect to the building. There are a lot of rules which are all reasonable and as young family we appreciated them. Our unit was a two bedroom with one bath. Living room was quite large and bedrooms were on the small side. We did NOT have air conditioning and it was a little too hot for my taste. The condo was about 80 degrees from 4 to 8pm. At night it dropped to about 72 degrees. Too hot for me! read more

This is a great place to hang out whenever we visit San Diego Pacific Beach. Condo 706 is very comfortable, has widespread ocean front view from the living room. The furnishings are stylish and well-kept. The kitchen is well equipped. Besides the Cal-king the bedroom there is a full sleeper , and a queen sleeper in the living room. Listening to the ocean waves is relaxing While viewing the sunset. I enjoyed watching the surfers in front, and the occasional beach games in the evenings. We ride our bikes along the path, but avoid the lunch crowd for a leisurely ride. The pool is pleasant and relaxing in the afternoons. The sublime ocean view took our collective breath away when we opened the door to this well-maintained, spacious condominium. The mirrors on either side of the floor-to-ceiling windows trick the eye into seeing a continuous view of the seas. The building is definitely weathered by the sea, but the location was perfect and the property was secure. When we weren't walking the Pacific Beach boardwalk, sampling the local fare, we building castles and attempting to boogie board with the beach play supplies we discovered tucked into closet. After splashing and freezing in the Pacific, we enjoyed a relaxing soak in the facility's hot tub on an adjacent property. We even took a quick dip in the pool, that was strangely refreshing even though the temperature was only in the mid-50s. At night, we were soothed to sleep by the smell of fresh air and the sounds of crashing ocean waves. We cooked the majority of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen, which definitely saved a lot of money. We ended our stay with celebratory brownies that we baked, while we inhaled our last sunset in San Diego. We were already planning a return visit before we even left. Tip: The laundry detergent dispenser in the garage only takes quarters. We are most grateful to M. Tracy, front-desk security, for his assistance securing a detergent packet. For the price and location, this is as good as it gets in San Diego! My aunt and uncle have been staying here about two times a year for nearly 20 years and always had a great stay. We stayed here for 8 nights. The living rooms of the condos face the beach. Waking up and hearing the soft sounds of the waves crashing brought a peacefulness that cannot be beat. Each condo is decorated differently and you can view the available ones on the condos website. All of the kitchens are fully equipped with the standard kitchen appliances, utensils and cookware. This was an added plus for us because we were able to prepare breakfast, snacks and a few other meals at the condo. For meals that we did eat out there were plenty of inexpensive options nearby, some within a couple of blocks. The location is perfect. It is about ten minutes south of La Jolla, 10 minutes to downtown, 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes north of Coronado. We booked directly with the staff at the condo. The rates are a bit higher in the summer but still are cheaper than comparable hotels in the area. Each condo also comes with one parking space in the parking garage. This was a huge plus being that street parking was not always available. And in San Diego you cannot get around so easily without a car. There were a couple groceries in the area which included Trader Joe's and Ralph's. They offer one bedrooms, two bedrooms, and one condo has three bedrooms. Some condos are not rented out and are individually owned. Many of the bedrooms have two beds. It is true that they do not have a cleaning service daily but that is how it is anytime you rent a condo. The toiletries they offer are minimal but we brought all of our own. I do recommend getting a higher condo if the noise of beach goers would be bothersome to you. However, the bedrooms are in the back of the building so you cannot hear any noise from the beach when sleeping in the bedrooms. read more

I couldn't have picked a better place to stay while in San Diego. We paid $159 per night and booked on Expedia. We had a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo on the 5th floor. The building is very secure and you need a fob to enter the building and use the elevators. They have 24hr security and were available to answer questions and provide change for laundry. Our condo was updated and spacious. The entire rear wall was glass and it provided a great ocean view. The location was awesome. We were able to walk to all the bars / restaurants in PB. When I go back to PB I won't even look at other places to stay. This place is that good. read more

