I've been "trying" to quit this bank since early November 3 months Remember the 1980's the "life time memberships" for 24 Hour Nautilus that you couldn't stop the "bank drafts" no matter how many letters phone calls and in-person times you've quit? Same thing with this bank. Criminal. The bank manager Laurie has "helped" me quit numerous times while I've sat with her. I still get letters of "over draft fee of $75." An out-of-date bank that has nice people (in many cases) but not great customer service or services. Who ever designed the user interface for the ATM machine is incompetent and who ever signed off on the design is inept. Unbelievably, after years, they finally installed new ATM machines yet have the same inept user interface design! Hey, how about the fact that business accounts can't take money out by going to a teller! If a business acct user wants to withdraw cash, you have to use the ATM, but there's only one so you're out of luck when it is not working. Finally dumped this bank out of frustration. Ridiculous overdraft fees like Wells, and they never respond to complaints. Terrible. read more

Miguel Ortiz wasted an hour and a half of mine and my fiancé's time today at his branch in Morgan Hill California. My fiancé and I do regular wire transfers to China and had recently moved to a new home we purchased a mile up the road from Bank of the West. Ignorantly thanking, my fiancé and I thought bank of the west would be a Convenient location for us to perform business transactions. They also have a handful of tellers with rarely one person in line (I can now see why). Today both my fiancé and I we're at the branch after depositing $2700 in cash into her account and we're dealing with the manager Miguel Ortiz to do a wire transfer. Miguel Ortiz approve the wire transfer provided us with the form to fill out with all the information needed for his end. After my fiancé filled out all of the information I double checked it and we passed it on to Miguel Ortiz. Miguel Ortiz then asked my fiancé for her phone number which she provided her main form of contact and then remembering-after the fact that she had used her secondary line for contact to set up the account. She then provided him with the correct phone number for the account. Miguel Ortiz then took about 10 minutes while inputting things into his computer, Miguel Ortiz then denied the transfer saying that my fiancé had provided conflicting information about her phone number. She then said you can call my phone to verify my phone number? Miguel Ortiz continued to deny the wire transfer. Let me reiterate she was utilizing cash to preform this wire transfer. Miguel Ortiz wasted an lhour and a half of mine and my fiancés time. The most unprofessional banking service I have EVER RECEIVED. I do not recommend to utilize Bank of the West for ANY BANKING SERVICES. read more

I love this bank. I've been with them for about 10 years and I have never had an issue. They are all so nice. Even the people who sit behind the desks that usually ignore you, wave and smile when you walk in. The reason I chose to write a great review for them after ten plus years of service? My 2 year old daughter was very excited by their decorations (namely the oragami they have on their stations). One of the managers heard her excitement and gave her one. The extra service, as small and insignificant as it was, made the trip to the bank with a 2 year old a little easier and definitely more enjoyable. read more

I will never bank anywhere else. They were the most helpful when dealing with my fathers passing. I ran from Chase bank after they gave me ALL bad information when closing/ changing accounts. This is the worse bank ever! They will rip you off any chance they get- and I am not kiddind they charged me an overdraft fee and when I looked at my account the only reason I was over drawn was because I had an over draft fee! yes the over draft fee is 35$ and I was over drawn 30!!! how does this happen? shouldnt I be over drawn OVER $35 if i was really overdrawn??? not to mention my two deposits that went through- so I sent them an email saying this is not approprate and they sent me back one saying as far as they are concerend they did nothing wrong- so Unless you want your money going into their pockets do NOT open an account there - and the customer service manager treats you like your an idiott too- Very rude bank. Beware of this bank! They have changed their fees so that if you are overdrawn by over 15 dollars they will charge you five dollars a day. Yes, I said five dollars a day until it is resolved. read more

I gave it 1 star because it won't let me give them 0 stars. I've had nothing but terrible service since I opened my account with this bank. They put unnecessary holds on deposits. Too many limit are put on a business account. Their ATM is from the stone age, when it works at all. Their online banking for business accounts is a joke. The last straw was my debit card being declined when I tried to use it to buy dinner for my family when I have a very substantial balance. Upon calling to find out why it was declined their customer service person refused to tell me anything because I couldn't remember my company tax ID number or the amount of my deposit I made last week. I'm done with their terrible service and ridiculous delays to post my money to my account. I'm going back to Bank of America. read more
