I decided to try Bo & Vine while I was visiting family in the areas and reading the reviews. Let me tell you it did not disappoint! I ordered the Mad Hawaiian on a gluten-free bun. Talk about a burger and huge flavour bomb!!!! The meat patty had crispy edges, well seasoned, juicy and cooked to a perfect medium! Was topped with grilled pineapple, coleslaw and jalapeño. Take loads of napkins because you're going to need them. Messy and absolutely delicious! The side of sweet potato fries I could pass on though. The accompanying sauces were yummy though. Lots of sauces to choose from. I chose the house and chipotle. Had a glass of Hefeweizen to wash it down with. Cold, crisp and refreshing on this hot summer day. Definitely recommend and this is the type of burger I would most definitely come back for! Located in the heart of Salem City Centre. Street parking but I had no trouble finding parking at noon on Saturday at noon. Cozy interior with pleasant music and some outdoor seating as well. First-timer at Bo & Vine. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly. Their menu is extensive with vegan and non-vegan options. I ordered the vegan burger, but I didn't like the texture of the bun. The texture on the top of the bun was dry, but in a flaky and grainy way, which I wasn't a huge fan of. The create your own pile of fries was yummy, except the salt wasn't mixed well. I was eating a handful of salt in some piles and could taste the crystals. read more

The food was delicious! Definitely one of my favorite chicken burgers. My husband absolutely loved his. I really enjoyed the ambiance, especially sitting outside with this sunny weather. The service was great. Except for when it came to my 8yr old nephew who ordered a kids "lil slider", which comes with lettuce, but they forgot the lettuce. Today I had the the Hulk Smash burger! Smashed avocado, house pepper Jack beer cheese, pickled onion, fresh cilantro and house chipotle aoli on a smash burger sandwiched between the Bo & Vine, self-proclaimed, Signature Bun. ($14) I also added bacon. ($3) My husband and I had a 'share' order of fries. ($8) The burger and toppings were good but I don't care for their bun. If I dine here again I will try the thick cut buttered toast for $1 extra. The fries were warm, not hot, and a little more limp than I care for. The dipping sauces we ordered to enjoy with our fries, were great! Camp fire sauce (ranch dressing and BBQ sauce), garlic aoli and sweet chili sauce. All delicious! I can't speak to the service as it was my husband who ordered and picked up our food. It's counter service, and pickup, at Bo & Vine. Fast casual. We sat outside on the sidewalk (so we could keep an eye on our bicycles, even though they were locked up), which would have been a little nicer if we didn't have one man approach our table while we were eating, to ask us for money and another young lady, clearly high on drugs, dance around, scratch her body and pick her nose. I'm not sure if there's anything the restaurant could do about this, or if it's just accepted now in Salem, but it doesn't make for a relaxing meal. I would suggest dining inside, as long as there is space available. In short, I would eat here again if it was suggested by someone else we were dining with but I've had better burgers and fries elsewhere. Their sauces are bomb, though! read more

We tried the special for December which was chicken and waffle sandwich. Everything was well cooked. The chicken was moist and crunchy. The Belgian waffle was fluffy and authentic. We loved it for the most part. My only thing is between the sauces inside and the sugar crystal in the waffle made the sandwich to sweet. I kept eating my fries in between nights that has spicy sauce. I would have liked the waffle to be a bit crispier outside to give it better holding as a sand-which too. Other than those two minor personal preferences we enjoyed the take out which was quick and friendly. read more

The only redeeming quality here is the friendly staff. The food, from the burger and chicken sandwich to the fries, is so flavorless that I went home and took a Covid test. The vibe is on point, albeit moderately hipster, but the music was so obnoxiously loud that I could hardly have a conversation inside. Price was average for a burger, but don't even bother with the unseasoned chicken sandwich. They do have Jones Soda in a fountain, which is rare and appreciated. They also offer bottles of Coca-Cola for those who are not Jones Soda fans. So this place is a pass for me. read more

