Not even a simple Hello. The sales guys seem to not care about their customers anyway. This happens EVERY TIME!!!!! This place is not a good place to purchase a vehicle. They absolutely do not care about their customers at all, and seem to view them just as dollar signs. I purchased an X3M from them recently, and they delivered it at night in a dimly lit area so I wouldn't notice the copious amounts of swirls and scratches all over the vehicle. Trying to get them to fix the issue was like pulling teeth. The last straw was I was in a minor accident nearby, and contacted them for support. They could not care less, essentially told me to look elsewhere and would not help me anymore than that. In short, these are very bad people to work with. Seeing as they sell high end products I expected much better service. Take your money elsewhere! read more

The worst. Don't go here! Had them order a wheel flare and light for my Mini. Drove 30 minutes to have them put it on; they told me, after two hours wait, that I needed to take it to a body shop. they also told me I needed 3 tires to pass inspection. Went to the body shop(Colony Auto--they are great) and turned out BMW Stratham had ordered the flare for the wrong side! oh, and at the body shop it turns out I only needed 1 tire. plus, the people at BMW Stratham are both arrogant and lazy. This is the only review I have ever posted online, but this place just sucks so terribly Im posting in hopes it helps someone avoid what I've gone through. Took my X5 in last year because hood was stuck. shut. Without approval, they did a computer update and some other recall items. The next day the car went ballistic, warning lights flashing, fan running constantly. Took it back to BMW Stratham, they said the battery was the problem and had to replace it. One day later, same problems were back. Took it back third time, spent more money, still wasnt fixed. Finally took it to a highly trusted BMW specialist who managed to undo all the damage BMW Stratham caused. Cost an additional $2500. Today I went in to look at a 5 series that they had that was very specific and my 328i had died so I needed a car in short order. I didn't want to go to BMW Stratham but I couldn't find another one anywhere and it is close to home so I figured I'll just buy it and never go back. Knowing who they are, I asked several times over the phone - multiple people actually - is the car available, and if so can I test drive it and take it home the next day as I needed a car. I was told come on down. I canceled a bunch of meetings and Got there this afternoon. Car could not be driven because it had not been through shop yet, but i could drive it through parking lot. So I asked to do that after looking at it. Was told well actually no it had a slashed tire and liability was too high (never did find the slash btw). Out of curiosity I asked how long would it be if I put down a deposit with right of refusal after test drive. Was told weeks, which is even more infuriating given I had asked. Just don't go there and if they pull this type of crap on you, raise hell and don't just buy another car/don't go back. Maybe they'll stop screwing with people just a little. Or lose business. Lackluster. They don't do well with the details for a luxury brand/dealership. They didn't finish setting up my car before delivery (tire pressure warning, inspection reminder) among other things. I wouldn't buy another BMW from them and their service department lacks knowledge on newer cars if you call and ask, specifically a newer EV like an I4 M50 if you need some info- For spending about 78k I would have expected more. I've bought from Lexus and Tesla prior and they were about on the level of Tesla when it comes to dealership experience. Not to mention my salesperson was more interested in her next sale then helping me out. read more

Dishonest Dealership! My experience started with BMW of Stratham with Kevin, my salesperson. I have been looking for a specific color and feature combo in a 2022 BMW X5M Competition. After finding the car through an internet search on their lot, I reached out to Kevin to inquire about the vehicle. I told him that I would agree to full MSRP for the vehicle plus their dealer fees. Between that and my Tier 1 credit rating, this should have been an easy transaction. Well, unfortunately, it was not. Living in Atlanta, I am over 1200 miles away. Kevin told me that they DO NOT, under any circumstance, do remote deals and that I would have to book a flight to New Hampshire to fly their to sign the paperwork. He also would not arrange any of the shipping, leaving that to me to find, arrange and pay for outside of the deal. Once we agreed on the price, he was very pushy about getting him the down payment, prior to them even showing my rates for the financing through BMW finance. Just stressful when it didn't need to be. After getting everything done with the financing and down payment, which I did within an hour, it seemed more and more difficult to get a hold of him. Once I started looking at flights, he then gave me specific windows where they can do my paperwork. Not only do I need to fly to New Hampshire to do something that every