Maybe we just got a really bad room but everything is old and doesn't ever look like it's been clean. The first day we got here our sheets had stains and cigarette burn marks. The floors were filled with sand and dust. The sand part I understand because we are so close to the beach but did no one really come in and clean it? The building is pretty old and you can hear everyone through the walls and hear whenever someone flushes the toilet from the next apartment. I guess this is a time share because you don't get daily housekeeping and you must clean before you check out or they will charge you an extra fee. Just be warn before booking this place. I personally didn't know this until arrive and now here I am trying to throw out all the garbage and making sure everything is put back. If I could I would have asked for a full refund. The only pro side I would say to this place is that it is ocean view and you do get two bedroom and bath which is nice with the amount of people we had. read more

So many things to say....first, you are paying for the floor to ceiling views. Simply put. They are great...but please read air b n b and Yelp reviews on unit #704. As a local resident who had a flood, I wanted to move down the block and live here. My insurance was covering the $399 a night charge...ummm however I would never pay $399 a night for popcorn ceilings, florescent lighting, broken shower, broken remotes, broken screen door, no outlets in only bedroom mispainted rooms, no cleaning/cooking supplies (ice cube trays, Britta, plates, etc). Stayed here for fives weeks and the owners tried to charge me with fumigation fees and made up lies. Literally. My experience was similar to those on air b n b and yelp previous reviews). They offer no cleaning supplies... and I asked for a copy of the "extra cleaning" bill, which of course never got (claiming they had to fumigate, which of course never happened. They refused to provide any documentation of the made up charge). Stay here for a weekend. Max. Otherwise spend your $399 at a four star hotel. Don't fall privy to their overcharging to redo a 1970s condo, claiming "you didn't clean". (Defer to air b n b website as well. Totally fraudulent place to stay)! read more

I usually stay here at least once a year. It's a great place for families with children. The building is very secured and I have only 1 child who is autistic. I usually get the 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds. I have always been lucky to stay in some clean units but this time I am extremely disappointed. I booked a 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds over a month ago for 5 nights thru All season resorts. The confirmation never tells you what unit you booked, which you get what you get. When I checked in the office was already closed and the security gave me my key fobs. Well I got unit 607 and it's really bad. I was very disappointed there was nothing I could do. It smelled like cooked grease, it was very dirty, the table was greasy and gross. The kitchen was clean but the carpet in the bedroom was gross and has a throw rug that should be thrown out. The bed is super uncomfortable and it looks like the mattress does not fit the frame. Also the linens were gross, pillows are stained up, just gross. The unit is quite old and needs a bit of an update. I know it's a rental but when you book a vacation rental you really want to relax. Having an autistic child can be stressful enough and when you spend $2000 for 5 days you really expect to relax. I recommend the place but certainly NOT this unit #607. I'm sure some people may not be bothered but I am. read more

Me and my husband have a vacation time share here. The beach is lovely but the management is unprofessional. Me and my husband have the option of selling out time share it we can't use it. In order to do this we must contact management to set the process up. My husband has been calling for several months leaving multiple messages for the manager and we are always told he put out to lunch, he will call you back etc. Now our time is up to sell time share and we are out of the money we invented into it because management can't get their act together. I am very upset that I say good money to a management company that can't even give me a return call. Also, when we stayed there in September our room was filthy. Footprints in bathtub, hair all over toilet seat. Mold in shower. Also, room smelled really bad like mold. Your cleaning people need to take batter care of the rooms. If I could do 0 stars I would. We just bought a timeshare here and it was the best thing we ever did. We have others as well but the location is amazing. There is plenty to do for the whole family from our 6 month old granddaughter to my husband in his 60's. Everything is within walking distance. Access to the beach is across the boardwalk. A pool, sauna and spa just 300 feet away. Fantastic view from our room but also incredible 360 degree views of the city to the ocean. I understand through other reviews you can rent the units. You will not find a better location. Hands down. Also the security is the best. You can sleep with the sliding glass door open and hear the crashing waves all the way to the bedroom in the back. Such a great condo to vacation in! We got lucky, in that we ordered a 2 bedroom but received 3 bedrooms, and 4 beds in total! The furniture placement, decor, and design of the condo was all very nicely done. I was worried the bedding would be horrible to look at, but it was all very nice! Sheets felt fresh, carpet felt clean and plush, and the tile wasn't sandy or dirty looking. It had major appliances, smaller ones, silverware, pots and pans, all of which you can immediately tell have been well used. Some not even washed well after use. But nothing a good scrub won't fix. I brought my own pan since I wasn't sure whether they had them there or of their condition before arriving. There was plenty of room for the boys to play with their Nerf guns. Lots of looking for the darts later! The balcony is very very small (pictured). No sitting on the patio, but it's a great private look out spot. The bathrooms were spacious. Fresh towels, soaps and even a hairdryer ready-to-go in the master bathroom. There was a Guest Book to sign and lots of little menu's of nearby places to visit or get take-out from. Every condo varies though, because of different owner's styles, tastes, and accommodations. We were more than pleased with ours. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away in SD and definitely can't wait to go again! read more

