Whether it's a trim or a full cut, the stylist always cuts exactly what I ask for--never more, never less, which is so rare to find. They truly have a great touch with hair. Service: I needed a scrub so I decided to skip my regular spot in Manhattan and stay a little closer to home. Dolce Derma offered a "full body detox scrub," or so the website says; I booked an 11 AM appointment on a Saturday. It was relatively easy to find, storefront with street parking. Upon arrival there was nobody to greet me at the front desk - I called out "hello" about 3 times before a sweet young lady popped her head out from one of the back rooms and told me she would be right with me...my 1st flag. This business now represents as being short staff and disorganized. The young lady came out 5-7 mins later and escorted me to a room, which was a room for facials; inside the room she told me to take off my top and put on the wrap towel and leave on my bottoms...???...2nd flag raised (it's clear she doesn't know what service I'm here for) She returns to the room with a small tin bowl of water and I ask her if she knows what service I'm receiving today, I quickly tell her my service (full body scrub)...she was apologetic. She starts looking for the things she would need - sadly, red flag #1 is presenting itself more now. She doesn't have all the equipment for the service...SMH. She returns to the room with a water basin and wash towel. At this point this is not the full body detox scrub I envisioned or am use to. I normally get Korean Body Scrubs and that is what you would call full body scrub. Here at Dolce Derma, it's applying body lotion with beads and it's applied to your arms, dècolletage, back and legs on the facial bed while wearing the wrap towel. It was the worst experience, she kept having to run back and forth to the sink to replace water. If you don't know what a full body scrub is or have the facilities to accommodate please don't offer it; I received confirmation calls for this service as well, it would be nice to have all the necessary items to complete the service. It was a complete waste of $130. I ended up booking an appointment at my regular spot, what I should have done from the start.

Parking is somewhat difficult but that's to be expected in this area. However, the brow tinting was low quality. The staff member who did it put the tint all over my skin, and didn't do the full length of one of my brows. This meant my brow looked unnaturally thick but also short, since the front of my brow was not tinted. Then, when the staff member was removing the tint from my brows, she got some on my brow bone. I asked her to clean it up, but she said it would fade on its own. It did not. It peeled my skin and took off a few layers. If the tinting was done JUST over my eyebrow hair, it probably would have looked great. It faded within 4-5 days so I didn't have to deal with it for long, but I was surprised that a $30 tinting service (which included the waxing) faded so quickly. I did tell them that the service was not up to standard/the pictures on their pages. They apologized but said there was nothing they could do. Again, the waxing and staff are great! but the tinting is definitely a no from me.

The eyebrow tinting though... personally I won't get again. I have light brown eyebrows, and they were tinted black. There was some tiny left on my skin that looked patchy, so I scrubbed them when I got home. It should fade but I just feel like they shouldn't have been tinted so dark. I got these done ahead of time for a vacation, and I'm really glad I didn't get them closer to leaving. If you have lighter hair, I wouldn't recommend getting your brows tinted here.
