I've been living here for over 10 months, and while this apartment complex looks amazing on the outside, unfortunately, not everything is as great as it seems. Since the property management switched to Greystar, the complex has gone downhill. Don't expect anything to be fixed in a timely manner--or at all. For instance, many fireplaces have been out of service for months, and some restrooms in the common areas are always locked. When you try to bring up issues, such as the Wi-Fi not working, the property manager, Alexandra Solis, dismisses your concerns with excuses like "Wi-Fi isn't guaranteed" or gaslights you by insisting it works. It seems like nothing is guaranteed to be repaired or addressed under this management team. While other aspects of the complex are good, unfortunately, the property management doesn't seem focused on the residents. read more

I love living at the Weddington! The amenities are 2nd to none in the area. The surrounding area has a lot of things to do (bars, restaurants, & entertainment options) within walking distance. However, what makes this place worth every penny is the gym... the gym in the east building is amazing with high ceilings, fairly new workout equipment, and a dance studio. Their NEW management might be worse than their previous management, and they got fired! This is 100% the worst leasing management office we have ever dealt with. They makeup rules and try to lock you into their worst units (next to the elevator unit), and then act like they are doing you a favor switching you to another unit. The bigger issue is their customer service and lack of it, and the way new applicants are treated. There is zero clarity on their process of "locking you in" to units when applying, then say stuff like, we have switched you twice and can no longer give you options. My wife had looked at the units and applied. When I told them that I would like to look at the units that my spouse had looked at, their office said we were locked in, and we did not have options. They truly need Mangement 101, and take some courses at a community college, or trade school at minimum. Do your research, the buildings and amenities are top tier, but their leasing office is bottom tier when it comes to customer service. We are going to look at other spots, with hopefully more helpful humans in the leasing office. PS their reviews are littered with complaints on this office and safety issues. read more

Edit re mgmt response: they solved the issue of the 2 residents, not all the issues. Also, not sure why some reviews got tagged not recommended and hidden by Yelp, as they are from real former residents I knew personally. I seldom write negative reviews, but in an effort to try to save others from misery, here goes. I moved into a 1 BR in Building 1 when the complex was new (spring 2021,) and a couple of months later, Greystar were replaced by Wood Partners. In decades of renting, I haven't had many management teams be as bad as the one at the Weddington. They were at times rude, condescending, nonresponsive, and arguably kinda shady. I get they work for the owner, not the tenants, and it can be a crappy job to deal with everything and everyone, but residents should be able to expect some basic level of service. For around 7 or so months two residents with mental health and drug issues terrorized the building (google abc7la and weddington to see video-- screaming all hours, threatening to kill people incl. my neighbor right in front of my door, flashing children, bringing in unsavory folks, etc. This might've been avoided by a basic Google search which turned up numerous stories of one of the residents' prior issues and arrests.) While I get evictions can take a while, it was handled so poorly. Mgmt told us they were working remotely, when really hiding in an apt in building 2. Their solution was to lock ourselves in our apartments (for the prices we paid, are you kidding me?) Mgmt would tell us to go to the police, police told us to go to management, and it went in a circle, whether it be b/c of those residents, or break-ins (apt or car,) or other safety issues. Eventually, police began advising folks to just move out. There used to be patrol service 24/7, but several mos ago, one of the cleaning workers had a run in w/ a possible criminal in the garage, and when I called the # to get them some assistance, I was told by the security co that they no longer had a daytime contract w/ the Weddington. Residents weren't informed of this change. Considering the safety issues both in the building and neighborhood, that's very concerning. Theft in the mailroom, even with parcel lockers, was a real issue. Nonresidents coming in (and using facilities) an issue. People let their dogs relieve themselves all over the building and don't clean up. Residents leave their trash in hallways and all over the trash rooms, and there are roaches, even as high as the 5th floor. In general, a bunch of residents seem to have entitlement issues. You also pay for water, water heating, sewer, sewer base, valet trash, city trash, and I am sure I am forgetting a charge or two - they can really add up and I wouldn't be surprised if mgmt tries to unload more costs onto residents any chance they get. Common area furniture was stained/fading/falling apart (see photos I took in Oct; they'd been that way for over a year.) Most pool chaises missing wheels. The hammock broke, never replaced. The back courtyard TV no one could get to work from day one. When you do a tour, things may look pretty, but look closer - lipstick on a pig. Smoking rule not well enforced. Rules in general don't seem enforced evenly on residents. While side walls and windows were good in terms of soundproofing, they skimped on floors/ ceilings, and noise from above was worse than usual for apts. There were fire alarms at all hours often, but I heard they have resolved that somewhat. When I finally moved out, by law I was supposed to receive my deposit w/in 21 days, but they didn't even cut the check until a week later when I called, and didn't mail it out until a few days after that. (they tried blaming the holiday, but it was due in my hands before the holiday.) I will say the pool was usually nice, gyms and dance studio are good, and it was nice to have several quiet courtyards & hideaways to chill outdoors. And the maintenance team deserves 5 stars: super nice guys, doing the best they can w/ the situation they are working with, and handle repairs quickly. But overall, the place is definitely not worth the money or headaches. Also, lease pricing and renewals are all over the place. They claim they use a computer algorithm but it often didn't make sense/ was inconsistent (and beware if you want to change to month-to-month, the increase was astronomical.) Dont fall for the pretty picture they paint on tours-- find someplace where management respects the residents and residents respect the building. read more

