I called DeBroux Automotive to discuss a discrepancy before paying over $2,000 in scheduled repairs (transmission fluid and spark plugs). Matrix physically inspected the vehicle , and stated 2 belts need replacement while DeBroux said only one. As a single older woman with no family nearby and limited income, my truck's reliability is extremely important to me. The belts are my main concern -- without them working properly, my fear was the truck will soon become useless. I wanted assurance that after spending that much money, my truck would be reliable. When I politely raised this, the responses were snarky, sarcastic, (I think came from the owner himself) and rude. They said "look under the hood yourself" and "go to Kelly Hill". All customers, especially older women on fixed incomes, deserve basic respect and clear communication. Very disappointed. Rudeness and dismissive treatment from DeBroux hurt me deeply -- emotionally, physically, and spiritually. As an older single woman with limited support, being made to feel disrespected and like I had no right to ask for basic fairness or reliable service left me humiliated and drained, affecting my well-being and ability to show up fully for my patients and family. Since writing the above, I found a nice auto repair shop, with a very respectful owner, who told me "I didn't need to do any work now on it now". However, the other shop stated, when I"m ready (when the truck is giving me more problems), he would do the same work for 1/2 as much, saving me 1000 dollars. That is a 50% savings or a 100% savings since I need to do NOTHING now. This place is not as great as they think it is. read more

This review is based on our first experience with DeBroux which received good recommendations on Yelp.com. Repair: replacement of knock sensor harness (which I supplied) and replacement of knock sensor. Cost: ($661) excluding harness. Shop personnel are very courteous and carefully explain what needs to be done and the costs involved. I used YouTube to review what the repair involved, and realized it was beyond my ability to desire to do the repair. The same car had the same repair before, and the bill was $164; at first I thought the $661 was pretty expensive; then I noted that the $164 repair cost was in 2018, so the higher cost could be a reflection of the increased cost of EVERYTHING since then. If you want a straight forward and trustworthy auto shop, this is it. I've never been disappointed with these guys. They do great work and have fantastic customer service. Only downside is sometimes they're backed up and you might have to wait a week for an appointment. Worst mechanic shop I've been at. They did not communicate on prices or on the work they were going to do. Spent $300+ on a camshaft sensor to be replace since I was told that would fix my misfires. When I received it not even a mile on the street I started to get misfires and codes were back. They obviously didn't even run it after "fixing" the problem. read more

All the warning lights on my instrument cluster came on. I took my car in to DeBroux because I used them before and trusted them to do good work. Rodney came out and checked the lights. He ran an OBD test and told me his reader did not detect a code and made an appointment for me in two weeks to bring the car in. The following day I was near an auto parts store and stopped in and requested a OBD test, which was free. Their reader detected a faulty ABS module code and the technician gave me a printout. I brought the printout and showed it to Rodney who was not happy I brought the car to be tested at the parts store. Anyway, I needed another job done and he told me my car was also due for its 30,000 mile maintenance. I asked for an estimate for some of the work because I could not afford all the 30,000 required maintenance and the ABS module replacement at the same time. Rodney refused to give me the estimates or do the other work I needed. He did replace the ABS module but would not do any of the other work I needed to have done. Update: I noticed Rodney didn't add the length of warrantee on the receipt. I called him the following day to ask about it. He told me he would look it up and get back with me. It's been more than a week now and he still has not contacted me about the length of the warrantee. I paid extra for him to get the part expressly for the warrantee. As far as I'm concerned, his service has really declined in the past couple of years. read more

Very thankful I found them. I'm a college student so my finances are a bit tight, but I had nothing to worry about here. If I need a mechanic again, I will definitely be going here. Showed up to have them check out my axle for a second opinion and were honest enough to tell me it wasn't time critical and allowed me to drive away with no cost. I then decided to come back to have the repair and they took care of it extremely quickly and for an affordable price (less than half of what was my estimate cost from a different shop).
