Have been here twice now and am absolutely hooked…read more First time was for a friend's birthday doing the holiday ornaments class with (I think) Josh and he was great handling myself and a couple others as beginners and also folks who had a little more experience. Paced the class well and generally just well done. Second time I went with my wife and our ten year old daughter to do the flowers with Xander. Another great experience with different techniques and again well done with just enough help mixed with freedom to work. We are already looking for more family blacksmithing classes to do. As a note, when I went in December it was a perfect temperature inside with the heat as it was cold outside. In April... even on a cooler day it was very hot inside (which is not a surprise given the heat of the fires) so make sure to dress safely but appropriately. They do have water cups and a refill station for bottles as well as ice for when you are too warm and need to cool off. Well done and other than I wish it was closer to me, zero complaints.

And if you get stuck the instructor is right there to help you. Our instructor was Kyle. He was not overbearing or boring at all! His enthusiasm and encouragement went a long way towards making us feel comfortable. Plus he offered some expert help to make our knives go from butter basic to pointy kitchen. Some need to know info - everything is provided (protective eye wear, aprons, gloves and I did see ear plugs). They have cups and a water fountain but I would probably bring my own water bottle. There are breaks. There are bathrooms that are clean. It is very loud. It is hot. It is hard work and you will most likely be sore the next day. It could be addictive.

I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

There is a small indoor portion in the church, where there are various vendors mostly selling women's jewelry. That is about 80% of the vendors at least when I visited in 2025. There was a stand selling great olive oil and olives (both of which I purchase) and a stand selling the delicious Greek desserts I basically ate every day while I lived in Astoria, Queens (one of the largest Greek communities in the US). The ladies at the bakery were so friendly, even offering my son a cookie for free (and of course he takes the entire box!). Outside, there is another bakery (with about 4 times the size of the line), and other food stalls. We got a lamb gyro with tzatziki and it was out of this world. There is a tent with music, where some people were dancing and an occasional singer or band would rotate in and out. Also in the tent was a drink vendor where my partner and I enjoyed a glass of white wine on a very hot day. The kids were drawn to the bouncy houses, which included some traditional ones and a blow up slide. It cost $10 per child for use all day. They certainly got their money's worth! There was a sign for face painting and pony rides but I did not see either and the ladies working the desk didn't know when or if they'd actually show up. Overall, a very relaxing spot. Don't expect a huge festival but a relaxed afternoon out or evening. There is also a lovely flower vendor that is a nice place to wander or buy flowers for the spring.

Review is for the summer camp experience…read more The classes are advertised like the children will make pottery and learn how to paint scenes or animals (similar to bigger paint studies that do the step by step instructions). However, they didn't do that. Instead they used clay to make something, that was never in a kiln so it comes home wet and soft. In regards to the painting, most of the paintings had glitter or wet paint. Leaving tons of glitter in my car and in my house. The paint getting on my clothes as I try to help my child collect all her artwork for the day (did ruin my shirt). Also, my child was sent home with what looked like blue "glob" that immediately made anyone's hands turn blue when they touched it. Also, my child left there everyday with paint on herself. They need to incorporate a cleanup before pickup to remedy this and put all items away. We would immediately go home and have my child wash up. As a full-time working Mom whose children have been in daycares, Kidcreate Studio would benefit from incorporating some of the day to day of daycare (cubbies for children's items (lunchboxes/water bottles for easy grab and pick-up/drop off), 15 min at the end of each day for cleanup and washing up, anything not fully dried stays over night and can be picked up later, etc.) Therefore, I find this summer camp overpriced for what you receive and will not be returning or recommending to friends and family.