For SAFETY reasons I would NOT recommend the Weddington. Not even 1 month in I've had a total of 4 homeless visitors at MY door and 2 stolen packages. I see a lot of home reviews and they're personal "the fire alarms goes off a lot" "the leasing people are rude" this review is NOT that. This is strictly a lack of SAFETY and comfortability review. (I'll do a personal one at another time) I was told by the leasing office to call the police if someone who does NOT live INSIDE the building is INSIDE the building at my door. I know they can cannot control who comes in and out HOWEVER I do NOT think preventive measures are taking place; such as the garage gate have been up for a while now. If it's obviously a homeless epidemic in this area things like that should not be broken for days/weeks (remember I've only been here for less than 30 days and this is ALREADY an issue) you should need a fob to enter the building from the garage since the gates seem to be left up often and the gates move up slower so regardless implementing the security from the garage to building doors should have been in place. I'm assuming since the homeless has easy access and the packages just sit out in the open that's the reason for packages to come up missing; who knows. A homeless man was charging something near my unit at 3am (INSIDE) so again due to the lack of SECURITY i do not recommend this place. Before I moved in I wanted this second floor unit. Long story short by the time my application went through the price had went up. TWO days after moving in I seen the price of that 2nd floor that I ORIGINALLY wanted had went back down to the original price I initially wanted and was still available. I inquired about it and was told "once you sign a lease you have to wait 6 months to move" I just think that's a ridiculous rule lol especially if a tenant is wanting to pay MORE at first this was just personal but now I do feel maybe it would have been much safer there. Who knows. Please look at the photos. I'll be sure to do a follow up review soon. I did ask the leasing if there was an issue with homeless and this place before. Either they truly didn't know or they were not aware which is NOT an excuse BUT it appears as if the homeless people have BEEN coming and my ring camera is scaring them away. So unless you want to constantly call the police, chase your packages down, and be scared that someone is possibly outside your door at 3am I do NOT recommend. REMEMBER all this has happened in LESS than 1 month. ON A POSITIVE NOTE: The layouts are nice and when I I have express my concerns the leasing responded back with the "call the police" or "call patrol" or "contact the company you bought the item from" solutions a little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nothing. They're not ignoring the issues I just don't think they can do anything about it.. it's obviously nothing the leasing can do so beware before coming here. read more