other dealership is doing remotely, but now I can only sign the paperwork for very specific dates and times? I continued to push back on coming up there. I just can't believe that this is the way this company does business. He assured me that they are a part of a Publicly traded company (Group 1 Automotive) and that the entire company has a policy against it. I told him that I was going to reach out to corporate and he told me I'd be wasting my time. My response was, "If I'm going to waste an entire day of my life traveling to your dealership, for something that can be done remotely, than I am willing to waste 30 minutes being told no by your company." After calling Group 1 Automotive, I was referred to the area director who is over their dealership. To no surprise, he told that what Kevin has been saying is NOT true and that they would be happy to do the deal remotely. I'm not sure why Kevin insisted on living up to the stereotype of car dealers being sleezy and untrustworthy, but he sure did. Perhaps it was because they didn't want to pay for a third party signing company. Or, perhaps it was because something was wrong with the car and by the time I waste a day of my life coming to get it, I would just take it anyway. These are the questions that ran through my head as I waited for my vehicle to arrive. Arranging the transportation myself left me with tons of anxiety. What happens if it arrives damaged, what do I do? The car arrived dirty and unwashed and with a completely empty tank of gas. I have bought dozens of new cars in my life and this was a first! The best part was calling Kevin to tell him that the regional director said we can do the deal remotely through a company called Mavsign. He said he's never heard of that before and then only 2 minutes later he referenced the company and their procedures forgetting his prior statement. I'm assuming BMW of Stratham knew that I'd never be in for service and that I would never buy a car from them again, and this is why I was treated so badly. Bonnie Leveille was incredibly unprofessional by not responding to my requests, leading to me being unable to purchase a vehicle I had been trying to for over a week. They sell cars online but won't let you make a deposit unless you see it in person, and they don't tell you until after they accept a deposit from someone else! They use two systems to communicate with customers and don't communicate with each other after passing you off to another sales representative. read more

The dealership used to have cards that encouraged 5 star reviews throughout the facility because their rating was well below where it should have been vs. other BMW dealerships. Let's face it, nobody like the process of dealing with a car dealership where you feel like you need a bath to clean off the BS when you are done. I had been a VERY loyal customer of this dealership and developed a great relationship to the former GM. After a ton of transition and a massive overhaul to the showroom you were left with an environment that was less than comforting. The Ira Motor Group was in control of this place and it had one vibe, than Group One took over and boy did it change. I recently purchased a vehicle at BMW of Peabody and the quality of service is far and away what one should expect from BMW. The only positive about this dealership is the sales advisor Kurt Baitz. He is ethical and will tell you as it is. The sales advisors are unfortunately puppets to the people that sit in the little glass room (Management Team) who ultimately decide how badly they are going to take you for a ride... This dealership had a smaller inventory of cars than other dealerships locally and if they need to trade you better believe the cost of the transport is in your deals somewhere..... Don't get me started on the service department.... This is worse than the sales experience in this place. Felt tape appears to be the way they tried to fix most of my concerns. I am not sure why they feel this is acceptable since Peabody installed a BMW accessory without it and not a single rattle. Stratham had installed the exact same accessory and it rattled terribly. They used felt to to "try" and fix it and it never helped.... Having the shop foreman go for a test drive to "hear" a rattle or engine sound is pointless when the same person under self admission doesn't hear these types of things very well. He has been with the dealership a very long time but tenure doesn't always translate into quality. This is unfortunately an example of this. Tone at the Top in service does explain a lot. I can't see going to this dealership when you have so many powerhouse locations in the area with larger inventory, more production slots, bigger service departments and nicer loaner cars. We went to Stratham BMW to browse cause my husband was considering buying his (our) first BMW- his dream car. We were comfortable as soon as we entered showroom. No annoying sales people hovering as soon as we got out of car. Pleasant environment and everyone super friendly! Tom, professional yet accommodating, showed us many choices as husband was not sure which model he wanted. We were able to test drive many cars without any complaints. We finally made a choice! During our experience there, we also met Steve, Kenny and many other friendly staff. Once we were done, a service specialist showed us how to set up cells, navigation etc., since we never owned a BMW. I need to stress that this dealership is outstanding!! read more

