This shop said it would be $600 to replace a single wheel bearing (the cost of labor was $400 on this piece) and an additional $500 to change the rear break pads and rotor. also they don't close at five. I attempted to pickup my car at 4:50 due to the pricing (and my only ride just got off work) and got told off saying they were closed. overall just go to a place that knows how to set up their times correctly. read more

Do not hesitate at all to come to this mechanic, they are actual godsends. My partner and I had bought a van in Ft Lauderdale about 2 days earlier and was promised by the dealership we would make our 18 hour drive back to our home in Dallas, TX. Was told by said dealership that oil would be changed, coolant filled up, which were empty promises. We noticed there was a coolant leak around 5 hours into our journey, and quickly after this our oil pressure light came onto the dash but turned off after we pulled off the side of the road, along with a coolant temp gauge that was going a bit too high. When we would shift into third gear in our Ram Promaster, the low oil pressure light would flicker, and the longer we drove, the more frequent it would flicker on the dash, and by the time we were in Pensacola, it would flicker at only 1.5 RPM. We quickly pulled into a Walmart parking lot when we heard the engine begin rattling and slept overnight in an air up mattress in the back of the van. I got up at 7am, when most mechanics would open, and it seemed that no one would be able to fix our issue at hand all in the same day, in which we needed to be back in Dallas by the next morning, which was 9 hours away. After calling several chain mechanics and not getting any results, I noticed Bob Cole's Auto, and it felt like a sign to call them, since my partners fathers name is literally Bob Cole and is a mechanic, and they said they are an auto repair shop that doesn't take appointments and is first come first serve, and that if we could come quickly we just might be able to make it back to Dallas in time. Well turns it out it was just half a mile down the road from the Walmart, and they were fully able to diagnose the oil issue, and even the coolant leak from a broken water/coolant pump. Turns out oil hadn't been changed in seemly years, it looked like thick tar, and therefore the oil filter and pump were completely clogged. Since the parts were close together they said they were able to completely fix everything in one day and it saved up tremendously on labor costs, since we were planning on getting the coolant leak fixed in Dallas and just filling up the coolant tank every few hours. They didn't have the pump available at the shop, and Mark was kind enough to go out of his way to drive to pick it up from a different shop for us. Our mechanic, Tony was also incredible, and they even both had us come into the shop so we could visually see exactly what was wrong with our van and the repairs that needed to be done, we were able to look at the oil, the pump, the filter and even the leak and they fully explained everything. Never have I been to a more transparent auto repair shop! We had to wait all day (very labor intensive repair) until closing at 5pm but it was no issue as Mark, the owner, was very kind and made sure we had plenty to do while the repairs were being done, and Tony even stayed late to make sure we could get everything fixed in time. They didn't even charge us for the oil change at all either. In the end we made it back to Dallas with no issues whatsoever, the gears are switching beautifully and there were hardly any upticks in the coolant temp even at 85-90 mph, and if there were, they quickly went back to normal. Now that we're back, there aren't any major repairs that we need at all, and our van seems to be very reliable. Coming here saved us so much money in repairs, since our engine could've possibly seized. At a normal shop these repairs would be over 2k at least, if not 2.5k, while we only ended up paying 1.8k for all repairs. TLDR: this repair shop is one of the most reliable and transparent auto repair shop you will find and will not cheat or bullshit you at all. They are willing to go out of their way to help you and will make sure you are taken care of. Mark and Tony are awesome!! They are also first come first serve basis, no appointments. read more

He charged me $800 the last time to change a thermostat that I was just too tired to do myself. I never agreed to the charge but he held my car hostage. My late mother used Bob's shop for decades. She trusted him, and he always treated her with respect. Now his son, Mark, runs the shop. My sister took our mom's ancient car in for work a few weeks ago. They seemed to take good care of her. He said the car needed additional work on a system that seemed to be working fine. But we took their word for it and had them do the extra unplanned worked. Today the car had major issues in that same system-almost complete failure. I talked on the phone to Mark, Bob's son who runs the shop now. Trust matters to me. I asked why wasn't this issue noticed at all when they just worked on the same system a few weeks ago. Is it possible they nicked the line and caused this? I specifically said I wasn't accusing him of causing this issue because I had no way of knowing one way or the other but did say I only give the benefit of the doubt once. Mark offered to take pictures and send them to me when they finish. I thought that was nice of him. Our conversation was frank but never disrespectful in any way by anyone. A few minutes after he got off of the phone with me, my sister called me back. She was upset. He had apparently gone into a rage with her about how I had talked to him. She said that he was "going off" so badly she worried he would have a heart attack or a stroke or something. She said she had never seen anything like this. He told her he wasn't sure they were even going to work on the car now. My sister, a very calm and quiet soul, said to him: "Your father never talked to me or my mother this way." He angrily yelled, "Well here, let's call my father now. You can talk to him." as he got his phone out of his pocket. She replied, "Can we move beyond this and just get the car fixed?" I am troubled that Mark would take the anger he apparently had with me (of which I was unaware) out on my sister, who drives the old car and took it in for repair. If he was angry with me, he should be angry with me, not her. We should work that out, not him and her. And, frankly, I find his anger with me way out of proportion to my asking what I consider to be reasonable questions about their previous work. This type of customer service is unacceptable to me. You never go off on an older woman who was simply listening to his and my conversation on speaker phone. Never! My sister called me back a while later to say that he apologized to her for his rude behavior. I appreciate that he apologized, though he still insisted that "you'll should not have talked to me like that." Hmm: "like that." I'm completely in the dark about how he perceived his and my conversation to be so offensive to him. (He later said to me when we discussed this that my telling him I didn't want any further trouble with the car and insinuating they caused the problem we had today, calling his integrity into question, is what made him so angry.) Bob's shop turned the car repair around in record time today. I appreciate that. And, as I mentioned, I appreciate that Mark apologized to my sister. My parents used Bob's shop for many decades. They trusted him. But mom and dad are gone now, and I'm not sure my sister and I will use his shop again. (Of course, Mark might not want us back for all I know.) If Mark hadn't apologized, I can tell you we certainly would not be going back. My sister, who was genuinely offended by this whole "debacle" as she called it, asked for Bob's phone number as she was leaving. Mark refused to give it to her. She wanted to let him know how badly his son treated her since Bob apparently still owns the business. While preparing to leave, my sister said another customer came in to get a bid on work his car needed. He told Mark he was collecting bids from different shops. Mark told him they don't do that. It costs what it costs. The potential customer left unable to get a bid on the work. I guess trust between people who don't know each other is hard work. Any business has to cultivate it every interaction they have with customers and potential customers. read more

I have been a loyal customer for years, but the last time I took my car to them to do a simple battery change, they replaced one of the CV joints and completely messed up my braking system in the process. I took it back to them and asked them to look at it, they didn't have time. Didn't call me to tell me they didn't have time or anything, I just let my car sit there all day. After using Bob Cole's once to replace my tailpipe, I went back to have them help prepare my old truck for being pulled on a dolly. I arrived with my U-Haul and the dolly for my truck 3 minutes before they closed not realizing they close at 4 on Fridays. They had already sent the mechanics home for the day! Mark said he could probably do it not being an auto mechanic himself, but didn't want to risk it if he didn't have to. So, Mark called a couple other shops to see if they could help me out and disconnect my drive shaft. When no one else was able to, he said just pull the truck in, we can do it. He and the one other "front of house" guy, stayed and got my truck all set up and on the dolly well passed closing time. Then to top it all off, they did not even charge us! Would not even accept a tip. They really saved me from having to figure out how to disconnect that drive shaft by myself in a Walmart parking lot!
