Boardwalk Ice Cream was one of my family's favorite spots at the Boardwalk resort. We stopped in after dinner and, although it was chilly, the line was out the door of customers who were equally as eager to end their night with a sweet treat. The line moved at a steady pace and CMs did their best to fill orders as quickly as possible. Overall, a good first experience at Boardwalk Ice Cream. Boardwalk Ice Cream is located along the boardwalk of Crescent Lake at the Boardwalk Inn and Villas resort. The menu boasts many different types of sundaes, milkshakes, and more. The establishment itself doesn't have tables and chairs to eat inside, however, there are several places to sit down outside, on the actual boardwalk. Our order consisted of three sundaes * Surf's Up Sundae * Strawberry Splash Shortcake Sundae * Bayside Brownie A La Mode Sundae All three sundaes were crafted well with tasty ice cream and toppings that lived up their names. The Strawberry Splash Shortcake was my favorite. The large chunks of strawberry shortcake left this sundae unparalleled. Pricing was also fair and the CM building our order did so with care, precision, a smile. Our first visit to Boardwalk Ice Cream was a success. We would definitely return in the future and would highly recommend this spot to anyone frequenting the Boardwalk. read more

Disney does it again! This old time scoop shop at the boardwalk hotel brings all the fun to ice cream scoops and milkshakes. Every bit as delicious as ice cream in the park and all the theme and character as all that Disney does. The service was also friendly and attentive. I know they are also very allergy friendly and will take extra steps to ensure safety, but I will say that almost everything on the menu had peanut. My sons peanut allergy is not that severe, but the amount of peanut on the menu made me make allergy requests that night. read more

Went on a Saturday and there was no line, so the service was pretty quick. Got the Brownie Fudge and it was perfect! It had a lot of fudge, a big scoop of ice cream, a brownie at the bottom, i'm still dreaming about it. My partner and I shared it and we still couldn't finish it. read more

Boardwalk Ice Cream was excellent! We stopped in for dessert and for $14.00 had a sundae and a shake--both were very good. The ice cream was rich, creamy, and clearly high quality. Simple, classic treats done right. Definitely a great spot when you're in the mood for something sweet, and we'll be back again. I thought cheap for where we are! So glad we took the boat over from Epcot to grab some ice cream! It was a great end to the day. My kids lived the ice cream and I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to make the Egg Cream vegan. If anyone can or will do it, it's Disney!! The girls working here were super friendly and accommodating. Across the cookies and cream shake, ice cream, and strawberry shortcake, everyone in our party really enjoyed their sweet treats, and I was shocked how cost effective everything was. I was so excited to find out that this ice cream shop actually had a vegan option and I have been going there ever since I found out. I noticed the first few times I walked in, no one said hi to me but immediately after me if someone else walked that was not a woman and was not Indian they welcomed them excitedly and and hello. Every single time that I walked in I noticed this. I initially ignored it because I thought maybe they were just having a bad day but it's been like that every day that I have walked in. Today when I walked in, I felt that they were a few minutes of hesitation before someone actually helped me. When she came over to help me and asked what I wanted I told her I wanted a vegan Sundae. She asked if it was an allergy or a preference and I said it didn't matter as long as I could get a fresh scoop and she said well in that case it would have to be an allergy so I said that was totally ok. She then threw down her gloves in an exasperated manner and said she would go and get the allergy specialist who then took about five minutes to even come outside to help me. The allergy specialist was a manager, and his name was Christian. When he walked in, he proceeded to tell me that I was wrong about having an allergy and I needed to be a preference when the person before him had just told me that I could not ask for a preference if I wanted them to use a fresh scoop. When I tried to explain that to him, he kept telling me that I was wrong. He also refused to make me a Sundae initially and just gave me a scoop of ice cream instead. When I tried to remind him that I had asked for a sundae he claimed that I'd never said anything to him and when I tried to tell him that I had mentioned it to the original person taking my order he said that her job was not the allergy specialist and that I should have told him- but interestingly he never asked me any questions about what I wanted so I assumed he knew. He then made us a Sundae with two half scoops and barely any toppings at all, perhaps because he was frustrated? Mind you there was no line and nobody waiting when I walked in and at least 5 to 6 people behind the counter just chatting. I have seen the associates make beautiful multilevel sundaes for non ethnic people every time I walk in. I felt like I was being targeted for wanting something different and maybe it's also because I look different. I thought that Disney catered to all different types of diets, but I realize today based on this experience that most of their teams have not been taught to accommodate vegans. The only time that we walked in in the past that we did not feel this way is when one associate who I believe was from France treated us kindly I don't remember her name, but she was great. Other than that, it's always been a miserable experience. I am highly disappointed definitely do not recommend this place to vegans or women. read more

