DO NOT LIVE HERE. This property has serious safety and management issues. There are frequently homeless individuals inside the building and groups congregating on the stairwells. On one occasion, someone was urinating and defecating in a bucket on the third floor and spilled it in the hallway. When I reported this, management refused to check and told me to call the police myself. Situations like this are common, and management repeatedly claims the property is "open to the public," so their security team can't intervene. That's unacceptable for a residential building where tenants should feel safe. As a service member, I was especially concerned about leaving my wife here alone during deployment. Management offered no support and simply said I was out of luck. They advertise themselves as "military friendly," but allowing lease termination with deployment orders isn't a benefit -- it's required by law. I did go on deployment and received my letter but dealing with them while preparing for deployment was a stressor itself due to their management If you're looking for poor management, inconsistent communication, people screaming at night, little to no security, homeless people and ongoing safety concerns, this is the place. My mother has been here a little over a year and has always had a very fast response whenever she needed something fixed in her apartment or a routine maintenance. everyone is very profesional and respectful. I especially wanted to extend our gratitude to Juan in the management office. He has gone above and beyond helping my mother on several occasions. My mother is hard of hearing and doesn't understand technology very well. Juan is very patient with her and always helps her resolve any concerns she or questions she has. Although I experienced some parking issues during my first month (mostly due to the poor communication) the manger (Dominique) reached out to me to make it right. Where to start? Let me start off by telling you that this will definitely be the last tour you take. I inquired about the apartments in early July and Spencer was very quick to reach out to me and assured me that once the construction was complete, the apartments would be worth the wait. Fast forward to today, and I'm glad I was one of the early tenants because the first units went quick and they're worth every penny you pay for in rent. You can't beat the location and proximity to everything and the 5 star treatment you receive from Spencer and Napoleon every time you walk in the lease lounge! Spencer was always flexible and went out of his way to accommodate my leasing process even on his days off. Every time I walk in the lounge just to say Hello, Spencer steps away from his desk in his office, greets me, and makes sure that my stay has been up to Alexan Millenia's standard. Let me tell you, Alexan Millenia sets the bar, and they set it high. I toured various other communities in the Otay Ranch area and Alexan Millenia blew them out of the water. The gym is not your typical treadmill-kettle bell set up most apartment communities have and the best part? It's open 24 hours! I've yet to see a squat rack and stair masters in apartment gym but they have them here! There are countless lounging areas all around the community and it really feels like a 5 star resort! Although there's construction going on at the moment, the windows and walls do a phenomenal job at keeping your apartment quiet and serene. The apartment units sell themselves, but don't take my word for it. Visit the leasing office and ask for Spencer! He will take care of you! If I didn't have to extend my lease by a few more months, I sure wouldn't. It seems very enticing at first but let me tell you, they'll take your money. We paid for "reserved" carport parking and for NINE months it was never enforced and we would constantly find someone in our parking spot. Imagine you're coming home from work, pulling into the parking lot just wondering if your PAID parking is open or not. We've reported it MANY MANY times and what did they do? They sent an email reminder to the residents and printed out a "reserved" parking sign and stuck it on the pole in a spot where no one even sees it so regardless, people still parked in our spot. The only reimbursement that "upper management approved" for was $100. Nine months of paying $50 for reserved parking where you don't even get to park and you only give us back $100 out of what SHOULD be $450 WITH documentation!? You'll be left to handle your own parking issue, especially after hours. Goodluck! Residents hoard so much crap on their balconies, dogs shit everywhere, EVEN on the balconies (you can see the run off on the walls below the balconies above the garages), the dumpster is always disgusting, trash cans are constantly out, walls are so thin you hear EVERYTHING even if you are on the third floor. Management creates these "rules/protocols" yet no one enforces it. Even upon reopening of the gym and pool after COVID, they allow people to walk around without masks! We haven't been able to use the gym, pool, or lounge for four months and they weren't considerate enough to lower the rent for amenities that we couldn't use! Yet ANOTHER thing we were paying for without access to! They've increased the month to month to its maximum and "they can't do anything about it." So regardless if you've being a good resident, followed the rules, or paid rent on time, they don't care. Even if they owe you for not resolving paid parking issues. They just want your money and will take FULL advantage in doing so. They'll do what is best for them. Do NOT be fooled. They May seem nice but when you need something to be taken care of, they take forever to get back to you and blame issues they can't resolve on "upper management." Don't waste your money and stay FAR away from here. This place is on its way to being reported for poor management. read more

When my husband and I first moved to Chula Vista we were living at a different apartment complex, we were so unhappy. Therefore, we ended up breaking our lease and moving to Boardwalk at Millenia! I'll start by mentioning Kelsey, the Assistant Manager. She was absolutely incredible! She made me feel super comfortable from the moment we walked in (prior to the pandemic). I feel like I asked so many questions yet she remained patient and explained everything with such calmness and expertise. I had visited a dozen of offices for two weeks and majority of the times we came across property managers/leasing assistants that were so arrogant. So thank you Kelsey for being super sweet and giving us such incredible customer service. The property includes many amenities and its walking distance from shopping centers, restaurants, grocery stores, parks, and so much more! Sadly, we were only there for a few months because my husband got sent to a different state for work (for 10 months). And because I didn't want to be alone, I came to live in NC with my family. HOWEVER, I just signed my new lease and we are moving back to Millenia in September! I am beyond excited and I can't wait to be living at such a wonderful place, with my little family again. This time around, I've been helped by Brittany and although I haven't had the pleasure of meeting her in person, she's been great over the phone. She projected such an attentive tone while I was asking questions on different units. She quickly helped me begin the process. I can't stress the importance of customer service; Kelsey and Brittany are both incredible! Not going to lie, Boardwalk is a bit on the pricey side but in my opinion, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a luxurious place to live that has a bunch of different places to walk to (or drive to, if you're lazy like me) then go check out Boardwalk at Millenia, you won't regret it! read more

