I took my Volkswagen Jetta to this auto repair shop because I was having an issue with my vehicle. I paid $500 for a diagnostic, and after having my car for weeks, I was told the issue was related to a recall on my vehicle. I took my car to the dealership to have the recall addressed, only to be told that the recall was not the cause of the issue I originally brought my car in for. The repair shop also replaced a battery cable/cord, but unfortunately, that did not resolve the problem. When I went back and requested a partial refund for the diagnostic since the diagnosis was incorrect and the issue remained unresolved, they refused. I was very disappointed with how the situation was handled. I understand that diagnosing vehicle problems can sometimes be complicated, but I paid $500 expecting an accurate diagnosis and a solution to the problem. Instead, I was without my vehicle for weeks, paid for a repair that did not fix the issue, and was left with the original problem. Based on my personal experience, I would encourage anyone considering this shop to get a second opinion before authorizing expensive diagnostic or repair work. Words can't express the gratitude I have for this place; I can't recommend them enough! They are the most genuine and knowledgeable mechanics I've ever met and they truly care about your car and finding the root of issue instead of charging you thousands of dollars for an entire replacement like other places. I took my Volkswagen to a different auto shop down the road and was told I need a new transmission. They said they couldn't find the part and would have to order it which would take 1-2 weeks. Being on vacation, I didn't really know what to do. After calling around, a transmission shop recommended I call Palafox Imports. I had my car towed from the auto shop to Palafox Imports and, within the hour, they had found the issue with my car: simply a 2 inch long connector that had come off. They were so honest explaining everything with detail, even giving me helpful tips and info on how to care for my specific car, and sending me on my way, same day. If you own a European car, trust me and don't go to a regular mechanic. You will end up wasting your money in the long run as they'll give you the quick expensive fix which might not even fix the issue. At the recommendation of a friend who had Palafox Imports service his Mercedes E500 suspension, I took my 2015 Porsche Cayenne to see Guy. My passenger side window was stopped in the down position and the electronics were acting very strange. My fear was giving someone a blank check to begin checking the entire electrical system on the right side of the vehicle. Within 10 min of arriving, Guy had the window operating. Another 10 min and he had put the window through a series of paces to ensure he had correctly identified the problem as a door module no longer in sync. He spent another 10 min talking me through the issue and what to do if the problem reoccured. 30 min after showing up, i was back on the road with the window repaired. Well, let me start with stating this was not an impressable experience. I came to this repair shop because my husband had prior work done and wanted a 2nd opinion. Unfortunately, he was unable to make this trip and I had the pleasure of meeting this rude, arrogant, know it all worker named Guy. I explained to him that my A/C was not working and wanted a 2nd opinion. He asked where did you go? I stated that am new to the area and not quite sure of the location. His tone and body language were so unprofessional, and he went on to state, whoever told you that it was the compressor, they lied, and they were probably sitting in the back with their face in their hands, wasting your time. He states to me that people go to Autozone and reliable on those diagnosis test and it's a waste of time because he knows what he is doing. I asked him did he check the flashing light on the dash that I mentioned earlier, he tells me that, that is another system and so it was not checked, that would be another fee to be the diagnosed. He still wanted to know if I wanted him to put freon, and in the same breath says," it would not last until he fixed the A/C switch". At the end of this nightmare, I paid 110.00 just to round it up; and the issue was that I would need a A/C pressure switch and he was dead WRONG. I was so annoyed that I went for a 3rd opinion but did not tell this person that I had prior opinions. As I explained to know-it-all (Guy). My husband had worn down his tires, so much of the wires were visible on the front right side and that's when the light came on the dash. Come to find out there were 11 wires that were cut due to the exposure of the wires from the front right tire. I saved $437.52 and this diagnosis cost $50.00 and would be applied to service, but because I got it fixed on the same it was waived. I will not spend my family's hard-earned money somewhere were not treated with respect, made to feel less than or deal with staff who lack professionalism. This company could at least apply the diagnostic fee towards services. read more

