2025 Civic Touring Hatchback. Sold by Mo Kassabi.
    Zin G.

We purchased a 2025 Civic Touring this past weekend. Our salesman was Mo Kassabi and he greatly contributed toward our experience. He was very knowledgeable about the Honda products and helped us select the perfect car for our son. We were able to negotiate a fair price and moved through finance quickly for a Saturday. I'm thankful we made the drive up from Clayton. Outstanding team at Southpoint Honda!

We came here to buy a used vehicle from 3 hours away. They would only hold the vehicle if we paid in full. Site unseen other than pictures we paid for the vehicle then traveled up to the dealership that weekend. Not all the scratches were represented in any of the pics. I plugged in an OCB device and found several faults. The dealer wasn't willing to do ANYTHING towards the faults. Kept telling us they checked it out. 4 different tires on the vehicle! If you are buying used from this dealer beware.

I purchased a new 2026 RX350h yesterday after comparing a preowned version and a new vehicle. They were exactly alike in every way - except the preowned was 2 years old, had 10k miles and needed to be detailed. The total price difference was $5,500, and the warranty on the preowned seemed substantially better. Sophia could sell me either one, and carefully gave me pros and cons on each vehicle. The preowned manager came out to talk with me after I offered less for the preowned than asking price. He obviously wanted me to buy preowned, but I was leaning toward new - despite the better warranty and lower price of the used car that was identical to the new. He was nice, but hard core wanted me to purchase the used one. I went to lunch while they detailed the used car. Upon return, Sophia gently pointed out items that became obvious to her after the car was cleaned up that I would have recognized over time, but were not apparent to my untrained eye: the car had multiple "dents" from a likely hailstorm. There was evidence on the tailgate of sanding and repainting, and overspray on the chrome trim. The vehicle, despite a clean Carfax report, had either been wrecked, or at least damaged enough that it had required substantial body work. I am massively thankful to Sophia. She is incredibly well studied and recognizes things I never would have. I would've paid over $50k for a substantially damaged used car if not for her. I do not hesitate to recommend her and her expertise. Now, as for Johnson Lexus Pre-owned... not so much. Thank you, Sophia!!!

Flange makes a comeback, what happened…read more.. Johnson Lexus Durham service used to extremely reliable (barring one past episode 5 years ago)- I actually took my car for 10 years to the same service specialist. However, my recent experience has me rethinking... They incorrectly failed my 2015 Lexus on the state inspection - tire tread was 2.3 as reported by them, while low from a safety standpoint, it is not a failure by state inspection (which is at less than 2), they required replacing four tires at $1340. Which is $445 above Costco charges. Secondly the rear 12v lighter wasn't working, it was a fuse that is easily accessible they put in a charge for $120 and had told me some sort of fusible link - I didn't know what that meant initially I approved it and upon further research and their own invoice said it was a fuse. Those fuses are cheap and easily accessible and shouldn't require 1 hour of labor. Old Lexus used to do this sort of service complementary sometimes. There were multiple errors that seemed to be designed to give them more money, and I am wondering if service management has changed that pushes for more revenue and profitability margin than serving the customer. While they corrected both of these errors and reversed $120 charge and redid inspection and passed without tires having to be changed. I hope they improve and not continue this path - this is path that Honda Durham was on and I moved on from that brand. I was planning on purchasing an RX-350 due to comfort and ease of servicing with Lexus as well as the vehicles, but has me rethinking if I should go all electric with Rivian R2 instead in the future. Oh, BTW, what is that flange you ask, that was just non-existing fusible links in modern cars - its joke for that have seen old Seinfeld episode :-)

All I needed was some windshield washer fluid for my car. I've always liked Rain-X brand washer fluid and recently have been buying gallons of the orange-colored 2-in-1 fluid. I like the orange version because it's all-season and works the same in cold and hot temperatures. The Rain-X washer fluids also supposedly apply water-beading properties to your windshield which help with visibility (safety). I used to detail my car and apply multiple coats of the Rain-X Original Glass Water Repellent myself. It worked really well. As soon as I entered the store, employee Justin K asked if he could help me with anything. I was in and out in a flash. He was helping customers real quicklike, super speedy. The washer fluid was $5.49 for a gallon plus $0.41 in sales tax (7.5%) so $5.90 total. The store looked clean, organized, and well-stocked. If I'm in Chapel Hill, need auto parts/supplies and don't want to drive far, this Advance Auto Parts will be one of the first places I come (this store is located near the Durham-Chapel Hill border). Thank you, Justin.