Worst repair service experience I've ever had. Ever. We made an appointment to have the oil changed on our X3 (leased from this dealer). The appointment was for 9:30. We arrived at 9:35, and after a short 10 minute intake, the car was taken back and we went out to run some errands. When I made the appointment, I was very clear that we were on a limited schedule, because our daughter's school had an early release that day. I was assured the oil change only took 45-60 minutes. 2.5 hours later, we returned to the dealer and found out they hadn't even started. When we expressed surprise, the service guy said our appointment was only for intake and had no bearing on when our car would actually be serviced. That seems nuts. He also said that he told us that because of a software recall, the service would take most of the day, which was a patent lie, because he never said anything about this taking longer than what we were initially told. When confronted with that, he rolled his eyes and called my wife a liar. He then tried to claim that because we left to run errands we were treated as "dropping the car off" and got bumped to the back of the line. I basically told him he was full of BS and we needed the car back ASAP or our daughter was going to be left without an adult at home. I suspect the guy just screwed up by marking us down as a "drop off", which then threw off the rest of the process. Then he tried to cover his mistakes with lies and blame. It's not someone I've seen in there previously, but the fact that he couldn't simply apologize and had to get angry, lie and call us liars is alarming. We live close to two other BMW dealers (Peabody and Burlington) but have driven out of our way to have our cars serviced at Stratham because we wanted to support them. No more of that nonsense. Once again, this is a review of the service department. My car is now almost 10 years old, I still bring it back to the dealer (although the dealership has changed hands since I bought the car), and they still treat me right. This year I was sure I'd have to spend some money because the car was making an awful, ominous grinding noise when I drove it. They said it was just some rust on the brakes and I need to drive it more. They've always been honest, they've always been quick, and as long as I give them a week I get a free loaner car. I see some differences from the old Dreher-Holloway days. The service department is bigger, but the salespeople seem sleazier. Not that I've bought anything from the new crop of salespeople but if I'm wandering around the showroom while I'm waiting for my car, they're all over me like ants at a picnic. Caveat Emptor: My family has purchased various vehicles from this dealership since 2001 with excellent service and care. We recently purchased our 2nd X5 from them and had a surprisingly poor experience. I chronicled our issues in a letter to the manager of the dealership (Ken Connor) and received an impersonal "boilerplate" response. His canned response to my message speaks volumes. With none of my issues addressed by the manager, it seems that the customer service concerns that I had are, in fact, systemic. To top it off, the end of the message contained a plea to be sure to service my vehicle there. This made his response feel even more tone deaf and dismissive. For all I know their service department may not be suffering the same fate as their sales department, but I'll be staying away for the foreseeable future. After reading reviews on various social media it's apparent that I am not alone with my experience and observations. It's sad to see such a great delership take such a wrong turn. Mike (GM), Frank (Sales MGR), resolved the situation completely and professionally and went out of their way to ensure that I was taken care of. Communication was excellent, action was swift and they acted with the customers best interest as the guiding principle. Sometimes stuff goes wrong. Horrible. Called to book my service appointment. Requested a loaner car. I was told it could not be determined if they would give me a loaner until the time of service. However they have a shuttle that leaves at 9am that would bring me to work. Booked my apt for 8:45, finished checking in by 9 - ready to take the shuttle. Turns out THERE IS NO SHUTTLE! At 9:20 I enquire about when the shuttle leaves and was told there's no shuttle so one of the service people took me to work. At 11:45 I call to see if I can get a ride back to get my car. The appointment was supposed to take 1.5 hours. I'm told the car wouldn't be ready until 12:30 or 1:00. 3 HOURS LATER and even then they weren't sure when they could send someone to pick me up!!! I needed to get my car on my lunch break as to not interfere with my work schedule. This has been the worst BMW experience ever. read more