The air conditioner air was decreasing in coolness in my 2015 Porsche Macan. I took it to Palafox Imports, and they worked me into the schedule. I was very happy at first. The AC was working again and the price was reasonable. I drove home, and when I got back in the car later that day, I noticed liquid had pooled under the car. I drove a few miles and got a low antifreeze warning. I filled up the antifreeze and took the car immediately back to Palafox Imports the morning of the next day. They said this antifreeze leak was a COINCIDENCE and charged me almost $700 to fix a hose. Like most people, I'm too busy to take them to small claims court. There aren't many places to take a Porsche Macan in Pensacola, so I'm very sad to have been treated this way. Had customer broke down in their area, called them on a busy Friday afternoon and they worked it in & fixed the problem.

I brought my car in for a loud rattle. This was addressed as a leak in the turbo gasket, once this was fixed they came to the conclusion one of my intake manifold studs was busted in half, and the pressure then showed this issue to light. I was skeptical that this was the case but Guy assured me that I probably bought the car this way and did his best to try and extract the broken stud. After a week or so of trying they closed it up with a new gasket and sent the car on the way. Now there was also an issue with the ABS module which was looking like a 4000 dollar fix, and to properly remove the head and get that broken stud out wouldve been around the same. Money I "did not have at the time" and respectfully stated this as the case. Knowing I can get this module and do it myself. The day after retrieving the car, it is leaking coolant and I brought it back, never an issue before. They explained the water pump housing was now leaking, and possibly a damaged radiator. Being a skeptic as anyone should going to a shop I asked why they did not bring this up prior, or notice leaking coolant. Thomas the phone tech or whatever he is then got an estimate and a timeline of about 4-7 days. Not bad i thought. I simply asked, can you promise it will be out after the 7 days and agreed to the price. He then said " do not take this the wrong way, but you are a cannot afford this and that customer, and i cant just drop everything for you" when in fact, I can afford all of the things they wanted to do, but kept it civil as you do not give a mechanic the golden ticket to run your wallet in the drain. I respectfully asked for my car back and will be doing the work myself or finding a new reputable mechanic. I really liked the place, but two coincidences and a leak that spawned after pickup is quite unfortunate, and they lost a customer who would have returned. Asking something as simple as "can you promise the end of your time estimate, and is the price at least close to accurate" should not be grounds to come at someones financial means. For that, you can go fuck yourself. Thanks for everything fellas, but you lost at least $1300 that was questionable in the first place just by being a jackass on the phone. read more

Total Hacks. Took an old beetle in to have a steering column checked out and possibly replaced. They called me the same day and said there was COVID in the shop, so there would be a delay. No one had a mask on when I went to pick my car up, but I did. Right away that makes them look really stupid and ignorant. They did not correct the issue and now my car won't run and has no power. They hot dogged it like it's a Porsche for a week and I almost got into accident on the home, cause the car won't go past 30 miles an hour and keeps stalling. I'm a member of a local VW and club, that's been driving that every day for 7 years. I've sent a video to the President and other members of said club that know car well and all of can't believe it. I'd like to drop Guy off in the Bronx with a Mets Jersey on, and watch him get destroyed. He's a piece of Crap. read more

Took my Porsche 911 Turbo for some work. I had them install a BBi slave, but Guy put Pentosin instead of DOT 4 fluid in it. Blew out the clutch less than 500 miles later and in the process tore out the first and second gear synchros. He also put in the clutch retaining pin backwards, causing it to slide. He also did not put back on one of my underbody panels. Both of my clutch lines were swelled and sweating. He told me he had fixed them and they were fine. Both had failed due to a mix of DOT and Pentosin because Guy did not flush the system properly. I am in for 8000.00 to fix everything and I paid him over 1000.00 plus parts for a simply clutch. . I left a message and he will not return call. Avoid like the plague. read more