So I've been living here for a year now and about to renew my lease. I'd prefer to gate keep so my rent doesn't go up but I have to give flowers to the management and maintenance team. I love the events they put on, they answer the phone when I call, and they are responsive to my concerns. As an example, packages were being stolen so they started securing them in the leasing office if left in the mail area. This has been less of an issue in recent months for me due to their diligence. Living in any apartment community isn't perfect, but thankful for the care and effort the team makes! read more

Unsafe place to live. We have had two unruly tenants for months running around, attempting to break into apartments, smashing car windows, setting off the fire alarm at 4am. We have received 2 generic emails from management saying they are working on it. It's gotten so dangerous they won't even let the leasing office workers work from the building. When dealing with upstairs neighbors constantly throwing trash and liquids into my patio is the least of the problems I deal with at this apartment. The management team is aggressively working to NOT do anything. I have complained many times about the SAME issue and all I have gotten was that because the time between my last 2 complaints were 2 months apart, it does not equate to them putting in any further actions even though I have been consistently complaining for the 12 months I have been living here. The last time I called in, management told me and I quote "I understand it's frustrating, I wouldn't want to live here either." That's all you need to know why I gave this luxury apartment a 1 star. The worst part of all of this is that my complaints are the LEAST of the issues that my neighbors have to deal with, death threats, attempted kidnapping, breaking into apartments and stolen property. I NEVER leave bad reviews but just so others won't do the same mistake by moving in here. On a good side - the property and the amenities look great although you do actually pay more than enough for it. The biggest problem that you will have is people. Here are just some problems that we have experienced in the past couple of months: people washing their dogs in the pool, loud parties almost every night in the common areas, a dance studio with unimaginably loud speakers that resonate through the whole building that is open THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT(whose owner also lives here btw and continues to ignore the requests to stop playing music so loud at night), constant smell of cigarettes and weed, dog poop everywhere, homeless people coming in to the garage and using it as a toilet. For all of this issues we and some other tenants have filed multiple complaints and called the police, still the management hasn't done a single thing. In fact it hasn't prevent them to raise the rent this year. To sum up - no matter how good it looks on the outside, it is NOT worth the money you pay for it. UPDATE: last two picks are made just now (09/03/2021) it is the second group of people that came in to the pool area although it's supposed to be closed after 10pm. You can see them smoking. The funniest thing is that the price for an apartment that faces the pool is higher but you have to deal with all that noise and smell every single night. read more

This is the most beautiful place I have lived and I've lived in Paris. I also love walking the area, I think it's beautiful and I know from walking grounds of adjacent apartments that this one is maintained the best. They have fresh pillows OUTSIDE on all benches, I have NEVER seen this and I toured 20 apartments before renting here. The rooms are scented, there are so many cabanas and fire pits that you can never leave the grounds and just lounge. It's truly a resort experience and they think of every amenity. The gym is full of equipment that really is state of the art and the washer and dryer is green and cleans my furry Ugg blankets, I actually started taking pictures of their appliances/equipment for when I move to a house. The amenities surpass the Bellagio and remember that you are actually blessed to have a roof over your head and a really nice one at that. read more

We love the design and that it's a new building, but the management doesn't have any concept of service. Most of the positive reviews here appear fake... the people writing have bios saying they don't even live in LA let alone at The Weddington. Since we've moved in, the place has really deteriorated and nothing is maintained... the pools aren't maintained, furniture is worn out, ripped, and torn. Kids in diapers in the hot tub (so gross), the walls and elevators are all banged up, the security and cleaning people never check the stair wells where the homeless shit, it's really gross. The place is cool, the people ruin it. Everyone I know here says they're not renewing. Really needs new management, could be such a great place to live. Edit: there's no one at the Weddington named "Kira B" at the Weddongton. In any case, the problem isn't the people who clean or maintain the problem is the lack of competent management and supervision. We've lived here for several months now and had very few maintenance requests or issues with our unit. When we do have maintenance requests, the staff is incredibly quick to respond and helpful! Manny came to our unit to repair a leak in our ceiling but went above and beyond asking if there were any other issues. I mentioned our shower drain was slow and that our water filter needed to be replaced. Without hesitation, Manny grabbed his gloves and tools and took care of our issues. We hadn't even posted a work order for repairs! If you're looking for a high quality apartment complex that has a team focused on making sure their residents have a positive experience, look no further! read more

