Does this shop need another 5 star review? IDK. yeah? It is the best barber shop I have been to in Pasadena, and it is in my top 3 ever...since like 85. It is a bit harder to get a spot, so book in advance. It costs a few dollars more than the walk in spot 2 blocks away with the cross eyed barber giving $15 crooked line ups but it is worth it. The vibe is relaxed and the cuts are good. 100% solid. read more

I can't remember the last time I went to the same barber shop for two or more consecutive visits. It was probably during a time when Obama was still in office and no one knew what a smartwatch was. After doing a search for nearby barber shops and seeing a vast list, I was lucky enough to pick Boathouse. It's a classy little shop that aims for a laid back nostalgic feel and hits the mark. Absent are the row of 10 chairs and blaring music. It's a little two seat place with a cool owner named Andy who you'll take an immediate liking too. Most importantly, the haircuts are great. Michelle is my new go to barber. She takes her time and seems to take a few extra steps when cutting my hair that I really don't see from other barbers. It shows in the finished product. Like Andy, Michelle is very nice and doesn't seem to mind when I ask to take more off the top just when you think everything is finished. Another terrific aspect is the online booking. No more walking in and praying there isn't a line. You pick a time and get your haircut as soon as you walk in. Also, free beer (at least I think it's free - I declined to take one). tl;dr - Just an overall great experience where I can get a haircut my wife actually likes. read more

I just got my hair cut by Michelle and I love it! I've been trying out different barbers and could never find the right one until now. This shop is super clean, decorated in vintage boat parts and operated by friendly barbers. The whole time I was there, we had great conversations along with a free beer! I've gone to both Andy & Michelle - though primarily Andy - and I receive excellent cuts consistently. The conversation is always fantastic, and the experience is always relaxing. Parking is easy & convenient, and there are shops nearby for a post-haircut snack or drink.
