Tony and I stopped at Bob Evans today for lunch while we were out on our Swing Adventure in WV. The Bob Evans is located in Bridgeport WV along side the I-79 interstate. Tony went with BLT sandwich and a cup of Cheesy Baked Potato Soup w Sweet Iced Tea and I chose a half Turkey sandwich w Swiss cheese and a cup of Beef Veggie Soup w Half-Half Iced Tea. Been on the road a lot lately with high school softball games, stopped to eat a good meal instead of hamburgers at 730 ,took over an hour to get our meal, our coffee was cold my food was cold and my granddaughter didn't get everything she ordered, on top of that our server used the F word because she was the only one there, there where only 3 tables with people. My husband said they probably got slow and had already closed the kitchen. We won't be back to this one. The other patrons had to wait as long as we did. read more

Ordered western omelet, asking to substitute bacon instead of ham like I have many times here and at other Bob Evans locations. Today, I was told the manager is not allowing to substitute bacon instead of ham. Ordering as build your own omelet to satisfy the "no substitution" policy would've resulted in higher price structure for bacon, onions and peppers. Since my wife was with me, I ended up ordering something else. Otherwise, I would've just left without eating. As expensive as dining out can be these days, it's sad when a restaurant/manager chooses to be difficult or inflexible about such a reasonable request (bacon instead of ham). Two visits in a month and a half both neither went well. First visit did not get what I ordered and what looked like black cat hair on the bottom of pancakes. Second time did get what was ordered, but the table that came in after us got food first, another what looked like black cat hair on plate (I do not have a cat), long wait to leave( at table), and the woman's bathroom handicapped door did open, but then quickly slammed into me, nearly knocking me down, then to get out the button didn't work. Our waitress Ashley brought our drinks and food then never came back to our table until 45 minutes later to give us our checks. This Bob Evans delivers. The waiters are polite and quick and serve the food HOT. No messing around and no wait time between food prep and delivery at tables. Girls here are chatty and polite - not fresh mouthed and rude like in some states.. Breakfast here was heaped and delicious. My eggs were hot and cooked to order. Bob Evans used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Service was always good and the food well cooked and delicious. However, the last few times we've ordered from them, the experience has been less than acceptable. Our last interaction with them was two nights ago. We ordered online, as we've done a few times, and my husband went to pick it up. We live about 15 minutes from the restaurant, but it wasn't until my husband was actually in the lobby of the restaurant that they called him to inform his they were out of the item he ordered and he would need to choose something else. That was bad enough, but now he had to wait in the restaurant while they made his new choice. In the meantime, my order sat getting cold. After all that, he got home to find that the fish and the onion rings were way too far over cooked, just this side of burnt, and this is not the first time this has happened, and is the main reason I stopped ordering fish there. When he got home, he said "never again", and I wholeheartedly agree. We will not be patronizing Bob Evans in the future, and advise against it for people who want friendly staff and good food. read more

ZERO stars..If I could rate LESS I would. Just left there..told 15 min wait. After 20 minutes and several people leaving, I went to the counter and asked. Now I was told it would be at least an hour! Not 1 word to the patiently waiting patrons! This location is so poorly run it should be closed. It didnt appear staffing was an issue. I saw at least 10 people there. I can deal with waiting on a table, but to be misled and disrespected by the staff simply ignoring the waiting patrons rather than treat us with respect & tell us is unacceptable under any conditions. You can often tell what your experience is going to be like as soon as you walk through the door. There's a line of people waiting to check out, and one guy is complaining loudly about how long he's been standing there. I stand for several minutes before anyone greets me. The restaurant was not busy, but people are standing waiting. You can clearly tell that they are understaffed. The restroom was filthy. This is normally the case at any Bob Evans. Bob Evans, as a whole, neglects their restrooms more than almost any restaurant that I go to. The carpets at this location haven't been cleaned in a LONG time. You can see the black grease and dirt matted into the carpet throughout the restaurant. I watched an employee cleaning tables. He wiped the seats with his rag and then wiped the table! When you eat here, you're eating off of tables contaminated with other people's butt particles! I've worked in the restaurant industry, particularly with cleaning restaurants, and my experience has shown me that when the front of the house is filthy, the back of the house (where they are making your food) is even dirtier!! And they screwed up my order. I got the Country Biscuit Breakfast. I asked for an extra egg and I didn't get it. The Country Biscuit Breakfast wasn't like other Bob Evans. The gravy was weird, and there was way too much sausage. It clearly wasn't proportioned correctly, and it just didn't taste right. I was also sitting under the air conditioner vent, and it was blowing cold air directly on me and my food. I used to be a secret shopper for Bob Evans, and I know what their corporate officials expect with the food and service. My grandaughter was spending the evening with us so we wanted to take her to dinner. Bob Evans is very close to our house so we decided to go there. The parking lot was pretty sparse so we were surprised when the hostess told us it would be a 10 min wait. We agreed and sat down to wait. There was 1 person already there who told us he had been waiting more than 10 mins. We noticed when we sat down that there were several orders already prepared sitting on the pick up counter to be taken to the tables. We then watched the number of prepared orders grow while the original orders remained. After 20 min we left. We knew even if we were seated our orders would be so delayed the food would not be fit to eat. Needs some better management. read more

