I lived here for years, and it was quite the gem. Skylights, fireplaces, quiet neighbors, an on-site manager to keep things calm & quiet, and an enormous corporate management system that kept "forgetting" to raise my rent year after year until I was paying $750 a month while my neighbors were paying $1,000 upon move-in. Ooops! My honesty has it's limitations.
For repairs, they had the BEST mail-drop box system, and they kept up on it: you put a form in the manager's box, it went into the system, and about two weeks later, it got fixed. Freakin YAY. Being such a huge corparation, they didn't dick around. I loved that.
Also, if a neighbor was a rage-a-holic fighter w/noise isssues, or letting their pet poop all over the place off the leash, etc, you complained to the manager, they got a warning, and after one or two more warnings, they were asked to leave. BYE! There were simply too many other people that wanted to live here. So people got along pretty well. There were parties and everything. It was pretty fun.
What a sweet set-up. Right in the middle off driving distance to everything, (Hollywood/Santa Monica/Burbank) and while I lived here, The re-did the Hollywood walk, a Starbucks, grocery store, hairsalon, Rite Aid, Chinese Restaurant and mall complex opened in WALKING distance- no small awesomeness in the driving hell of L.A.
Soon, I was meeting actual neighbors walking back and forth. Totally sweet. You even got to meet people from other apt. complexes. really nice. There are lot of soap opera actors that live here and people from TV, so it;d be like "there's that guy! from that show! on the thing!" which was fun. That guy from Criminal Minds I saw him in Starbucks. He didn't flirt back with me, but I think he was just afraid of me, sexually. It must've been just too overwhelming for him, the mind control of sexy thoughts I was putting in his brain and stuff. Pretty much or he's gay. BLEAAAH! Jerk. Whatever!
I miss you. Bluffside. Now that I'm in my boxy suburban coffin, and I'd trade places for the freedom to zoom around Hollywood or Santa Monica in a second & come back to my little cozy cabin in a minute. So much fun. Who needs a lot of space when the world is your playground? So well run.
Really a no BS place.
The kitchen was a piece of crap, though. lol! read more
