L'Artisan des Glaces has been on my go to list for a few years now. I finally had a chance to try it out during my latest Disney World trip for the RunDisney Wine & Dine race in October. L'Artisan des Glaces is in the France Pavilion at Epcot. It's sort of hidden in the back of the France Pavilion. It's a ice cream kiosk! You'll find a rotating selection of house made ice creams and sorbets, up to 16 different flavors. Some of the standout frozen treats include the macaron ice cream sandwich and the croque glace (warm brioche bun pressed around a scoop of ice cream and topped with sauce). When I stopped inside the restaurant, the wait time wasn't too long. It was approximately 15 minutes. I've always wanted to try out the chocolate macaron ice cream sandwich. It was pretty small though, but the flavor was amazing! I did end up taking the macaron ice cream sandwich over to the single rider line for Remy's! Because this dessert shop is in the World Showcase at Epcot, this is a great spot to break while walking around the different pavilions. Seating is limited, but if you walk a little bit near the Disney's Beauty and the Beast Sing-A-Long, there are some more benches that you can sit at. Well, I may be in the minority here but I didn't think it was worth the wait. The staff was kind but the brioche sandwich wasn't anything to write home about. The waffle cone was very crispy so you don't have to worry about it getting soggy. I wish I could try the ice cream but it would take much longer and I'm sure they don't like giving out free product. I wanted the coffee drink with the ice cream inside but the cashier insisted the bread was the way to go. It wasn't fresh and it just didn't go. Anyhow, I'll try the gelato outside near Italy next time! It's clean inside and it's narrow, so beware of bringing strollers in. read more

On hot days when you're walking through Epcot, this is definitely a refreshing treat. The lines can be long. You order at the counter, then you go stand in another line to give them your ticket for the items ordered. I wish they had seasonal peppermint flavor for gelato, but they do not. I came here to try the viral Croque Glacé which is a brioche bun ice cream sandwich. Overrated. I got the Cinnamon Caramelized Apple ice cream which was good but not spectacular. The brioche bun was not that good. I was expecting it to have a softer and buttery interior, but instead it was kind of dry and lacked flavor. I would have preferred just ordering the ice cream on its own, as the bun seemed like a waste of calories. Overall, the ice cream here is solid, but the Croque Glacé was a miss for me. Believe the hype Yelp! I was told to check out L'Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion and I'm glad I did. You know I had to try the croque glacé. It's a brioche bun packed with any flavor ice cream you want and then you can choose between chocolate, caramel, or raspberry sauce. I ordered it with the coconut white chocolate ice cream and caramel sauce. The warm brioche bun really makes it! It's really good. They make it fresh in front of you and add a hidden Mickey with the sauce you order. I had to go there twice - each time the line was not long at all. They also have a very efficient way to move the line along. It's a small place so the line can build up outside of the door. You order and pay at the cash register. Then you stand in a second line, give them your receipt, and order your ice cream. I highly recommend L'Artisan des Glaces if you are in the mood for some delicious ice cream while at Epcot! read more

Probably one of the most unique offerings at Disney. They have great flavors of ice cream and boy, it is refreshing on a hot summer day. But what really stands out is the brioche press. The take a scoop of ice cream of your choosing and press it against two circular brioche buns to form an ice cream sandwich. It is so warm and soft and works so well with the cold ice cream. They are all so nice and helpful and walk you through all the options, so feel free to ask any questions or sample any flavors. Tucked inside of the France pavilion in the world showcase, this ice cream stop is a much try. It's a store front with just a register, ice cream space and a small waiting area. There is some seating nearby in the patisserie if you did want to take a seat while you eat. They have a small number of flavors, which is nice, as it makes it easy to choose quickly. The line is efficient with a good flow and only takes a few minutes for each person to get in and out. I highly recommend the cafe glace, much like an affogato, if you have had that before. SOOOOO delicious!!! I really enjoyed my cute lil Mickey Mouse ice cream with blueberry yogurt. However, I liked my bf's ice cream better. Now I'm not the biggest fan of mint (I don't hate it) but their mint chocolate chip is something else! It didn't taste artificial or overpowering. It was just PERFECT! This is my favorite spot to get a cold sweet treat in Epcot. They have a new seasonal lavender cone that I've been dying to try. The line was miraculously short, so I got it! The cone is pretty and tastes good, but $2 extra. A single scoop in tang cone came out to $10.20 which is steep even for Disney. But, it was pretty and delicious. I've heard about this location before I moved to FL and wanted to check it out as I started to get updated on the changes to the parks. On one of my first visits to EPCOT, I stopped by to grab something as a snack/treat. It's near the exit to the Beauty and the Beast sing-along and the restaurant with sandwiches and French patisserie. It's on the far left of the walkway. They ask guests to queue up and wait at the archway before a cashier calls you up to place your order. With the cashier, you order the item but you will tell the cast member making your item what flavors you want. After you pay, you'll be asked to wait until a cast member calls you up to make your order fresh. I went with the croque glacé with chocolate ice cream and raspberry sauce. The sandwich is worth the hype. The bun is fresh and soft and the ice cream pairs nicely. The quality of the ice cream is excellent - smooth, good flavor, and not icy. read more

Keep in mind that this isn't top shelf alcohol, so when you get a bite with a lot of alcohol, you will wince cuz the alcohol has quite a kick. But overall, a fun way to consume one's booze. Here's another Disney By James review! A lovely little gem tucked away in the France pavilion. Nice ambiance and more importantly, delicious ice cream! You won't be disappointed by the number of flavor selections and I believe the menu changes based on seasonality (giving you another reason to come back!)... For me the winner here is the macaroon sandwiches, which again change based on the time of year. If you come in the Fall, be sure to try the pumpkin spice macaroon sandwich! My one complaint... it's mostly (if not all) hard-packed ice cream. Still tasty, but as someone who much prefers soft-serve I find myself visiting the outside kiosks more frequently where that's an option. read more