I received a phone call from them at lunch time and they told me the tire could not be repaired. They also told me that my other three tires were down to 2/32" of tread (2/32" of tread is the minimum to pass NC safety inspection). I was surprised by this since the tires weren't that old. He convinced me they were no good so I told him to proceed. He also wanted to do a four wheel alignment. I told him to proceed. When I got to the store to pick up my car, I asked to see my old tires. First I asked to see where the sidewall damage was that kept them from repairing the original tire. They couldn't show me where the damage was. I left that alone and looked at the other three tires. There was nothing wrong with them. They had over 5/32" of tread left. I got mad. When I asked for the printout on the alignment, they told me they couldn't show me that because the alignment printer was "broken". I got even madder. I should have made them remove the new tires and put my old ones back on. The representative told me he wasn't going to charge me for the alignment and was going to give me the tires at "his cost", which was $100 each. I just wanted to get away from them so I paid it and left. As I drove away, I realized that my steering wheel was not straight. This is something that is adjusted during an alignment. I immediately took my car to a trusted mechanic who checked the alignment and said it was out of alignment. I had him redo the alignment.

So, cool story. Before I owned both the home inspection company and Turnkey property solution…read morebusiness I currently run; in a past life I worked as car salesman and as a service writer for many years. That being said I know more of the inner workings of a dealership than most and am knowledgeable about the profit and loss margins and the best ways and timeframes to make a purchase. My companies are growing and I was looking for a very specific vehicle at a different brand dealership closer to my location who was offering what is considered an A-tier rebate program. The sales manager would not simply run the A-tier program that the corporate entity strictly enforces and he kept trying to hide little things in the offer to double dip for more front end gross. I don't nit pick or haggle when there is a deal on the table especially when I know the margins and the program, I own two businesses and understand that profit is never bad as long as there is transparency. Fast forward a few days and I found a Truck online at Hendrick Chevrolet Buick GMC Southpoint I looked up the staff online and saw my former associates Carlos Aragao and sales manager Geoffrey Edwards Both great guys. Carlos very quickly confirmed the Truck was on the lot I communicated with him what I was looking for due to tax claims and wanted to make sure the truck met the weight rating needs for the best outcome for making a section 179 deduction and also fulfilling my operational needs. Geoffrey worked the current promo program for all it was worth. Carlos was warm, friendly, laid back and best of all transparent and stayed longer than he should have sacrificing his personal time. Geoff has the calmest demeanor on the surface of anyone you will ever meet he makes you feel at home even when making a mid level purchase decision. He really tries to advocate rebate programs to get every customer the best outcome during a purchase decision. Underneath the calm you can tell his gears are always turning trying to find the win-win and I can honestly say not only as a previous co-worker 14 years removed from the industry they handled my deal no different than they would have handled any other as I have seen them from both sides of the fence. They were even patient with me as I neurotically double and triple checked numbers because let's face it, it's still a car deal. Once we came to terms the back end finance office was a party With Ryan Desmond. We stayed way too late just chatting and having a big ol' time. I wound up purchasing a modified version of the HAART platinum extended warranty protection because I do put unusually high mileage on all of my service vehicles in a relatively short time so for me I know that the right extended plan can actually bring real value. I don't leave many reviews because I very transparently over communicate, but when the service is this good it should be shouted from the roof tops. Go see Carlos Aregao if you want an open, honest, and chill experience. Go to a different place if you don't value transparency and accountability at all levels. If I could give my experience an 11 out of 10 I would; however, if 5 stars is all I can give here they are.

RUST RUST RUST! I would be cautious buying a Chevy or working with Hendrick…read more I bought a new Chevy Colorado five years back, the car only has 30,000 miles on it and I take good care of it. I recently found out my driver door has begun rusting through, the paint is flaking along the inner door, this is way more than a normal 'paint defect'. Hendrick has told me this is not under warranty and apparently considered normal based on my conversation with them. It's never been 'up north' or dealt with anything other than NC roads. They claimed they would work with Chevy on a 'Special Claim' but they will not return my calls and brush me off each time I get someone on the line. It's pretty poor service for this new vehicle with significant rust forming. If this was an exposed area that could have taken damage of some form, I could maybe understand some of their arguments, but its the inside of my door panel. Basically, for all you new car buyers this year, just a small warning of what you might have to deal with in the future here at Hendrick and Chevy.