We are from outside the immediate area, but had to take out BMW in for an unexpected service. Or so we thought. Our brakes were making an odd noise and felt concerning. We made an appointment to see a service advisor at BMW of Stratham. We were made to stand around waiting for Adam. Awkwardly the older gentlemen who give courtesy rides shuffled as seemed to make excuses about being busy. I explained my concern and Adam thought there wasn't much they could do. We were perplexed. No technician had even looked at the car. We were then informed that there was no loaner car available, yet we were promised one on the phone. We took a courtesy ride to a cafe where we waited hours beyond what was told to us and returned to learn that they could not find anything wrong with our brakes. We followed up our visit to our usual dealership and they ended up replacing the rotor disks. What is most frustrating about this BMW dealership is the lack of care. We have been BMW owners for many years now and this is by far the worst dealership service wise. I feel bad for those go here because it is the only one close. I suggest you check out BMW of Westbrook. It is worth the trip for the service level alone. You will feel like an important customer and not like a nuisance. I am beyond surprised that BMW would allow this sub performing dealership to exist. They are reducing the brand. read more

My fiancée and I visited BMW of Stratham on Sunday 11/24 with intention of test driving and leasing/buying a X3. When we entered the dealership we walked around waiting to be served by a dealer. As we kept waiting for service we sat at one of the tables. As time kept passing it was clear to us that the sales team did not want to acknowledge our presence or understand why we were even on the sales floor in the first place. After waiting over 30 minutes for someone to approach us we left the dealership without speaking to anyone. Clearly the sales team is not focused on serving their customers. I would hope that our age (both 27) didn't make us seem like serious buyers as we were hoping to close on a deal today, but we will take our sales elsewhere. With the state of the economy, I expect a little bit of hustle from my salesmen. When you consider dropping the big bucks for the name, you want to be treated somewhat with respect. Also, this place being about an hour from me, I have been trying to do some wheeling and dealing via email. This place really sucks. I'd recommend to take your business to another BMW dealership. I wanted to buy a CPO BMW 3 series - 2008 onwards with low miles. So I visited the dealership yesterday. I liked 2 Cars and was gonna buy one of them. Jon Parker was really impatient to sell me the car in 2 days, as it's end of the year. He was keep pressuring me to take the financing from BMW only. He called me today and I just asked him a simple question that why should I buy the car in 2 days, you're not even giving me any deal on the car? He replied me with "You're wasting my time". I was like WTF? I really don't even understand why BMW has hired Jon Parker. He is into customer services and he doesn't even know how to treat the customers. 9/10/2014 Received call from the General Manager re: my experience yesterday. He explains that someone was out sick - which leaves them all behind - don't know who this phantom sick person is - but I sure hope they realize the power they wield at the dealership. I explain to the GM that I don't feel they have a good on-boarding system - he dismisses this by saying while he is sorry to hear this - the majority of his customers feel differently - really? Have you read the other reviews, or been a customer waiting in the waiting room? Seems that this dealership forgets the old adage - an unhappy customer will take any opportunity to tell about their negative experience. For example, when we are all sitting in the waiting area waiting for our cars - we all talk - trust me not as many of your customers are as happy as you think! Next, we discuss my experience with Mr. Silva - I explain that I didn't appreciate being told I was wrong and called a liar. The GM sticks on this point - did Mr. Silva actually say you're a liar - to which I respond no. So the GM is happy to think nothing really happened - it's my "perception" of what happened. Which, must be wrong of course. I wanted to explain to him that people have the ability of communicating a message without actually saying the words - but I could tell from the message he was communicating to me that he didn't care about keeping me as a customer. Did he actually come out and say this "no" but did he communicate this message loud and clear, absolutely - message received. Don't worry, I will revise the old "Breck" commercials. Instead of telling 2 friends and having them tell 2 friends, I intend on telling the whole world consistently just how bad this place really is. 9/9/14 Brought my car in for 9:30am appointment. Like my first experience with this place no one is around in the service department and you have to sit and wait/hunt for an advisor. One final comes and doesn't care that they left you waiting. Explain to him that I don't appreciate waiting I was on time for my appointment they should be too. He tells me I am wrong and that I