Visited for the end of season event with a group of six and they had an outdoor seating area that worked well for us! It was a pleasant experience and I look forward to visiting again!

Nice wines and friendly staff at a beautiful location. We had the red wine flight and it was a generous sampling of four fine wines for $18. We ended up buying a bottle of 2019 Cab Franc.

We loved our time at this vineyard! Their Boathouse Bubbly & Peach Cider were beyond delicious! The service and grounds were amazing! We drove all the way from Texas and enjoyed them so much we drove home with several bottles. Do yourself a favor and add this incredible vineyard to your bucket list!!!

We had a great time thanks to the friendly and knowledgable Nancy. We ended up with a couple bottles of the dry Riesling (Knot Too Sweet). We'll definitely be back!

This is a paid tasting. A newer tasting room, it was very basic. One room with a round wine counter in the middle. The staff knew their wines and were friendly. Out the back door is a porch and large yard that overlooks the canal. Boats can even pull up to their dock. You can bring your own food and sit on the porch with some wine.

We docked our boat right in the backyard of the Boathouse and sampled a few wines. Staff was really friendly and helpful. We ordered carry out from Dicks Pourhouse and brought it back to the Boathouse to enjoy with our bottle of wine. The staff even gave us a copy of the menu at Dicks and offered suggestions on ordering. We are looking forward to another visit on Sunday for their live music from 3-5!!

They have a nice deck in back and have live music during the week, and a few chairs up closer to the river.

Not sure why we were treated so negatively at the start, but I asked the gentleman about how we thought the wine pairings with the food was a little odd to us, his response was, "well people may not want to have what the suggested pairing."  Okay got it! We did notice the chief visited the customers sitting at the tables, but not us, again feeling insignificant that were not worthy of her time. But then again we were the only ones sitting at the bar eating, or drinking for that matter.  Maybe the manager, owner, or whoever greeted us was not having a good day. Still very disappointing that we never felt welcomed. Their wines might be good, but we really never got that far and our mood was not in a good place. I recommend just trying their wine, don't do the Friday Foodie event.

Our server Noel was amazing and made the best recommendations. We loved the Albariño and Northerner (a cab-Syrah blend) - both rare finds in Northern MI. Two of the current Top Chef contestants were previously chefs here before filming. They have a good sized uncovered outdoor patio, and more limited seating inside. The interior seating has a homey feel, the decor is simple Northern, Lake Michigan. The menu is short, but a good variety of options, I'm not sure how often it changes, as the entrees during our visit were a bit more substantial, suited for cooler weather. We had Ceasar salads, Mac and cheese, burrata, and Chicken Marsala. I also had their soup of the day, a beef chili, my favorite item we had. We thoughts the Ceasar was a standard good. The Mac and Cheese was a bit boring and dry. The Burrata was great, nice fresh tomato's. We also enjoyed the chicken. I had a flight of three of their wines, nicely presented. I thought both of the whites, first fruits, and the Gruner Veltliner, were very good. Gilchrist is relatively newer to the area wineries and a nice addition.

My husband and I stopped in and were immediately greeted at the front door by a lovely woman who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. She walked us through the tasting experience, pointed out the restrooms, and truly set the tone for such a warm and inviting visit. When we made our way to the tasting bar, we were greeted by a wonderful man who was funny, engaging, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. He explained each spirit so well and made the tasting experience genuinely fun. Come to find out -- the two people taking such great care of us were the owners! Their hospitality and customer service were exceptional and made the experience feel personal and memorable. And the spirits? Absolutely phenomenal. We ended up leaving with six bottles because everything was that good. This was hands-down one of the best experiences of our entire trip. Highly recommend stopping in if you're anywhere near the area!

My husband, who favors sweet beverages, or at least today he does... Insisted that the lemoncello was so delicious from his sampling that they brought him a 3 ounce pour and I swear to you it taste like Lemon Pledge mixed with sugar water. Then he got some cream situation. The lemoncello crema. Before I even drink it, I took a with, and it smelled like breastmilk vomit. Straight baby spit up. My friend tells me that my review is truthful, but kind of mean. But I have had four drinks here and they were all kind of gross. We will probably come back tomorrow. I'm gonna go try the horseradish vodka. Maybe that will be better.