For Disney it's good portions and good prices. The ice cream is good quality and they have topping options. Did not wait too long in line either. Definitely a great choice compared to other stuff in the boardwalk and even better than the stuff in Epcot. read more

At the end of a very fun (and very long) day at Epcot, we figured we'd pop over to the Disney Boardwalk to see what it's all about. It's super cool, it turns out. It's laid out like a traditional boardwalk and they've got little shows happening along the way. We saw a bit of impressive jump rope and magic shows during our hour there. I was super full from a day of eating at Epcot but when I noticed a section in the BoardWalk Ice Cream menu called Vintage Beverages, I just couldn't resist. Specifically, I knew I had to try the Egg Cream ("Chocolate Flavor, Milk, Sparkling Water") because I've seen people ordering it in old movies forever and I've always been curious about it. It's...interesting. It basically tastes like fizzy chocolate milk, which is certainly quite bizarre. And while I doubt I'd ever order it again, it made for a relatively light sweet treat. Treating yourself is a must for any Disney day. Stopping in for a sundae at Boardwalk ice cream (at any time of day) is a fantastic way to do it! We enjoyed both a 'surf's up Sundae' and a 'ride the wave' sundae on two separate occasions. Even when busy, the line moved quickly and we were helped promptly by friendly employees. The portions were super generous, tasty and consistent: easily enough to share between 2-4 people. Just have to eat it quick enough before the Florida heat turns your sundae into a milkshake! read more

Mom and I had been talking about getting these sodas since her last visit in the fall so we finally tried them. These are a nice addition to a stroll on the Boardwalk. They are old timey sodas so they did take a few minutes to prepare. We tried both options, the cherry limeade and tropical seltzer. read more

Disappointing Experience Despite Tasty Ice Cream We were excited to try Boardwalk Ice Cream at Disney World after hearing good things, but unfortunately, it turned into a frustrating experience. Even though there were only a handful of people ahead of us, the wait was incredibly long -- nearly 30 minutes for just a few simple ice cream orders. There was no clear reason for the delay, and the staff didn't seem in any rush to move things along. When we finally got our ice cream, it was cute -- classic Mickey shapes that looked great for pictures -- and the flavor was good. But the experience was soured even further when we found a pit inside the cherry on one of the children's sundaes. Thankfully no one got hurt, but for a place like Disney, where you expect high standards and extra attention to safety (especially with kids), it was disappointing and careless. Cute ice cream or not, between the long, baffling wait and the safety oversight, we won't be coming back. read more

Of all the ice cream spots at Disney, this place is one of the more basic. However, it's great for a classic scoop. Service is quick and the shop is cute. While I'd prefer the walk up window at Beaches & Cream if I'm getting ice cream on the Disney boardwalk, this place is cool because they have some fun soda options. I got the cherry limeade and it was delicious. Fizzy, bright, and hand mixed, you can't beat cherry grenadine. It's an old fashioned experience for sure! read more

6-7 workers. I walk in through the handicapped door, straight to the counter. Only one person paying, no one in line. I stand there looking through the menu, can't make up my mind, but I do notice no one has acknowledged me. A family walks in, and the cashier girl calls them over. 5-6 girls working behind the counter, a few mins and another family go by, I get fed up up and ask one girl if I was invisible, she said no, and I said good, it seemed that I was and walked the F out. Wow, when me and my cousin walked in everything was all sunshine and rainbows but when we were ready to order after picking out our things, the lady said that you have to be over 18 or with someone who is over 18 to purchase something. very sad.