The community events are fun and the amenities are great and always well-maintained. I've lived in different buildings the past 10 years This is by far the worst experience I've ever had in a building. The building is always dirty because of the trash pick up they do outside of the doors . Leasing office is always rude for any request. The key fob fail, at least once a week and you get stuck outside of the apartment . The pool is always full of people they don't live in the building making parties. To preface this review, I am a property manager with over 12 years of experience in luxury buildings like this. My review is about the application process / experience all before even getting a chance to move in. I am deeply disappointed that this building lacks the ability to get their job done properly. We came in and were clear on our expectations for moving. We spoke to Raul about a month ago and again, knowing how these offices can be - I OVER communicated my needs and made sure there was no pressure to take us on a tour. Raul was helpful and clarified all of my questions about the reviews with confidence and didn't shy away at all. After taking a tour, I returned about a week and half later to come across a snarky, and clearly in over her head leasing agent. I stated I just needed to see the current availability for the two story spaces and I would be making a decision. There was a 15 minute window until her next appointment and she stated she could not show me and I would have to come back 4 hours later. Not happy, but I obliged being understanding. Upon my return, I come to find she double booked me and a resident for the same time slot. She opened the door to the empty apartment and said "come back when you're done". I chose the unit and applied. Despite the experience, I LOVED the unit and couldn't be happier. Now, I lived in another state - before applying I was extremely clear on the fact that I had an offer letter for my new job and they assured me that would suffice. Both Raul and his leasing agent stated this to me. My new position making well over the required limit, somehow had an issue with the third party system ( the same one I had to use and got approved at three other complexes at ) and they now needed bank statements... which no other property asked me for. However, I obliged. They then started to qualify me off of those. The back and forth began to try and get me qualified off of current income and not the offer letter - so much so that I had to book a flight to come to the building JUST to get clarity. The same snarky leasing agent was there at the building and told me "Raul is with a mentee and I am booked so we cannot discuss your application." Mind you, they now have my money, ran my credit and I am 2 days PAST my scheduled move in date. She told me she will leave a message for Raul and someone will call me by end of day. I called and got no one, left a message and got a call back from the same agent stating "oh yeah, we will call you back". The end of day comes and I HAD to make a decision. I chose to cancel the application with no clarity or answers and had to choose a less desirable unit, in the same area. This situation caused so much headache and disappointment and overall the treatment feels unfair and definitely intentional. They use these systems to take the human out of it and after speaking to the third party company, they stated it was the on site team that didn't do their due diligence, being that I used them for the other apartments I applied to and have now moved into. Something is off - I don't know what they need to do but they are missing out on qualified tenants and clearly losing a lot of probably great residents by not getting it together. . read more

UPDATE: I'll bump this place up a star because it has improved once we talk to corporate about parking. Would love to get them to fix the tv in the large yen area, it has not worked the entire time we have lived here which is Nov of 2020 and when you make a maintenance ticket for it there is zero communication about the issue. Also, I think the amenities "curfew" should be extended to 12 on Fri & Sat, and not 10pm. They will ask you to leave the fire pits right at 10...every single time. Overall things have improved, hopefully they continue to progress forward. read more

