What a great place for food and ambiance! Made reservations to ensure our table outside by the water. The staff was professional and accommodating. We stopped at the bar since we arrived early and delicious mojitos and fresh sushi rolls. They seated us at the appropriate time and was taken great care of by George. We had the clam chowda and crab fondue... DELICIOUS and the chowda was full of clams and flavorful. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and seared grouper... PERFECTION. My wife and went there this past Valentine's day, our server was Brett who knew the menu inside and out. He was very responsive to our need for a perfect dinning experience, he even had the manager come to our table to ensure everything was just right. Excellent food, I had the fried fish sandwich and it was perfect. We had the edamame and it was seasoned with garlic & ponzu sauce, really good. My bf had a wrap and again, excellent. They have daily drink specials and a really nice patio with a water view. I highly recommend this place if you are passing through the area and want a delicious, low key lunch outdoors or even inside- the music was good too! Only downside is it adds up quick.. Went there for the first time this afternoon. First thing that struck is the great view and ambiance- wonderful! I had some great excellent French onion soup and fish and chips that were great. My wife had Mahi fish tacos blackened and they too were very good. Had sangria to slake our thirst. Fantastic atmosphere...we sat outside in an actual boat on a bed of seashells. We started off with onion rings, the best I've ever had!!! The rest of the food was also delicious! The drinks were huge. Our server was excellent, especially thoughtful of our kids. Highly recommend!!! read more

I will start by saying the food and atmosphere are wonderful. The service is not . It took nearly 30 minutes AFTER our dinner was brought out for our server to check on us . I needed more dressing for my entree salad as the very small condiment cup of dressing did not even coat half the salad . My husband had finished his entire entree and I had not even started mine . We tried to get the attention of the food runners and those bussing tables but everyone moves in a very hurriedly pace so we were not successful, which is odd because it was later in the evening and not busy at all. Eventually our server did check on us and I asked for more dressing. He clearly saw my husband was finished and I had not even started but he proceeded to not only check on three other tables, but spent a significant amount of time 'schmoozing ' each table as we sat in disbelief. We overhead much of his conversations (as it was not busy) and he mentioned to one tables that he has worked at The Boathouse for three years . This makes me question the entire service staff if this type of unprofessionalism has been accepted for three years. He then proceeded down a level of stairs to schmooze another group and repeatedly, and loudly used four letter words to keep the conversation going with them, all this while I sat and waited to eat my dinner. We celebrated our niece's and her husband's wedding by having a nice dinner here. Of note, the escargot was outstanding! The sushi is very fresh but the pieces are a bit large, making it difficult to eat each piece in one bite. The portion sizes are very generous. read more

My wife and I have grown to love the Boathouse. Up until this evening we have had nothing but great food and service. A place to entertain visiting friends and family. Unfortunately, we just left because we were told they would not seat us inside because they were holding these tables for the guest who were sitting outside. Hostess felt that bad weather might be coming and would not seat anyone inside (still no a drop). She told my 7 month pregnant wife and I that we can sit at the bar because the bar serves the full menu. Really?! You are in the service business. When half of your restaurant has open tables, you seat your guests. read more

We go here often. The food is pretty good, but pricey. They also have a few good cocktails on the menu, again pricey. The last time we attempted to stop here for a few drinks, we were told we could not sit outside because we made the mistake of saying that we were just planning to have a few drinks. There were plenty of open seats outside. I was shocked that they would turn away our business, when we go there regularly and have multiple $10 cocktails. Our bill is typically around $60-$65 for the three cocktails we usually order. Why would you ever turn away a customer like that. Everyone knows that liquor is by far the highest markup and most profitable for a business. This place is right on the water, so it has that great atmosphere outside, but don't plan on sitting and enjoying it for long. We ended up going to the bar next door, who was having a great Happy Hour deal anyway. Also, I thought I would mention that the small one person bathroom is pretty disgusting here. It always smells terrible, they need to do some deep cleaning and/or remodeling inside to get the stink out. :) read more

Crowded but it is high Season. Locals: eat upstairs at the bar- same food, no wait to be seated, amazing view of the river and moon from the big windows. Fun atmosphere and food was very good. Definitely not your average fare; well prepared and presented. Don't come here if you're on a fixed income. Service was good. MEDIOCRE AT BEST - The service was decent and of course as a local we love sitting outside by the water. Unfortunately the river water is coffee brown due to the discharges from polluted Lake Okeechobee, but that is not the restaurants fault. Food quality, however is. There were seven of us and each person had a different sandwich or salad. The caprese, which I had was inedible. The rest were mediocre at best. Wait staff should always question why someone doesn't touch their food. Ours did not. We will not return. read more

Four of us came for dinner. Mixed review. Two ladies had the shrimp wrapped in bacon in crab, mashed potatoes and asparagus. $28 for four shrimp - we both agreed it was really tasteless and dry. We do not recommend this at all. Husband had Mahi fish with mango - tasted great, but came with NO side $26. He ate my mashed potatoes. Other husband had two sushi rolls, salmon and another kind - he liked them fine. Why is it when you go to a higher priced restaurant, you pay more, yet get less food, no bread, and no sides?! Waitress forgot to come back or return with requested items. We left hungry. After paying $80+ for our meals, we ate food when we got home. I don't know why there are any bad reviews of this restaurant. We ate lunch here yesterday and everything was great from the drinks to the food and service. The mojito was one of the best in the area not too sweet and not to tart, had fresh raspberries in it. My husbands and sisters margaritas were also great and large. We had a fish sandwich, crab sandwich and fish tacos and all were great, cooked perfectly, fresh fish and plenty to eat. Their fries are really good and so is the coleslaw. John was our server and he was really good. Came by enough to see if we needed anything and our drinks and food were brought out in a timely manner. He asked if we wanted more drinks (went to avocatos in West Palm beach a couple days ago and was never asked if we wanted a second drink, mojitos sucked there too).
