They had a look at my water heater and determined it needed to be replaced. We had been wanting to get a new tankless water heater for quite some time but my husband wanted to wait until we were in need of replacing our current hot water heater tank. Steve gave us a quote for replacing our current 75 gallon water heater with a tankless Navien model that would go in our garage in the same place as our old water heater. The price was fair and we agreed to go with the work. Later that morning Efficient Plumbing ordered our tankless water heater, delivered it, removed our old water heater and installed the new tankless water heater for us. They did an amazing job with all the necessary modifications to make the conversion from tank to tankless and we were thrilled with the end result. We now have endless hot water that we once never had. Efficient Plumbing has once again came to our rescue when we have been in need of a plumber! A few weeks ago we woke up to find a bubble in our dining room ceiling from water that had been filling up while we were asleep! This is any homeowners nightmare and I called Efficient Plumbing right away. We have used them for many years and sadly this wasn't our first water leak. Evelin answered the phone and walked me through on how to shut the water off to the house immediately to stop the water damage. Hector came out within the hour and got to work diagnosing our issue. He is knowledgeable and very experienced and we always feel like we are in good hands. Our ceiling was opened and it turned out to be a copper pin hole leak on the water line in the ceiling above the dining room that feeds our master bathroom. Hector skillfully repaired the water leak and also advised us to consider a whole house repipe since this was not our first leak. They gave us their estimate the same day for the whole house repipe and even offered to credit the repairs made with Hector towards the repipe which was a big help. We decided to move forward and had them repipe our whole house the following week. They got it done in one day and everything went great! A few days later the drywall was patched up and we were all done! CAREFUL WITH THESE GUYS... I had a water heater blow up and jumped on Yelp and found these guys to replace my 75 gallon water heater based on the many positive reviews. They were great in sending a wonderful tech out quickly and gave me an estimate of $6500 with no breakdown of where they were getting this number. After asking multiple times if they could separate the parts, haul away and labor cost to explain how they came up with this number when the heater was 1700.00, I had reached out to A and G Plumbing who was referred to me by my neighbor. They came today and installed the exact same water heater quoted. Did a wonderful job in 3 hours, cleaned everything up and hauled the other heater away for $4100. It goes to show to trust your gut if something feels off, it likely is. And in times like these, everybody needs to be careful in not paying an absorbent amount of money for something that is unneeded. I would've paid unnecessarily $2400 more. We call that the "laguna beach tax" Stay well, fellow Yelpers! RESPONSE TO STEVE's REPLY BELOW: Thanks for your response. I'm not sure you're fully aware of what actually happened, because based on your reply, it seems there may have been some miscommunication with your team. At no point did I believe the job should cost $1,700. In fact, I specifically questioned the pricing because it felt high to me. I asked your assistant for a detailed breakdown of the quote so I could better understand the costs. During that conversation, I was told the heaters were marked up 50%, but based on the numbers, the markup was closer to 67%. I want to be clear: I am absolutely willing to pay fairly for labor and expertise. However, like any customer, I expect transparency, especially when something feels off. I requested a cost breakdown and was told it would be sent to me, but I never received it. (SEE TEXTS) During my call with your assistant (I apologize for not remembering her name), she also mentioned that you markup retail pricing on parts. As someone who works as a broker, I'm familiar with industry standards. I have access to wholesale pricing and typically receive a 20-40% discount depending on the work I do to find wholesalers, but I would never sell a product to a client for more than they could purchase it themselves, that's not ethical. Standard practice is to source parts at the best wholesale rate and sell them at or near retail, not significantly above it. Regarding bringing everything "up to code," the only addition needed was an expansion tank. A&G Plumbing (San Juan Cap) completed the entire job, including that addition, for $4,100 (invoice provided). As for the circulating pump, I clearly stated I did not need a replacement since mine was functioning properly and had only been installed four years ago. I was told it would be removed from the quote that had not even been sent, yet it was included. It's also worth noting that I was initially quoted $6,500 over the phone based on photos--before your technician even came out. I'm not sure why unnecessary items were still included on the quote after I explicitly declined them. As for the complexity of the installation, A&G had no issues. They used the elevator (no stairs involved) and completed the job in about three hours. The setup was exactly as shown in my original photos, nothing unusually complicated. I also want to highlight that after requesting a breakdown multiple times, I still never received one. After waiting, I followed up via text and was told your assistant had to leave for an appointment, despite having spoken with her 1.5 hours earlier when she said she would send it. This lack of follow-through is a major concern. Ultimately, I received the same service, with the same parts and required upgrades, for $2,400 less. That raises valid questions. Without transparency, it's hard not to feel that the pricing was inflated. This review isn't meant to attack, but to share my experience honestly. As a customer, I believe it's reasonable to expect a clear, itemized estimate, especially for a significant expense. I had a great experience with Efficient Plumbing. They came out for a water leak detection when I noticed water was seeping out from the floor of my laundry room and creating a puddle. I originally thought something had spilled or the washing machine had leaked and I dried it up only to notice the water leak came back the next day. They were able to make me a same day appointment and send out their plumber Hector who came out quickly and performed water leak detection. He found a slab leak that had been causing issues for quite some time. I had been getting a higher than normal water bill for the last two months but didn't think much of it. The team was professional, honest, and explained everything clearly before starting the plumbing repairs. They repaired the pipe leak by doing a reroute in PEX of that single copper line that was going from my laundry room to my guest bathroom shower. They were efficient and left everything clean afterward. They did suggest a whole house repipe as an alternative long term solution but it is something I will have them do eventually. We purchased a home recently that needed the under the kitchen sink pipe changed from an S trap to a P trap per city code. I called and spoke to a nice professional woman named Evelyn who booked us an appointment with Titus, their licensed and bonded plumber. I was able to communicate what we needed through text with her including a picture which was helpful. She got back to me same day with a fair price. Our appointment was for today Friday, August 15th 2025. Titus was on time with all of his supplies ready to go! Nice knowledgeable man who listened and communicated effectively. Efficient Plumbing is exactly what its name indicates - EFFICIENT! We had a toilet/shower clog that my snake couldn't move. Talked to them on Monday morning around 9:30 and they had Hector show up in about an hour. Hector was not only professional, but also very personable. He got right into the task and using his power auger he was able to make short work of the problem. He then explained what caused the problem and what he did to fix it. Once again Efficient Plumbing came to my rescue! Our home had a slab leak. I decided to have the home repiped instead of just fixing the area which was leaking. Efficient Plumbing supplied me with a bid I was comfortable with and then told us it could be a two day job. The home was repiped in one day. The next day the drywall and stucco patch work was performed. I performed the painting on the drywall and stucco patch areas. I called on a Friday at noon to get 3 angle stop vales replaced under my kitchen sink. Dishwasher delivery installer could not do his work because the angle stop for the water line was corroded and he feared it would leak. That's why I called Efficient Plumbing. Evelyn answered the phone and I sent her pictures of the angle stops. She was able to provide an estimate and Hector arrived in about an hour. He was prepared and efficient at his work. Five stars all around. My experience from beginning to end with the Efficient Plumbing staff was stellar. My call was answered and Evelyn was pleasant and helpful. I needed recommendations on faucets to purchase for a replacement. She had me send photos via text to the number I called her at (super efficient and easy) and she responded with links and where I could purchase ones that fit my need and budget. She gave a rough estimate of cost (that ended up very close to the grand total) and my appointment was set the same day. I was provided a time range of two hours on when to expect Titus' arrival.
