Read a lot of great reviews about happy hour. It was okay but not great. First disappointment, you park in what you think is their parking lot. It's not. And it's $18. In Salem Oregon. If you read my reviews you know I want value. $18 puts a hole in your wallet to begin with. Pulled out and parked on the street. We ordered the hummus plate. World's smallest hummus plate. The drinks were cheap but not that good. Finally got the sliders, and they were good. For our 2nd drinks we went off happy hour and got a beer and glass of wine. The inside was a little too stark. We went early but it was empty. That was a little off putting. The service was okay, but at least four different people came to our table. Again, a little off putting. We happened to visit during happy hour timeframe. They have a great happy hour menu! We ordered the calamari with a yummy dipping sauce. Calamari was fried perfectly. We ordered our burgers and surprisingly they gave fry options. Regular, beer battered, waffle, Curley fries or tater tots. They make their own ranch dipping the fries in.. yummm. The restaurant is clean and has an upscale feel to it. The wait staff are very friendly and fast. The food was ok. The Mac and Cheese was very good and so were all the various fried potatoes. The Blue Burger was good but the Guacamole Burger was just ok. My friend didn't finish the Philly Cheesesteak and didn't want to take the leftovers home. We got our drinks and the waitress immediately walked away, we didn't have time to ask for straws. We then get our appetizer, which was the pesto mushroom flat bread. First issue was, we didn't get any cutlery or napkins, and of course she had walked away before we could ask. So eating with our hands it was. The mushrooms were canned, can't taste the pesto at all, and overall it was just not good. Then my Portobello burger with curly fries came and she asked us if we wanted cutlery, so we said yes and we got our cutlery and napkins. Took a bite of my burger and it was sour...... Found this place on our way down from PDX to Eugene. Located in downtown Salem. Restaurant was about half full on a Tuesday at 1:30. My wife and I wanted a light lunch at this hour. We both got the chicken cobb salad with ranch dressing. Your typical Cobb ingredients which were good. Really enjoyed the smoky grilled chicken. We each got two pieces of garlic toast with our salad. Stopped in at Masonry Grill with a large group from work on a Wednesday at 4:30pm. We had the place to ourselves! We ordered an assortment of appetizers and drinks and since there was only 1 server and 1 cook, it did take a bit of time but nothing out of the ordinary. The appetizers satisfied the masses and we each tried a little of everything. The margarita flight included regular, guava, mango and strawberry. Each of the flavors were refreshing and had purée vs syrup which made it taste more authentic. The flight included the perfect portion to sample each flavor. The soy ginger wrap was light yet filling and the waffle fries crispy although I felt like I could have been served more (in comparison to the other people who had ordered waffle fries with their entree). Wow I had one of their super cheese Smash burgers today. I sat there and just looked at it and said, "I'm going to need a box!" Crazy huge and could hardly get my mouth open wide enough. It tasted delicious too but I might not get the Super Cheese one again or maybe light cheese. It was so good! My husband got the Philly Sandwich, which is pretty much go to choice. Wow, what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be! After driving around Downtown Salem looking for parking h for a different restaurant the only spot open was directly in front of this place. We had driven by the outdoor seating area with a beautiful gas fire pit but never stopped. So, we walked in not knowing what to expect. The inside was beautiful! Very open, high ceilings, beautiful showcase bar and plenty of seating. We were seated right away and the waitress brought us our beverages immediately. Ordered quickly and waited only about 15-20 minutes. I ordered the Brussel sprouts and the BBQ chicken salad and my husband got the classic cheeseburger and fries. As we enjoy the heated outdoor patio and savor the charcuterie, I have already had such an outstanding experience and wanted to take a moment to Yelp. I've driven past on multiple occasions and always said, we should try that place. The allure of the fire on the street and the cozy dining area and bar visible through the windows as we cruised by called to us. It's been 2 yrs and happened to drive by, see the fire and still had not had a bite. It was time. Dog in tow we asked if it were possible to sit outside on the patio. "Of course, let us turn on the heaters and would your puppy like some water." The stage was set. I ordered the smoked ribs and my wife had the Bevette steak. The charcuterie is first of course. Definitely delicious with the highlight being the bacon butter. I need the recipe. The ribs were excellent, in the top 3 in our area. The steak was perfectly cooked but I didn't get a chance to try it as it disappeared. I came in for lunch on a Wednesday so it was slow, I saw five other groups & whatever they ordered looked great! The drink menu is full bar, you can get anything. As I was driving I went with a delicious strawberry lemonade, one of many flavor options. As pictured I ordered the pulled pork lunch special, great portion & perfect slaw-pork flavor. Also the curly fries were perfect & they let me have three dipping sauces because I couldn't decide. The success of the lunch special led me to try the dessert special too. Graham cracker crusts are hard to do, but the chef did wonderful. Balancing peanut butter & cheesecake flavors is hard because they are both strong, but it was so smooth, especially with that chocolate sauce. I've been here 4 times and none of those times was I impressed with the food. Today 10 of us went in for Happy Hour. I told the hostess that we would need separate checks, she said they can't do that but they would do 4 people per check. My response, "well if I had known that I would not have brought 10 people with me". The server however had no problem with separate checks and he was a really good server. What I got was 2 pieces of burned beyond recognition impersonations of beef the size of quarters on buttery toasted cold buns - the meat was also cold, the cheese wasn't melted! As for the fries I received 6 - yes 6 cold french fries. When I questioned the quantity I was told that was what is served for Happy Hour. My suggestion don't have food for Happy Hour stick to drinks and just let people order off the regular menu. I did enjoy the Lemon Drop martini however there was far too much sugar on the rim. The server did offer to have my burgers remade but I just didn't want to wait - I ate them "as is". Note: we were the only people in the place besides the wait staff so it's not like the cook was overwhelmed or anything. I can honestly say, that for me, I will not be going back here to eat and I will not recommend it to anyone. read more

The food that I got was their guac burger w/ waffle fries and to be honest it was a bit bland and flavorless did not feel like it was seasoned much but the waffle fries were great! Certain things caught our eyes on the menu, but unfortunately they were out of all 3 of those food items. We also ordered 2 house margaritas and one VIRGIN margarita (seeing that I am pregnant). The waitress seemed unsure about this choice but said she could make it. Food was not exciting and definitely not special in any way. We got the bill and noticed we were charged for 3 margaritas, so we questioned why a virgin is the same cost. The waitress just said "thats just how it is here." We showed our distaste for this response and she smiled and assured us there was nothing to be done. I should have ordered a lemonade, because thats what it was. Went there and as soon as I walked in there was a lady leaving, saying awful service! We were immediately greeted and offered to sit inside or outside. Our waiter was there within 5 minutes and was patient with us deciding what we wanted and came back every few minutes and helped when asked what he recommended between two items that I had picked. I went with the Capellini Pomodoro with chicken and had a side salad. It was delicious and the side salad was large and exceptionally fresh.