They lost my order, treated me rudely, and didn't even try to make it right. I asked for a refund since I didn't get my takeout order I prepaid for several days before. This was to be my family's Thanksgiving meal. I was told my refund would take 7-10 days and just sort of dismissed. No apologies or any offer to fix it or make it right. This restaurant is typically very busy. It wasn't quite so busy the day we visited. I was surprised our service was so slow?! A lady came to our table after we were seated and got our drink order and told us a gentleman would be taking our order. It was a good 10 minutes or so before he showed up. It took a very long time to get our food which made me miserable as I was sitting under an air vent! I was cold. I will say our food was delicious. The hash browns and bacon were crisp as requested! I travel for business a lot, so I eat out a lot. I have one major pet peeve - when I am seated at a restaurant, I like to be greeted within a few minutes. If the server is busy, I understand, but greet me pleasantly "I'll be right with you", or something like that. So Sat morning around 10am I come to Bob Evans and the place is NOT busy. I sit at the counter for 5 minutes while a group of servers, busboys, manager etc. discuss the weather, staffing, whatever. I am ignored. This is the WORST Bob Evans Restaurant I have ever had a meal. I arrived about 7pm after long work day and no food since 6:30am. I should have turned around a left for ANY other place. Every empty table, at least 10 and the counter service, was loaded with uncleared dishes and food! There were food scraps under most the empty tables. The tables were not bussed and cleared the whole time 45 minutes I was there! After 25 minutes I finally received my food. The fish was old, and smelled like smelly fish. The carrots and broccoli were old and dry and unappetizing. The biscuits were doughy and sickening! THE LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT SHOULD CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN! This is the absolute worst place to eat in Bridgeport West Virginia. The service is poor, slow. The staff is mostly rude. The food is bad. They make absolutely nothing fresh in the restaurant it's all frozen food and reheated. Biscuits are not made I. The store they are frozen and baked. Soup is frozen and kept in crock pots all day. There is aale Manager that is there not sure of his name but it is obvious that he hates his job and his life and he takes it out on anyone dining there. I wanted to take my dad out for breakfast on his birthday a couple weeks ago, this is where he wanted to go. We ate at this Bob Evans a lot when I was a kid and it was always pretty good, but I haven't been there in 15 years or so. I ordered an omelette and home fries, my mother ordered a sunshine skillet, and dad got some variation of a breakfast platter (eggs, meat, toast, etc). The food was absolutely horrible. It was cold, but really wouldn't have been significantly improved if it were hot, it just tasted bad. The omelette had ham, onions, and peppers, the peppers were nearly raw. The potatoes were cold and burned, they had a really awful taste that I couldn't get out of my mouth. My first thought was that McDonald's would have been better. Then I thought no, that's not fair. Gas station food would have been better. I am not exaggerating, I have had better breakfast items from Sheetz. I'm not some kind of "food snob" either, I am probably one of the least picky eaters I know, this was just truly terrible. These three breakfast meals ended up costing around $37 plus the tip for some of the worst food I've had in my life. I really don't know how this place stays open. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! ATROCIOUS SERVICE! I had breakfast there on 10/15/2019. It was bad from beginning to end.Beyond mediocre. Here is summary of this unpleasant experience: -I waited and waited to be seated. Several waiters saw me. Nobody came to seat me. So, I seated myself. -The waitress was not very pleasant. The table was dirty. I got my coffee after 10 minutes. -From the time I placed my order to it being brought to my table, it took 25 minutes. I timed it! Other customers around me were getting also very upset because they had to wait for their food for almost 30 minutes. Customers started to complain among themselves. The food for 4 different tables came all at once. Most of it was lukewarm. One table got a wrong order. -I asked, very politely, why it took so long. The waitress got became almost belligerent, telling me, that is was not true, thus implying that I was lying. -My food was okay, but not great. One ingredient (bacon) was missing. - I went to the cashier to pay. No one was there. Again, several waiters saw me. At one point there were 7 persons behind me waiting to pay. Some people were getting angry, others were laughing at the ineptitude of the staff. It took 7 minutes before somebody showed up at the cash register. Did not even ask if everything had been okay, like they are supposed to. I told her that everything had been wrong, and she stood there with her mouth opened and had nothing to say. This place used to be great for breakfast, management changed, food is terrible, service went down hill. Have heard from others I know that they have had several bad experiences here. I contacted corporate about how me and my 3yr old daughter were treated around 8:25 pm one night while driving by, she wanted cereal. The guy working at the counter said "we don't serve cereal" then looked down and went about his business, no "can we get you something else"? just looked away and ignored us.