Capri By The Sea is Heaven on Earth - the constant sound of the waves and the feel of the ocean breeze is outstanding. Throughout the years I have brought my children, their friends and grandchildren here. We have made memories here that will last a lifetime. All of the rooms are ocean front and you only walk down some steps to the sand and ocean. It is convenient to go to and from your room. There are many unique restaurants, pubs and a grocery store all within a few short blocks of this condo. Safety is a top priority here. There are security guards on duty 24/7 and your room key will only allow you to use the floor you are staying on. I feel so safe; it is GREAT! One of the biggest draws is Fabiloa who works in the office and helps me throughout the year ensuring I get the accommodations and dates that are important to me. She is always sweet, sincere and smiling. She sincerely cares about helping every single person that walks through that door or calls. She makes you feel like family. Few examples: * Apartments are very old & dirty (carpet had huge stains, windows were dirty, the floor had sand & dirt, bathroom clearly wasn't cleaned * half the things are broken (dishwasher & freezer for example) * maintenance service is slow, a broken fire alarm in the other room was going off for days. until they finally fixed and kept us up during the night * lady at the front disk was very rude & had a big attitude every time we would ask a question * they don't clean towels or sheets Overall would not recommend there are multiple other options nearby I'd advise folks to go to read more

The only downfall is they don't allow pets so my week vacation has to be it short but I guess sometime is better than no time ... The only thing that is good about the Capri by the Sea is the hostess Fabby. The rentals are unforgettable! The car space I was given had 4 inches on both sides the car when you pulled in between 2 poles. Guaranteed body damage if you had a drink. The bedroom temperature was a constant 78 degrees and of course There is no air conditioning. The entire rental stayed hot all night long. The upper lock on the door didn't work. The bedroom windows are above the headboard. You have to open them due to the stuffiness. The walkway is right there so you get to hear everything .....always . The area.... If your young and want to drink... The area is perfect. If you have kids, you can not find a brand restaurant for 5 miles. I tried . Hot , stuffy, and bring a huge fan l, coffee and towels! Location, location, location. The location is fabulous. Right on the boardwalk, overlooking the rolling waves, with the sound of the crashing surf. I live in San Diego, but during a week last summer at Capri by the Sea, I really FELT like I lived in San Diego. We rollerbladed, boogie boarded, had friends over to go to the beach/pool. Even though we worked during the week, we came back at the end of the day, and felt like we were on vacation. The unit we had on the 1st floor was nicely decorated, very comfortable w/ both a queen bed and bunk bed in the bedroom (very convenient for the kids) and sofa bed in the living room (even closer to the sound of the crashing waves, but not especially comfortable - sofa beds rarely are). Only real problem with the unit is that (at least if you're there on a timeshare exchange), it's more like renting a condo than a hotel. No daily or even weekly housekeeping service, except a change of towels and linens mid-week. Also, our microwave broke the 2nd day of our stay, and he basically told us it probably wouldn't be fixed until after we left (and it wasn't), so we were without a microwave all week, which was a bit of a pain, especially during hot August weather when we didn't want to have to use the oven. Also, no shampoo or conditioner in the unit; fortunately, I brought those. There are laundry facilities at the end of each floor. There's a roof-top deck with a killer view in every direction, which has a BBQ grill on it and one simple picnic table and a couple simple loungers, but it looks like they really aren't encouraging people to use it, bcse there are no furnishings, decorations, or anything to make it look comfortable and inviting. And, in the summer, it's super hot w/ the sun reflecting off the roof, and there's not a single umbrella or lick of shade. Very strange. But, still a pretty awesome view. There's free parking for 1 car, right in front (the best view of the place; strange place for a parking lot), and you can buy a week of parking for a 2nd car in a lot behind the building for $35/week (a bargain for beach parking - we did it). The pool and Jacuzzi aren't located on the beach side, but behind the building as well. It was a simple pool area, but the kids loved it, and we used it every day, especially to warm up after being in the ocean (there were showers to wash off the sand both near the garage and at the pool). Overall, it was a great stay, loved the location and being so close to the beach, boardwalk and the fun beach nightlife. This is our second time at Capri by the Sea, and I would definitely return. read more