wasn't waiting long. Don't know where Mr. Silva got his training but where I come from the customer is always right and you NEVER tell the customer they are wrong to their face. This place is inconsistent with the service they provide. Unfortunately they suck more that they are good. My wife and I purchased a 2019 X3 on 2/15/19 and had a great experience overall. Our saleswoman Laura was excellent. She was very personable, low-pressure, and despite being under-the-weather was very patient throughout the entire sales process (we had a lot of questions!). The only snafu was a slight miss-communication between finance and sales regarding terms of the transaction but in the end it all worked out. Jeff in finance was great BTW. Having owned several Audi's, Volvo's and most recently a Lexus RX-350, this is our first BMW buying experience so time will tell in terms of the level of service we will receive post-sale. read more

This is a fabulous dealership. Over the years we have purchased three BMWs from them so far (and have two others that were purchased in Florida). As is the case with our dealership in St. Pete, Florida (Bert Smith), we could not have been happier with the Sales staff and the professionalism and decent, fair prices we have paid for our cars. As is usually the case, the service department is where after-purchase customers end up getting a really good feel for how well the dealership performs. I have a lot of confidence in Jim Medeiros, the Service Manager. He is incredibly responsive (I prefer to use email, and hear back almost immediately from him); he takes a personal interest in making sure our cars are handled carefully and professionally, and we don't get our cars back until he is 100% satisfied that everything has been completed to his standards. We (obviously!) like BMWs a lot, and have not really had that many problems that needed attention, but it is always nice to know Jim is there if we do need something taken care of. read more

I had E-mailed Michael prior to writing this review as I was understandably upset about the BAIT AND SWITCH scheme they are running along with the way Steve approached the situation. That said, to this day I still have not received an E-mail back from Michael "Rectifying the situation". SALES DEPARTMENT BAIT AND SWITCH!!!!! DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE... THESE PEOPLE WILL WASTE YOUR TIME AND THEN TELL YOU THE CAR DOESN'T EXIST BUT HERE'S ANOTHER ONE YOU MIGHT LIKE!!!!! It all started 3 weeks ago when I reached out about a new BMW 230i. I was in contact with Steven Hazard who is one of the sales people there (seemed like a nice guy via E-mail but once we got on the phone he was disrespectful and all about getting your money). I had reached out via E-mail about getting a copy of the window sticker along with a price estimate. Steve didn't think I was serious about the car via E-mail and asked that I call him which I did. We talked for a few minutes and I could tell right off the bat that this guy is a high pressure salesman. Asking all the regular questions they ask in order to SCREW YOU (how much do you want to spend, how much are you putting down, are you going to finance? How long? Etc. Etc.) I didn't answer all of his questions and he got somewhat irritated but I chocked it up to him perhaps having a bad day. In the coming days I had mentioned working with other dealers and Steve was FORCEFUL in asking that I send him the prices I've been quoted by other dealers (like that's any of his business). Every time I asked about the window sticker he deflected and asked for a quote from one of the "other dealers" I was working with. Nothing else mattered to him at this point except to get his hands on other dealerships quotes which I don't fully understand. That went on for about a week before he casually mentioned that the vehicle was in fact NOT NEW but was a LOANER CAR AND HAD OVER 5,000 MILES ON IT. But yet, THEY ARE SELLING IT AS A NEW CAR WITH NOT ONE PIECE OF THAT INFORMATION MENTIONED IN THE ONLINE AD OR AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OF SPEAKING (which among other things is primarily a dishonest practice). I then asked Steve to send me the Carfax which I never ended up getting. I let a week or so go by and then reached out again about getting a quote. I reached out on a Saturday, he said he'd get me a quote on Sunday, never heard from him and then Monday he sent me an E-mail saying the car was not for sale but he had a brand new convertible he'd sell that was ($10,000 MORE THEN THE CAR WE WERE ORIGINALLY TALKING ABOUT)... BAIT AND SWITCH!!! What made me ultimately write this review was the fact that I asked him to call me and he explained in a non-apologetic way that the vehicle was added online by mistake and isn't for sale but at the end of the phone call when I said good bye I could hear him laughing on the other end (I was so done with the situation I didn't even bother asking him why the car was still listed on their website if it's supposedly not for sale... WOULD BE GREAT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS SO FUNNY ABOUT WASTING A CUSTOMERS TIME FOR OVER 2 WEEKS REGARDING A CAR THAT DOESN'T EXIST!!!!
