Very bad experience here, paid for service and for codes to be run in my boat, Anton serviced it and ran the codes while I was out of town and immediately asked for payment, I couldn't make the payment util I returned and verified the boat had been serviced, many threatening texts from Anton, I paid 4 days after the service and at that point Anton would not give me the codes after I paid, he stopped all responses, I was afraid to write a review u til after I moved the boat in fear of retaliation, my strong advice is DO NOT GRT ANY WORK DONE HERE, go to an authorized and legitimate bait service repair like Yamaha in Newport Beach, they charged the exact same as Anton and provided receipts and record of codes. The first time I met Anton, he came down and did an emergency diagnosis and repair on my twin F300's the day/evening before a fishing trip. This guy figured out the problem and solved it before my trip. I was amazed. I've been boating for my whole life in SoCal and I know what the normal mechanic response time is. Also, some guys want to tell you all the problems that prevent solutions. Anton tells you solutions to the effing problems. Since the pre fishing trip incident, Anton has helped me troubleshoot and solve several problems on my boat including networking older and newer components which is hard. We are new boat owners and had purchased a classic 1979 Boston Whaler with a 1988 2 stroke 88 outboard. The boat ran ok but we wanted to start improvements. We needed to install a new controller. Got it installed but couldn't get it quite right. I found Anton on Yelp. He came out and helped us. When he found out we wanted to learn the boat, Anton was great to teach us as we changed oil and water pump. Then we asked him about new gauges and he installed the gauges and rewired everything. I unexpectedly hired Anton after seeing him working on another boat on my dock. I see him working hard on other boats so i ask if he as time can he look at my anchor. He says "Yes" and comes over and spends a few hours and ends up fixing everything on my "to-do" list ! He fixes my electronics and chain on my anchor. He saved me money by not having to replace my anchor ! Then he fixes my window hatch and saved me money by not having to replace it ! :) then he fixed my running lights ! Anton is a fantastic marine engineer. He displayed extraordinary knowledge and skill with regard to the 1984 Yanmar diesel on my recently purchased older sailboat, and provided exceptional assistance in getting a new Raymarine chartplotter connected to AIS coming from a Standard Horizon VHF. He made adjustments to smooth out a very stiff transmission shifter, and located a jury-rigged fix to a fuel pump bleeding system. In a day and a half, he had my propulsion, steering and electronics working perfectly as evidenced by a 10 hour run without a single problem. Anton has a great sense of humor, and his willingness to help me locate all engine service points, and help me understand recent updates to electronics connectivity was supremely helpful. If I was keeping the boat in Dana Point, he would be my engineering systems guy permanently, but the boat was moved to San Diego, and I will now have to search for someone to match his very high caliber of knowledge and skill. I recently purchased a pre-owned fishing boat. The starter burned up on my second use and after buying a new starter, the internet said I might have to pull the engine in order to install it. Needless to say I started researching boat mechanics near me and I found Anton and chose him because he had great reviews. Anton agreed to come to my home and install the starter the very next day.
