I honestly cannot say enough good things about Bo Jonsson's service! I took my Volvo to the dealership for regular maintenance (and have for ~6 years), but when they couldn't fix a simple a/c issue I went to Bo Jonsson. Bo is the mechanic everyone should expect: he is open and honest about all necessary maintenance, talks you through everything that needs to be done, is in constant contact through the entire service, walks you through everything he either found or completed with your car, and charges an honest rate for the work completed. This is the "old school" service shop everyone should expect, not the dealer that charges way more than they should, never talks to you only to say "you car is done," and hardly explains what they actually did. I don't know why I kept going to the dealership but am so happy to have found this service shop and will have my Volvo serviced here for as long as I have this car. read more

We had Bo Jonsson did our Mercedes service and repair a couple of times. Each time I found them to be responsive, knowledgeable, and honest. For a service, if they knows certain parts are not due for a replacement yet, he would tell you rather than charge you blindly based on a service code. If there is an unknown diagnosis, he would give you a likely problem scenario and if it ended up being simpler, he would charge you less even though he had gotten authorization to do the potential likely work. I'm not going back because of that, even though the work was solid. Plenty of other shops in the area with more respectful owners/employees. Last time I went they tacked on extra charges and did extra work I didn't ask for instead of being honest about what they were willing to do because they figured I'd just be ok with it. My 2000 Volvo C70 cabriolet needed a driver's door window actuator, which - as it turns out - is a really tough repair. My longtime Volvo mechanic warned me of this after telling me he was retiring. He recommended Bo Jonsson's. To their credit, they sourced the last OEM part in the U.S., so I didn't have to worry about something from a "pick 'n pull." I was also having problems with the door lock on the driver's side and asked that they look into that. They fixed the window actuator, but now it goes up and down really slowly. And the door lock is such that I must unlock the doors with the button on the armrest in order for the door to close when I exit the car. If I forget, the door won't close. Once the door is closed, *then* I can lock the door. The trim panel under the steering wheel where some of the wiring is located was roughly pulled down and it won't go back into place. When I went to pick it up, and paid $2,000+ for the work, Patric tried to upsell me on another $2,000 worth of repairs. The faults he identified were real. But - good God, man - that's poor timing. I would have taken it back to fix the problems, but they're 45 minutes from my home, so it's a pain. These guys know Volvos. A glance around their shop will tell you that. But the work is not as fastidious as that for which the brand is renowned. I'm tempted to use YouTube videos and the Volvo C70 Mk I group on Facebook for my repairs from now on. read more

Wow! Such great customer service. Owner Patric was amazing. I came in feeling hopeless with my 2003 Saab. Apparently, they don't make parts for this car anymore. I needed to get my car smogged when I purchased It. Unfortunately, i failed the smog test and I had difficulty finding a place that would service it. Apparently reading online reviews on Google, smogging is an issue with this car. I am so grateful I found Bo Jonsson's Car Service. A very reputable, honest, trustworthy establishment that I would highly recommend. Patric spent countless hours working on my car, and was so determined to find the solution. The owner failed the attitude test - I drove up to drop off car for a scheduled appointment - he glanced up briefly and motioned at me me to back up - as I sat there dumbfounded by his attitude he looked up again, then back down at his keyboard telling me to park on the street. Jonsson's is fair and honest. I highly recommend them. Patric is the owner and Pete was my mechanic. Don't go to Peter Pan BMW service because they will rip you off. Go to Jonsson's I had a convertible problem on my 2009 BMW convertible top. BMW quoted me $2614.26 (see photos) and Bo Jonsson charged me essentially $150. They are honest and did a great job. See attached photos of the quotes and problem. BMW tried to gouge me for sure. I said his price was essentially $150 because I only had a problem with the right side and asked them to replace the left side as it would wear out soon. So total for both sides was $298.57 Here's the detail. The inside of my c pillar is covered with a cosmetic trim piece. It closes and opens as the top goes up and down. There is a cable that attaches to the trim piece and routes to a spring anchor location in the trunk. That cable got stretched and the trim piece did not close correctly. See photos. I took it to Patric at Bo Jonsson and he said an estimate of 2 hrs but he would only charge me for the actual time. I took it to BMW after that and explained in detail to the service manager and showed him the cable replacement. Then he responded by saying that the whole rail trim piece assembly with cables would have to be replaced. I tried to explain that it didn't make sense but all he did was repeat himself. Quote was $2616.14. Attempted rip off failed as I went to Jonsson's! I took it to Bo Jonsson the next day and watched the mechanic Pete repair it. Patrick saved my car, my sanity and a whole bunch of money. When I spilled water on my passenger seat and took out my airbag electronics -- yes! -- a common problem! Patrick offered to run it thru the diagnostic computer and see if he could re-set the code. No go. It looked like I was destined to go to car hell and get raked over the coals at the dealer. Then he said -- before you go -- turn the heat on full blast and try drying the car out as much as possible. I did that. I heated and blasted and IT WORKED! The dealer wanted to charge $270 just to diagnose it. I couldn't even bear to think about what the fix might cost. Patrick charged me $0. My gratitude is boundless. Patric and his team are incredible. For decades, I had dreamed of owning a 1995 850 T-5R wagon with a manual transmission - Patric and the team at Bo Jonsson's made that a reality! They completed a manual transmission swap for me in 2022 and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience and the finished product. Patric was very clear with me that this would be a "back burner" project, but that he would do his best to get it finished in a timely manner - which he did. Patric always set realistic expectations and managed everything magnificently. I dropped off the donor vehicle (with the manual transmission in it) and my Cream Yellow T-5R, and the team at Bo Jonsson's had both transmissions out within a week or two, and it was a smooth process from beginning to end. Patric was always upfront and kept me informed along the way and he would reach out to me whenever we needed a rare part or an ECU, so I felt like we were working on the project together and I was in the loop at all times. Bo Jonsson's finished the manual transmission swap in June of 2022 and I've put 4,000+ miles on the car since then without any issues. Pat is the best. In the past 2 weeks my car wouldn't start reliably, to the point where I didn't want to drive it anywhere. After the latest incident, I called him in a panic one morning and asked if I could bring it to him that afternoon. After some solid diagnostic work in which he asked me questions, plugged in his diagnostic laptop into my car, and walked me through the different scenarios, he figured it out, got the part from a stockiest, and had me on my way, all in 2.5 hours on a Friday afternoon. All fixed, and the cost was reasonable. Amazing. I've been taking my car to him for regular service and one-offs since it went off-warranty 2+ years ago.