Was a tenant there for 2 years. Paid my rent on time every month. Never had any issues with other tenants or property management. Gave adequate notice for moving out. There is no damage to the apartment what so ever. I've been waiting 4 months for my security deposit. California law states 21 days. I will say that it is a beautiful apartment. Interior has nice modern touches, carpet inside room is soft, living room has nice, dark wood floors, you get a spacious balcony, and you have your very own washer and dryer. Amenities are awesome too - you definitely get what you pay for. Can't beat the location too - restaurants and stores nearby. The only downside is that you have to pay for valet trash..yes, you have to whether you use it or not. It is mandatory. And on top of that, you have to pay for regular trash (the dumpster outside of your apartment) as well. I had to check w/ the leasing office just to make sure. At Boardwalk, you are basically required to pay for regular trash and valet trash, which in my opinion is a little too much. Other than that, beautiful apartment. read more

I'll be honest, moving here in the beginning was amazing. The amenities were open because COVID wasn't a thing yet. I totally agree with closing the gym, and community area, but closing the outside areas, pool, and the pet spa, is ridiculous. Another thing that is ridiculous, is that we are paying for these amenities that we cannot use. No one in the front office answers phone calls or emails. Even when you walk up to the leasing office door, they will not greet you. There are two couples living in this apartment. Four cars in total. We have a garage, so that counts as a parking spot, and we are only allowed one additional car spot where we have to pay $30 for. What do we do with the additional 2 cars? We literally have to fight for parking on the streets so our car does not get towed. Don't even get me started on the valet trash that isn't optional, yet we still pay for. The people don't even come by to take the trash, and when they do, trash is all on the ground afterwards. Oh, and personally, my favorite, the four teenagers on skateboards who throw things at your dogs on the balcony, will run you over on the sidewalk, curse at you and give you the middle finger, beat on your door in the middle of the night, ding dong ditch you, and throw your valet trashcan down the second floor stairs. I have lived in this community for about 7 months and I do enjoy the convenience and the beauty of the neighborhood. I have normal neighbor issues that come with living in an apartment and due to covid you can't really enjoy the amenities provided to the fullest. However the reason I absolutely love this community and don't intend to move unless I decide to stay in California and buy a house or move out of state is Kelsey Gandara. She is the office manager from this community and when I tell you she goes above and beyond it's an understatement that should be considered insulting but she knows we love her. Before I moved here from Houston Kelsey made me feel like a friend instead of a potential renter. She was in constant contact with me, keeping me updated on openings and my application process. I felt like I knew somebody far away from home. She was patient answered all my questions no matter how annoying and basically held my hand through the process. Now that I live here any issues concerns complaints she sees to immediately without hesitation. She makes adjustments for me and my wife and goes out of her way to insure our comfort. I'm writing this review as a resident of the apartments. Before living here my fiancé and I would just check apartments for fun, and look at potential areas to live. Once we found this spot we had to hop on it and say yes to becoming a resident. Don't get me wrong some people can say it's a bit pricy but in my opinion, with all the added benefits and having a garage it is well worth living in especially being in a safe and well kept neighborhood. I don't want to spoil the tour if you decide on taking one, but you won't be disappointed with it. The staff here is also a great help and excellent customer service. I moved here a week ago and I can't say so far it's wonderful. It's quiet and the area is very centralized. I leased the apartment with Napoleon and he treated me like a friend and not like a stranger like some other apartment complexes. I love the amenities offered and I can walk to any store I choose. There is an enclosed dog park about a block away that I can take my dogs which is awesome. Everyone in the office is extremely nice and helpful and they make you feel at home every window time you go there. I haven't tried out the gym yet but it is much better equipped than most other places I've seen. read more

I would like to mention the outstanding work of Spencer Smith, who is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and responsive. My wife looked at a number of rental homes throughout San Diego but she was quite impressed by the layout of the complex, close adjacency to shopping and most of all the professional service rendered by Spencer Smith. Called to inquire about an apartment today. I could tell for some reason the lady did not want to assist me. I asked her did she accept section 8 and if they were any available rentals. She referred me to a website. Once on the website I was able to see 3 bedroom and town homes I asked were there any of these avail she said we don't have them. I asked don't have them? they are being advertised do you mean as in the 3 bdr apartment/town home they are rented and not available for lease. I could tell there was something again byt the way she was acting and talking like she did not want to assist and I really was interested in the apt so I thought. I could not deal with her attitude so I I just flat out told her I live in a 5 bedroom 3 bathroom house I have not dealt with an apt in a long time and I just really needed some help with available rentals. I guess this lady got upset because she put me on hold and never came back to the phone. I waited and waited it did not feel right being on hold, hold was just a way for her to get rid of me and disrespect me leaving me on hold 4 ever. I continued to wait and then I took a screen shot of the length of time she had me on hold. she never came back I could tell in her voice when she put me on hold she had no no intent of coming back to the phone line to asst me.I could tell when I called she had strange hateful attitude but I let it roll off. I called back to see if there was someone else to speak to about the apt there were 3 different numbers no one was answering. I guess this just goes to show if people do not like your accent or how you speak when over the phone they can be racist and not helpful.
