Austen and Dani were so accommodating and welcoming, and took care of all of our needs quickly and completely. Denise, the owner, is so quick to respond to any email communication, and so very helpful. Ocean Beach, fondly known as "OB" offers so much, from Sunset Cliffs, shopping, easy walking, and such beauty. We love finding dinner at the Wednesday evening Farmers' Market, walking two blocks to the ocean from our cottage, and shopping downtown on Newport Avenue. It's great, not to mention unusual, to have a safe and secure parking spot off street, but BHC offers just that. And 20-30 minutes away by car: San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, Torrey Pines, Shelter Island, Little Italy, Gaslamp District, and more. We have already booked for next year!

Once COVID hit we communicated and discussed a refund OR rescheduling for another date since the beaches and local attractions were all closed. She has since ghosted us completely. And will not reply to VMs or emails to discuss other dates or a refund. If you plan on booking, I'd highly recommend sticking with VRBO or AirBnB so you have an intermediary.

Check out their web site to see three great beach house options in the San Diego area. All are about 1.5 blocks from a beach. The web site had all the info we were looking for including utube videos of the property. Prices are reasonable for a small house near the beach, they even accept dogs! The owners were great to deal with on-line and by phone. We chose the Pacific Beach rental for this trip because we needed 2 bdrms, the OB locations are 1 bdrms. We loved the Pacific Beach bungalow (with dedicated parking in the driveway). It was super clean, cozy, nicely updated and decorated with a large back yard. Kitchen was more than adequate and had everything we needed. Cable TV in living room and master bdrm, plus free wifi, the house had it all. The one car garage is used to store equipment for your use like bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, children's beach toys, even a washer/dryer unit. Short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants... If the two rentals homes in Ocean Beach are as great as this one you can't go wrong. We really enjoyed ourselves and hope to plan a return visit, perhaps to the OB Bahamas Bungalow with our dog since that location is near the dog beach. Can definitely recommend OBBungalows.

The bed is small and needs to be updated to a king size bed. There needs to be a light in the back yard so it can be used in the evenings. Because the house is so close to the beach, parking near the house is almost impossible. The house is directly in the flight path of the commercials flights from the San Diego International Airport and the noise starts at 6 am and goes on all day and night. The noise is so loud it will wake you up. The gardner showed up at 7:30 am on our first day there and proceeded to mow and weed eat the yard. We felt this was very rude and it was a good thing our 3 dogs were not in the back yard when they showed up. The house is very close to the beach which is very nice.

We arrived to a nice welcome gift. The apartment has everything - from the usual items in the kitchen to nice to have (usually not provided) bathroom supplies. So glad there was a phone charger cause I left mine at home! The owner, Kim even had several games in the "game cabinet" that were very handy when we had family visits. The bed was very comfortable - plenty of pillows and blankets. Umbrella, surf boards, binoculars, portable heater - name it, it's there! Or Kim will bring it. She even texted me if we needed an extra umbrella when rain was predicted that day. When we had questions, Kim's response was almost immediate. She sent us lots of ideas of places to visit and yummy restaurants in the area. There was nothing we needed that were not available in this apartment. The bird sanctuary nearby was a nice place to just sit at the bench and look at birds or a nice walk. Kim is a perfect host. Thank you Kim.
