I can't tell you how amazing, helpful and knowledgeable The Boat Shop is. Wayne is a sincere guy…read morethat knows his stuff and doesn't expect you to buy. After going to many and I mean many boat shops answers were never fully answered, felt like the information provided enough, or the ultimately the customer service to answer questions stunk. We visited The Boat Shop and felt very at home from a family fan business, maintenance being done in the back and friendly people. It was great to be able to customize the boat from the many options, look at others in comparison, understand the difference between the nitro versus others...even checking out the Bass Cat being built from the ground up on their Facebook page! A few months later even getting a thank you note from the originator of Bass Cats Boats....if that doesn't show you pride and comfort in a purchase I'm not sure what could! During July 2019; during COVID we purchased a Bass Cat Boat. Even though it was delayed in production due to COVID information of boat progress was nice. We were able to get the boat in Oct which honestly was earlier than originally projected. My husband is happier than ever that he purchased the bass cat even if my checkbook was numb for the purchase! We just did 20 hours of service maintenance and Eric was able to do that on the spot and saves time. In addition, the trailer was bent and rubber padding broke due to gassing the boat up but he was able to fix that as well! Very thankful and great place. I would highly recommend anyone to check this place out and we have no regrets with The Boat Shop, people and the purchase of our Bass Cat.

We went back on the lake same problem took it back and this time the mechanic said it was bad gas and that he flushed it all out. When we took it to the lake again same problem. This time we took it to a different mechanic who was referred to by a friend. This mechanic informed us that the carburetor was never rebuilt. Basically stole our money and time that could have gone to so many other things for our family. So disappointed and disgusted. Dan and Rose Rodriguez

I understand that it is necessary to give a star rating in order to document a complaint. However,…read moreif I could do so, I would give them a negative star rating. Anyway, on Feb 24, 2026, this company sent a technician out, by the name of Robert (?) to diagnose my gas generator. Prior to the actual appointment, or even scheduling the appointment, I was quoted the following: General Fees: - House Call - $49 per visit, even if the visit is to complete the repair, diagnosed at the initial visit. Even if the technician was unable to do a competent job, and new visit would be necessary to remedy or complete the initial service. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, they may work with you on this fee. - Diagnostic Fee - $100 however, this fee can be used toward a tune-up anytime. - Taxes & Credit Card/Debit Card Fee - Service Fee - 5.1% which includes tax, transaction fee(s) and everything. Not sure what else there would be, for there to be a an "everything", but I digress. Equipment Specific Fee(s): - Tune Up (Gas Generator) - $495 (Minus diagnostic fee if previously paid). Upon arriving, the technician, completed the diagnosis, I assume and the cost of everything would be $578.72. Of course, I attempted to break up the payments, part before the repair and he remainder after the repair/service was complete, but whomever Robert spoke with to see if this was acceptable would not approve this. It was all up front of nothing, and simply pay the quoted fee for house call and diagnostics, which would have been $149.00. With very little options as a housebound disabled veteran, I approved the estimate and the technician moved forward. By the way, the technician had already torn down the specific areas of concern, and to this day, they still remain in a torn down state of disrepair. UPDATE: Received a call back from Rob, I assume this is Robert, the technician who came here, tore down my generator, then only called me back to advise me that they were refunding the amount paid, minus the diagnostic fee ($100) and the house call fee ($49). So, I originally paid $578.72, they refunded or provided a "goodwill" refund of $100 on April 8, 2026, and after approximately 2 months, 19 days (Feb 24, 2026), and several calls requesting a call-back from a decision-making company employee. They finally submit a partial refund of my full payment on May 15, 2026. First of all, the house call ($49), I can accept that. However, they are charging me for a diagnostic with no proof that a diagnostic was actually done. Not to mention, the diagnostic fee can only be applied on a later tune-up, which of course, I will NEVER be able to utilize as the initial work was NEVER COMPLETED! I say this, because it is my understanding that, a diagnostic is supposed to diagnose the problem, so the customer can decide whether or not they want to move forward with repairs. Once that agreement is in place, rather verbal (Feb 24, 2026) of by contract/invoice/receipt (Feb 25, 2026), and payment (Feb 24, 2026), there is both an expectation of a reasonable time to complete repairs, effective communication and if all else fails, a full refund as services were not completed as agreed. Since the customer agreed to the repairs, as did the business, and the repairs were not done, it stands to reason that the diagnostic fee should also be refunded. Since there is no proof that the diagnosis was done, or done properly, since no repair was done, the diagnostic fee needs to be returned as well. The partial refund was submitted on May 15, 2026. As of May 25, 2026, the refund has not processed. UPDATE: Partial Refund processed on May 26, 2026. Paid: $578.72 - $100 (goodwill refund) - $317.80 = $160.92 - $49.00 - $100.00 = $11.92 (Not including the diagnostic fee, this is still owed!). I guess, since the diagnostic fee and the house call which were kept, amounted to $149, but they kept, $160.92, I can only guess, they decided to keep an additional $11.92 to cover their level of incompetence. I can only assume that these two characteristics can be quite expensive. CAVEAT: Per their website, they are an accredited business by the BBB. Based on the BBB, this business is not accredited.

So summer comes around, boat still hasn't sold. So my partner on the boat and I decided we wanted to pick the boat up and keep it. Pat seemed aggravated by this and told me he had all these customers in different states interested, but no commitment from anyone. I asked what it would take to pay him for everything and get the boat back. ($1,420.00) I paid that with no problem because I trusted him. Well I get home and the three speakers he installed for 375$ weren't even wired in and were 45$ speakers on amazon. I called Pat and told him the issue, which he thought he would resolve with cussing and yelling as well as hanging up on me three times. I decided to let this shady gentlemen keep the money and I'm moving on to avoid confrontation. Pat is a complete SCAMMER In my bill it clearly states the 300$ I paid for the storage fees. So there was nothing free about it . AND I told you everything about the boat and asked if you wanted to get in it and look it over with me in which you said no, it looks good from down here. I had no problem paying for repairs until I was ripped off. So I don't know where you get FREE And I never didn't want you to fix anything , I paid you 400$ to replace a vinyl strip... On top of that I cut my price 5 thousand dollars and you couldn't sell it. So don't say I was using you as a free storage facility .
