If you're looking for a solid, dapper haircut in the Pasadena area, please check out Our Thing Barbershop. Full disclosure, Gaspar has been cutting my hair for the better part of the last year. When I heard he was starting his own shop, I had to come check it out! The shop is located within Salon Republic at the Paseo Colorado. You can park in the structure and get your parking validated for up to 90 minutes for free. Gaspar has put in a lot of work into giving the shop a mafia/mob style aesthetic. The brick wall, bullet holes, pictures of the mob and vintage style barber chair is such an awesome touch! He's really doing his best to bring back the feel of an old-school barbershop. As far as the haircut goes, don't go in expecting a quick cut. You can really see Gaspar's attention to detail when I ask for a comb-over fade. He's personable and easy to chat with, so I don't feel like I'm just there for a haircut. One of my favorite things about getting a cut here is the hair-wash. Not only is it super relaxing, but it means I don't have to go and cleanup the little hairs. Gaspar also does beard and mustache trims, as well as a straight razor shave. 10/10 would recommend Gaspar to anyone looking for an affordable, quality cut. read more

Great barbershop! Gaspar knows what he is doing and gave me one of my favorite haircuts in recent memory. If you like mob movies, there are also a ton of things to look at. I was looking online for a spot to bring my boyfriend to get a haircut and also trim his beard. I found this place and immediately got in contact with Gaspar. Didn't take long at all to get a response and Gaspar answered all my questions. He set me up with an appointment and it couldn't have been easier. As soon as we stepped into the shop, me and my boyfriend were so amazed with how amazing Gaspar had the place set up. Sat my boyfriend down, asked him how he liked his hair and got to work. He was super friendly and funny, which made time pass by fast while I waited. I was just excited to see what the end result would be. He took his time and had so much patience tackling my boyfriends hair which he hadn't cut on weeks! Both he and I are super happy with how it turned out and how much care he put into it. Gaspar really brings that old school barber feel and is such a genuine person. Fades are on point and this man had me grinning from ear to ear with how happy I was with the cut/fade he provided. Just had my first haircut with Gaspar and can without a doubt say it was one of the best barber experiences I've ever had. Recently moved to the area and have tried all the other local spots but can now safely say I've found my go to barber shop. His attention to detail and passion for his work is unmatched and it shows in his work. He's also an extremely friendly person and easy to talk to. Am I really the first review? That's hard to believe because this place did me up nice and proper. I came in for a beard trim and luckily he could squeeze me in. I went in looking homeless but came out looking like I could sell you your own house. It was nice too, he took his time and really made sure that I left looking crispy. Even hooked it up with some beard oil at the end. Definitely gonna be back to Our Thing because they're putting the craftsmanship back into barbering. read more

This is the most amazing place you can go to cut your hair. GASPAR IS VERY TALENTED AND HONEST. HIS HANDS CAN DO MAGIC...I went here for the first time, very easy to find.. It's above H&M inside of Salon Republic, Suite 406. It smells so good in there and it's very sanitized.