I recently had the misfortune of residing at The Weddington apartment building, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the very beginning, the leasing office proved to be a prime example of unprofessionalism, racism, and a complete lack of regard for their tenants' well-being. Especially Alix and Alijah/Elijah -- not sure how to spell her name. But many residents don't like her and the company won't do anything about it. First and foremost, the leasing office staff's attitude was deplorable. They were consistently rude, dismissive, and utterly unhelpful. Whenever I approached them with questions or concerns, they made me feel like an inconvenience, as if my presence was an annoyance to their day. Their lack of professionalism was evident in their condescending tone and their complete disregard for basic customer service principles. But what shocked me even more was the blatant racism that I encountered during my interactions with the leasing office. It became painfully obvious that they had no respect for tenants of different ethnicities. They would often treat individuals from minority backgrounds differently, making them wait longer, providing less assistance, choosing not to help them at all and even making derogatory comments in one instance. It is absolutely disgraceful that in this day and age, such discrimination still thrives within the walls of a supposedly reputable apartment building. The proof I gave LAHD prompted them to investigate discrimination! It's that serious! The leasing manager Alix, allows her team to run rampant with no consequences. It's dangerous especially when so many people feel the need to get out of character with them. Proving they are the problem. I have multiple news media teams who will be releasing stories in the future until they fix this staff. Moreover, when I found myself in a distressing situation, The Weddington leasing office showed their true colors by refusing to offer any assistance. I was once cornered by a women who I'm sure is a disturbed and unstable woman who made me fear for my safety. Frantically, I rushed to the leasing office seeking help and protection, only to be met with indifference by Alijah/Laura. They callously shrugged off my concerns, claiming it was not their responsibility to deal with such matters. This negligence and lack of empathy were deeply unsettling, leaving me to fend for myself in a frightening situation that could have been avoided with their intervention. The Weddington apartment building and its leasing office have demonstrated a complete disregard for their tenants' well-being and have failed to create a safe and inclusive living environment. It is disheartening to see a place that should be a sanctuary for residents turn into a breeding ground for racism and unprofessionalism. It's even scarier that even their corporate team brushes it under the rug! DO NOT COME HERE! I would strongly advise anyone of color considering renting an apartment at The Weddington to think twice. The disrespectful and discriminatory behavior of the leasing office, coupled with their lack of support in critical situations, make this place an absolute nightmare to live in. It's woefully ironic that while writing this review, I'm watching the televised ABC news report of residents complaining about feeling threatened in their own home due to the lack of care and urgency by management here at the Weddington Apartment complex in North Hollywood. I am new to LA and what I can say is this has been one of the worst experiences I've had in an apartment. There are two tenants who have been wreaking havoc around the building for months.. yes MONTHS and despite constant complaints to the front office and the building management, absolutely nothing has yet to be done. I have had chats with several residents who feel seriously threatened and scared to even use the amenities that we all pay for, myself included with the constant threat of being harassed or stalked. Even the police are called to the building almost daily to address these ongoing issues. New to LA and looking to live in North Hollywood? I suggest you opt for a spot where the safety and well-being of residents is put first in a timely and urgent manner. I truly thought this was the Weddington, I was dead wrong. I do like living here. The staff, facility and amenities are excellent. However, if you are planning to occupy a unit that has a balcony/window on Blakeslee street, I strongly suggest you come by between 9-10pm at night to hear the loud noise from the Eighty Eight Studio on the corner of Weddington and Blakeslee. This loud music is consistent throughout the week. We have called the police multiple times, and they have responded, and had them lower their volume. However, it is deja vu the very next night. We are relinquishing our Unit 5061, and moving to a quieter side of the building. read more

It's been nearly three months, and I'm still awaiting a refund for my $250 deposit. Multiple messages were left for Raul, the apartment manager. Dodged and ignored. Tried the Better Business Bureau. Zero help. They just mediated all "the check is in the mail" messages I received through them. Another manager emailed and said a check went out 6/28 and "did you get it?" No. Because that didn't happen. More stall tactics. It may be a small amount to them, but I want my money back. Maybe this is how they cheat people until we just decide to call it a loss. Set up an appointment and showed up on time but the leasing agent was out to lunch. Napoleon was able to help me out at the last minute because a potential tenant cancelled on him but the experience felt very chaotic and rushed. Also, apparently they use a custom scent in their common areas (which smelled great), but I had a minor allergic reaction to it. read more