The restaurant is easy to find while walking in downtown Salem. What grabbed my attention was their smash burgers. We would make an order in the front and wait until they call your name to pick it up from the front. They had plenty of seating options and free water to drink from. The restaurant was lighted and their bathrooms were clean. I ordered the Bo & Vine burger with fries, with spicy ketchup for the fries. The ketchup could have been spicier. I've made two visits here so far and gone out of my way about 50 miles to do so. The first visit was novel and great, plus there wasn't much of a crowd. So we were able to find a seat inside the small dining room. The second time we went, things were crowded! And I hear that's the norm. There's not much indoor seating, which isn't a big issue if the weather is nice and you grab a table outside; however, on a colder or wetter day, you may not have a place to sit. That said, I do love the food here. I tried two different burger specials between the two times I visited and enjoyed both. Food is freshly made and cooked to order, so there's a bit of a wait but quality is not lacking. I recommend their house made tots. They're not like any other tater tot I've had. Today my husband and I went by afterreading other good reviews here on Yelp. We wanted a good burger close to home and found it. I'm a big smash burger fan and I feel these are good examples. Him and I both went with the Willamette (though I opted for no grilled onions) and it was incredible. Full of flavor, moist, fresh crisp greens, the bun was sturdy yet soft (hate when a moist burger ends in a soggy bun!), we were both impressed. We also shared the Bacon Cheddar Tots. Absolutely a 5 star spot. Price is high-ish, it was $46 for us to get the burgers, 2 drinks and share the tots. But absolutely would come back again. Had a party of with no idea what to do for dinner so we popped in to Bo and Vine and had a great experience. Luckily they had seating for us as the space is quite small. They had a wonderfully diverse menu that included the classics but also had a lot of unique choices. The kimchi Burger was the star of our meal, and when they tell you that one serving of shareable fries is plenty they aren't kidding. We had a ton left over after sharing amongst four people. They also know their way around salting French fries. I have to give them big props for using delicious flake salt . The sauces are delicious and unlimited. I was walking around downtown Salem looking for something to eat. This was the only place with more than 1 person. Reviews were good. I was torn between the Pittburger and the Willamette, and I chose the Pittburger. I also ordered a Lager. She poured the beer out of a can- I honestly didn't notice the lack of taps. But a can? It was way too light and bubbly and just barely drinkable. The burger however was divine. Juicy, I could taste everything in it, the bun wasn't overpowering, and it had just the right kick of spice/heat; and it was served hot. I ate the whole thing; stuffed myself. Ok so after 6 months we were finally able to make our way back to the brick and mortar business. We are just as happy with their burgers and fries, as the Salem fair. We ordered a pit master burger and a smash burger with a side of cheddar bacon tots and sweet potato fries. Both were excellent and filling. With the sides you get a huge selection of dipping sauces. (Bonus points). The staff was super friendly and the rest rooms clean. They were able to get the food out quickly and hot. Nothing worse than cold fries. I stopped here for a late lunch after an appt in Salem. I got one of their chicken sandwiches and a side salad with vinaigrette. The sandwich was delicious and a little messy. No problem there. The side salad came out with what looked and tasted like a circular squirt of Dijon mustard. When I brought this to the attention of the counter staff, they insisted that it was vinaigrette. If that's true, Bo & Vine should rethink their vinaigrette. It's identical in appearance and taste to Dijon mustard. I won't be ordering that again. read more

The food here is good. We had the spicy fried chicken sandwich and the homemade tater tots which were pretty tasty. This place is fast casual so you order at the counter, pick up the food yourself and bus your own table so I question why I should tip, which I did. My problems with the place are the following: The lady at counter did not want to be there. She was not friendly and rather impatient. The beer selection is very limited and the beer I got was warm. A warm IPA is not a good thing. Unacceptable in a beer focused community. I would consider getting take out if I am here in the future. read more

Just because it looks like every other wanna be trendy restaurant in small towns doesn't make this place great. The meat pattys are flavorless. Have they never heard of seasoning the beef? Even the toppings are bland and you really have to rely on them for flavor... The bun is ok. Nothing special , really bland. And the fries were soggy and looked burnt. If you're familiar with the Counter back in CA around 2012-2014 when it was a thing - this place is like that. You can order one of their burgers or create your own. My bf ordered one of theirs and I made my own. We were both left unimpressed and disappointed. Even the sauces are subpar... most are just different store bought condiments mixes together . Credit though for the creative cherry habanero but the flavors don't play well together-- try peach or mango or make a lemon habanero salsa? My bf did like his chocolate milkshake though. This place me really made me homesick and miss Plan Check and other LA spots. You're better off with In and Out or Shake Shack, honestly. I know this review came off as mean.. .didn't mean to. What a staple of Downtown Salem! For my visit to Oregon, I had to try some burgers from Bo & Vine! Due to COVID-19, we ordered takeout (even though they offer dine-in and outdoor seating currently). They enforce social distancing of 6 ft. apart while you wait in line and all the staff is masked! We ordered a Rodeo, Bo & Vine burger, Animal House, and Bo & Vine Tots. We came in during happy hour, so the prices were good for my wallet. The staff was so friendly and we got our food in about 5 minutes! So quick! The Bo & Vine burger was delicious! I added garlic aoli into it, so it was heavenly! The Rodeo was also very well flavored. Be warned, the buns on their burgers are VERY DENSE. I was expecting a fluffy soft bun, but I definitey had to bite a bit harder for these burgers. The Animal House was perfect and the fries were still crispy despite being covered in cheese and sauce! The Bo & Vine Tots were very flavorful... but after eating a couple, it got saltier and saltier as I ate more. Definitely need to share the tots with a few people. read more

These burgers were so delicious. The fried cheese on the burger was great. You have to walk up and order, it's a small place, a little cramped. And if there is a lot of people, like it was for us, it can get pretty loud. The tots were good but a little overcooked.