This place is great. Condo could have used a little refresher, but location was fantastic. Accommodations were totally adequate. Staff was great. (Bring your own chef's knife.) Due to their security it was very hard to travel to different rooms, but you gotta respect those who live there all the time as opposed to some crazy company function there for the weekend. -;) Our room was very dated sadly - the TV in the living room was about 26" at best. I visited several others during my stay and they were all much more updated. -:( Luck of the draw, I guess. I had my laptop and they had decent enough internet so I made do. There seems to be a fine for everything, so watch out. Don't use the stairs, don't hang stuff / throw stuff off the balcony, don't walk through the main lobby in swim attire, etc. All the other stuff I understood, but the stairs was kind of a bummer for us - again, though, see top paragraph. Might stay here again - the view IS nice - but if it were my dime I'd probably pick a smaller, more local-feeling hotel that was a little more south of this so I could really be in the PB happenings. read more

We stayed here last August for our 5 year anniversary. It was so perfect. A little home away from home overlooking the beach was just what we were looking for. You needed your room key to get into the gate & to use the elevator, it made me feel very safe. There was a grocery store not far, so we grabbed snacks and drinks to stock the kitchen. There is so much to do just walking distance from the hotel actually. Plenty of food and shops! There was a girl set up with "Italian Ice".. OMG amazing! The pool and jacuzzi are a half a block away so that was very disappointing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This place is disgusting. Upon check in we were given the keys to a condo that looked like it was furnished from a dumpster, it was horrific. They then gave us the keys to 3 other equally awful condos. We had no choice but to choose the "best" of the worst. The condo we stayed in was awful, the shades on the patio were broken and would not go up, the mattresses in both bedrooms were like sleeping on concrete blocks with springs poking you, and they had no headboards or side boards, just a mattress and box spring on a metal frame, the closets were filthy, the oven was not cleaned from the previous renters, the flatware was dirty and the container holding the flatware was dirtier, the towels had stains on them, the wall mounted TVs had cords and wires hanging from them like a child put it together, and the furniture was a mismatched mess. This place was just awful and the building is run down. This stay was an enormous waste of money, at over $500 a night!! read more

Excellent place to vacation with family! My husband & I stayed in 205 with my parents & our 2 kids under 2. Walking distance to the beach & everything in PB. It was just a short drive to popular attractions. We went to downtown San Diego, the Zoo, Sea World, La Jolla & Mt. Soledad. The condo was clean & had everything we needed. The pool & hot tub are just a short walk down the block. Caution for those with young kids - this unit did not have screens in the doors that open to the Juliet balconies. The management company did provide a baby gate & that worked great for us. Will go back! read more
