No need to buy a newer opener. It worked! Then my spring broke. Steve came right out on a Sunday to put a clamp on the broken spring to allow it to lift the door. He came back two days later with a set of new springs and installed them. Other companies told me it would cost $600 to $1100 to replace the springs. Really? Steve's bill was much lower. The 2 other quote experience were not good - one started dropping price (but only if u act now!) as soon as they heard I was getting other estimates and the worker was not knowledgeable about spring specs, cycle ratings. The other has kept forgetting to send me their L&I contractor ID so I can look them up There seem to be a lot of fly-by-night subcontractors out there who are farmed out via Big Garage companies. In comparison - Dan's was ontime for the estimate, gave good advice on need to get an upgraded spring (not worth it) and priced well comparatively. Installer was very knowledgeable and didn't try to upsell at all.
