I had to recently have some work done to my father-in-law's car and it took a little bit of time to get the first appointment in (just under 2 weeks) so that wasn't an issue. We had questions about replacing the coils, should we replace all 8, should we test and only replace the bad ones, could I buy the parts somewhere else if I found them cheaper. They answered every question and talked through the options with me. In the end, we did all the spark plugs and they tested the coils and replaced the single bad one they found. We made another appointment and brought the car back to have the passenger window repaired a few weeks later. We'll definitely continue to bring work here. Guess it was too much work for him and was hoping for a quickie. This person could've asked me questions over the phone instead of making an appointment only to send me away without taking the time to explain options and reschedule another appointment. There was no professionalism or nicety. Annoyed and feeling rotten (hey, I'm only human--a sensitive one), I decided to search for another Smog Check location on Yelp (while still on the lot of the previous auto shop). Interestingly, Carr's was close by (less than a mile away) and had more highly rated reviews, so I decided to take a chance and ask if they had any openings that day. I was relieved to hear the voice of a nice sounding man who said I could come in (it was already around 12:30 pm). When I arrived, there were many employees busy at work. AND they had kind (not angry) looking faces! When Jason, the owner, came out to greet me he looked like an ANGEL compared to the last guy! Jason was very polite and easy to talk to. He took his time to explain what needed to be done, giving me options and time to make phone calls and make a final decision. Although Carr's was already working on several cars, they managed to fit me into their busy schedule and get my car approved for the Safety & Emissions Certificate. We got the sticker the following day. No damage to the defogging strips on our back window after the tints were removed, and they even cleaned our car. Pricing is fair and reasonable. Coordinating the insurance for these accidents was both a pain and time intensive, but the guys at Ace remained patient throughout, including when the car was deemed "totaled" by one of the insurance companies and the work entailed in pulling back that claim. Kevin and Dustin were helpful and communicative throughout all the discussions and phone tagging between them the insurance companies, and me. In the end, once the work could start, they hopped right on it and got it done quickly and beautifully. They attend to every detail, and now the car looks better than even before both accidents.
